We just used them for our daughter's Bat Mitzvah this past weekend. Â They provided the Kiddish Luncheon and Sunday brunch. Â The staff were wonderful to work with. I don't understand all the negative reviews. Too many haters out there. We have been going to Livingston Bagel for years with no problems. They have always been courteous and helpful. We have used their catering service several times for groups of 15 to 50 at home and they did a great job. Dan was very helpful and their servers, bartenders and staff are great.Bagels are a personal taste thing. If you don't like the bagels, go elsewhere but don't give them a bad review. If their prices are higher than you want to pay, go elsewhere, don't give a bad review. More...

I highly recommend using Dan Blue with Livingston Caterers. Dan and his team were absolutely fabulous and made sure that our event was a total success. Dan is very easy to work with and really paid attention to details. When we had a slight issue with the color of tablecloths, he personally made sure that they were exchanged and that we were happy with the newer ones.Dan had excellent suggestions regarding side dishes and different items to make sure that we had a good selection of foods and enough to feed all of our guests. The food was delicious and nicely displayed.The staff was incredibly attentive and could not have been nicer and more accommodating. They made sure that everything was as we had discussed, and they even reminded me of a couple of things that I had forgotten about. Dan even came to our event to personally make sure that everything was to our liking.At the end of the event, the staff packed up all of the left-overs and sent us home with containers of food. They even boxed up individual pieces of the cake for guests to take with them, which was so thoughtful!You will not be disappointed with Livingston Caterers! More...

David Z Caterers just catered almost an entire Bat Mitzvah weekend. Â A Friday night post-Shabbat dinner for 40 in my home (with 3 staff), a Saturday Kiddush luncheon in our temple for 150 (with 6 staff), and a Sunday morning brunch in my home for 40 (with 3 staff). From the planning, with Daniel, to the coordination, with Cynthia, to the execution, with all of the staff people, we could not have been more pleased. Â The Friday dinner was just perfect. Â Everything was 100% ready to go when we all arrived from temple. Â The food was really perfectly prepared. Â The chicken was not dried out. Â Salmon was delicious.Saturday Kiddush Luncheon was perfect. Â My guests kept complimenting the food. Â The staff was professional and unobtrusive.Sunday brunch was more of the same. Â Professional and delicious.If you need caterers, you will be very pleased if you use David Z. Â Complaints - there were a LOT of leftovers. Â That should be your worst problem. There are 2 reasons I love this place... Bagels and Knishes! As far as I'm concerned you haven't had a great Knish until you try theirs. On a scale of 1 to 10 their Knishes are 11! Forget the fried street Knishes or the boring baked ones you normally get. Besides a classic filling it's the pastry wrapping that sets these gems apart. My only criticism is their pastrami. We have so many, it all depends on what you're craving but some of our healthier options include Gluten free Cauliflower Baked Ziti, Veggie Noodle Stir Fry, and Eggplant Parm towers. If it's comfort food you crave we make the best Triple Decker Sloppy Joes in all of New Jersey!
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
We take the time to listen to our client's needs and goals. We combine their vision and our expertise and come up with the perfect Menu for our client.
What do you love most about your job?
Creating an event from the first introduction to execution and then exceeding our client's expectations. That is our ultimate goal.
What inspired you to start your own business?
We enjoy working with people, getting to know them and their families. Our hope is to create an ever lasting memory for them, earn their trust, and remain their caterer for all of their future events.
