Stopped by to pick up some brisket by the pound and one of their chopped brisket baled potatoes. Both were really good. The brisket had a good flavor, and the potato was large enough to share with another person.

This is our favorite place for BBQ. I couldn't be happier that they moved so close to us! Their gut busting BBQ potatoes always hit the spot and can be enough for two. Sometimes they have pork belly burnt end tacos, do not pass these up if they're available! Their brisket tacos are good too and they do not skimp on the meat. They come on homemade flour tortillas. YUM. I've had the best agua de sandia there too but it's not something they always have. Their sides are wonderful too. If you like a citrusy light slaw try their cilantro lime slaw. Y'all, I ate the entire stuffed potato. Like all the trimmings and the skin. I'm slightly ashamed but mostly just happy about what just went down. My first time here was in the evening, one weekend in November and they were nearly sold out of everything (that's a good sign). Thank you for setting up shop in Buda! I'm not the biggest bbq fan (I know, I know...blasphemy in Texas!), but Louie's won me over with their flavorful brisket, delicious sides (the elote was mouthwatering-ly good), and laid-back vibe. I even liked the tangy-sweet bbq sauce, which may not be for everyone but totally worked for me.I'm curious about the rest of the menu, especially the loaded baked potatoes and tacos. I've had BBQ all over the world, and Louie's is no joke. There are a lot of options in the Austin area but Louie's is one you don't want to miss. Incredible brisket, smoky delicious beans, and stuffed baked potatoes that'll blow your mind. Even the pickles and onions were a treat! Found Louie's on Yelp in preparation for a trip to Kyle and went for lunch on a beautiful Nov. Sunday. Great spot just off Main St. in Buda. Mrs. went for a diced brisket sandwich with slaw that's enough for 2. If preferred, you can order it sliced. I ordered the gumbo - BBQ beans, sweet corn and smoked sausage along with a 1/4lb. slab of brisket. Brisket was ridiculously good - The balance between meat, fat content and bark made for terrific flavor and tenderness. Pickled onion, sliced pickles and sauce to complement. Sausage that comes with the BBQ gumbo had incredible smoky flavor that really pairs well with the sweetness of the beans and corn. Will go back this week to try the rest. Louie's got the magic! MUST EAT HERE! Located in historic downtown Buda, this BBQ truck is delicious. Quaint little spot with plenty of seating and shade to sit underneath. Really really great BBQ! The brisket is where it's at!! The sauce is to die for! And don't forget the mac & cheese! Pulled pork is great as well as that banana pudding. Basically everything is amazing on the menu. The only thing they could improve on is customer service. It's hit or miss. The guy who works the front is sometimes a little salty. My family loves barbecue and we love trying new places. We were not disappointed tonight when we tried Louie’s BBQ. When we walked up to it all you could smell was the sweet aroma of the various meats that had been cooked that day mixed in with a light smoke. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable and were happy to answer questions or even let you get a sample. As we were doing a large order to go they offered us some popcorn with their rub sprinkled on. It was an amazing profile of flavors. Well beyond the salt and pepper blend and it was at that first bite that I knew the meat was going to be amazing. We ordered every meat except the chicken (they had sold out for the day). The Brisket had a beautiful bark on the outside that was complimented by the beautiful smoke ring. It was cooked to perfection. Ribs were on point. The rub really shined on the ribs. Didn’t overpower them like some ribs can but instead it complimented them. The meat came off the bone clean and melted in your mouth. Pulled pork was on point. This was where you really got to see the mastery of flavors. You got a small taste of the rub but man when you combined it with the sauce it became next level. Potato salad and beans were a crowd pleaser. My only wish on the beans was to have some burnt ends mixed in but even without that extra flavor from the brisket the beans were excellent. Highly recommend Louie's Craft BBQ. The outdoor ambiance is great and you'll be able to enjoy it with your family. I typically order the brisket sandwich with mac as the side and it never fails.

Came across this gem while spending the weekend in kyle Texas. Great food is the least I could say. Brisket is good and perfect amount of fat. Ribs are sweet and flavorful. Their street corn was delicious and Mac was super cheesy. Their bbq sauce is the perfect mix of sweet with a peppery kick.I wish their meat plates came with a slice of bread and some onions or a pickle. Tried for the first time today - while I loved the fact that there are all of your traditional bbq offerings, upon reviewing the menu we noticed some bbq loaded baked potato options (choose your meat with all the traditional baked potato toppings,) - we ordered the brisket - we could have easily split this and had a very filling lunch but, we didn't stop there! !! We also ordered the brisket taco (not your traditional chopped brisket, it was one large slice) and the pulled pork taco - omg, one taco was plenty for one person - very fresh ingredients and delish. Yep, it's good! Stop by when in Buda. It's tucked a little back from the street, but there is a great setup with picnic tables where you can eat. The truck is nestled under a tall beautiful tree. I got the loaded pulled pork potato. It was huuuge! The pulled pork was really good, really good sauce, but unfortunately, the potato wasn't quite baked all the way. It still tasted great. I took it home and microwaved it a little to soften the potato and that helped. I couldn't finish it and am looking forward to having it for dinner tomorrow. We also got a sopapilla cheesecake and it is soooo good! My family got tacos and some meat by the pound and they all loved what they got. It's a little pricey but seems to be worth the price. I'm glad to have this food truck in Buda! The stars here are the sausage, brisket & mac n cheese. The loaded baked potatoes are also super great, but my husband's potato was not cooked all the way through in some places. I also tried the pulled pork, which was very tasty, but needed some sauce. My bad for forgetting to ask for some on the side. We also tried the beans & elote. They were not my favorites, but I think that's just because I prefer my beans a little less spicy (cumin, cinnamon & pepper perhaps?) & maybe I'm not a fan of elote in general - oops!
