This was our 1st time having dinner here at Läkenvelder’s BBQ! From the minute we walked in, with their rustic, Texas decor, to the amazing music that was piped in. We were greeted by a genuine “Good ‘ol Boy”, and were told to sit wear we would like! We were there on their “Locals” Thursday Special night & tonight happened to be “Fiesta Night” with fajitas. We did not partake, but enjoyed a great Brisket plate complete with 2 sides, pickles and jalapeños. We also had a pair of House Margueritas. Every bite was superb!!! We can’t wait to go back!!! They normally do have entertainment, but this week they were busy with their catering side. So, check this page often for their “Local” Thursday Specials!! OMG they were so freaking good! our family came up from San Antonio for a day trip and wanted BBQ. for once Google did us right bc we will now be taking monthly every 2 months road trips! we ordered the wurst sandwich with jalapeno sausage and it had the BEST ever sauerkraut!!! it was sweet and savory all at once- so freaking good that our server went and got her mom from the back (they have a scratch kitchen and with how crazy good everything was you better believe it) who was talking to us about it and we bought a quart of it to take home! lol. we also ordered the children's cheeseburger, and the "smokin" burger which has sausage on top of a brisket burger. sides we ordered included additional sauerkraut, the German potato salad, Mac and cheese, and fries. EVERYTHING was delicious. I told hubby that I had to save room for dessert bc if the meal was that good the dessert would be outstanding. OMG. we ordered the peach cobbler (bc Fredericksburg of course) and the apple crumble. I cannot begin to tell you how good it is. the apple crumble was warm, with thin sliced apples, the crumble was the best brown sugar oats butter and who knows what other amazing spices, with vanilla ice cream and warm caramel drizzle! the peach cobbler was amazing and warm and melted in your mouth! if you want the most amazing BBQ and to die for sauerkraut and desserts, this is your place! I’ve actually had the pleasure of eating here twice now and was blown away by the delicious food and great service. First of all, everything is homemade. Large portions, super tender and flavorful brisket and pulled pork. I’ve also personally sampled the peach and cherry cobblers and trust me you need to save room or take them to go like we did. As if that wasn’t enough... OMG the Pina Colada’s are worth the trip in it’s self, BEST I’ve EVER had!!! More...

Stopped by for the first time to place a take out order and was pleasantly surprised by the comfortable and inviting atmosphere. Great staff and the portions were ample for a lunch order. The chopped brisket was outstanding and I would put it up against any BBQ in town and among the 5 best I've ever had anywhere.
