Great facilities and an excellent price. Lee's summit has some of the best parks and gyms. And The Longview Community Center is one of my favorites. The area is beautiful and the equipment is new. During the week in the mornings it is very chill. Everyone is polite and respectful. The pool is great, 25 yards and always has a lifeguard. More...

TL;DR - LCC is spacious, mostly clean, kinda new and well equipped. Great value and good equipment/space but basic, outdated locker room amenities. Can't get a better gym in the area for ~20 a month. The equipment is nice (recently renovated by the city of LS). I don't use the pool, but it looks large and nice if you like to swim laps. Basketball court looks very nice as well, though I don't use it either. For cardio activities - including the treadmill or cycling or rowing - equipment is pretty up-to-date fun to use. For weightlifters and modern fitness enthusiasts, there are plenty of free weights and barbells. Aside from a dedicated dead lift station, there isn't much that is missing. While they have a nice spin studio, with true spinning cycles, the class options I've seen so far are quite minimal...essentially nonexistent for those who work regular business hours and want to spin in the morning. The cycles have been available when I've been there in the mornings.Overall LCC feels like a cross between a gym, a community center and a YMCA. Certainly not a fancy or luxury gym (no towel service, so bring your own) but for the price...the value is great! Please note - the men's locker room IS large and overall decent - BUT it does have a communal/group shower room with about 12 wall-attached shower heads on either side of a ~30 by ~12 ft shower area, similar to a YMCA or HS locker room....which may not be preferable for everyone. Also, the lockers can be a little grimy, as they are fairly old, even though the majority of the facility has been updated. More...

My family and I have been LPCC members for a long time, we've had swimming pool parties, attended Zumba and other classes, used the exercise equipment, ran the track, played racquetball, basketball, pretty much everything the center has to offer, staff has always been very helpful, no rude staff or bad attitudes so I'm surprised some people have commented about those experiences. It can be confusing at times with the fob charge, renewals, swim hour schedules, what age a child must be to participate in a class, etc. but we call in advance to get answers and clarification so there are no surprises. We've had the same if not better experience at the Gamber Center. What we pay for our membership and what we get in return is a bargain. l love the services we get at LPCC. More...

Very nice facility. Lee's Summit does a good job with their Parks and Rec department. I'd like to give them a 4.5, but you can only rate with round numbers.

My only beef would be that there isn't some sort of family membership package. For the two adults and one 5 year old child in our family, it comes to almost $600 a year to join, even as Lee's Summit residents. I think they should offer some kind of discount for additional family members after number one. Maybe the second person gets 10% off, and the third an additional 10%. At any rate, paying a la carte for three people gets kind of expensive. If they figure out some kind of family package deal, I'll be in line to sign up. I think something under $500 would be fair for a family of 3-4.

I come here every Monday,Tuesday,Thursday and Friday unless I'm out of town. Wednesday is my mama day or I'd be here too. I mainly come to the pool and try to come early to miss the crowd . I had two knee replacements (at the same time) and I love the leisure pool. 20 to 30 minutes in it gives me a good workout. I also spend a good 30 to 40 minutes in the lap pool in my own little corner doing other knee therapy. This is my third place to have a membership. It far exceeds the other two for my needs. The price is right and the people are great! No complaints here!!! More...

So blessed by the gardening community that Lee’s Summit has put forth, I have so enjoyed being a part of it this year! The master gardeners have blessed me so much with their generosity and time in the garden. Marilyn and Dixie my hat goes off to both of you, for all your hard work and your example of growing food for others, you are an inspiration. Also Andy, though I don’t think I’ve had the pleasure of meeting you in person but it is my understanding that you made much of this happen and it is to everyone’s Benefit and enjoyment, thank you so much to everyone who was involved this year at the garden it was my pleasure to meet and get to know each of you, and for those I haven’t met I’m sure I missed someone just as Delightful. Look forward to seeing some of you again next year, and for those moving on you will be missed, for those new faces that will join us at the garden next year, I look forward to welcoming you to a great experience! I've been using this gym for a little over a year and like it. It's very inexpensive and they have a lot to offer. I like the indoor pool so I can take my kids there during the colder months. The actual workout area where all the weights are is a little small though, and I often have to wait around to use the equipment that I want to use, but for the price I will deal with that over going to a larger gym. I am seeing a lot of reviews mentioning poor customer service but I have never experienced that before. Every time I go, they greet me, and they tell me to have a nice evening when I walk out. They are always helpful when I need something from them. I haven't had any sessions with a trainer but they all seem nice enough to me. More...
