What do you love most about your job?
I love watching people's faces light up when they have a breakthrough moment. It's so special to see people reach their targets and feel proud of themselves. I just want my students to feel that sense of pride and accomplishment. It's also very rewarding to connect with fellow music lovers!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I had been working for a music school for quite some time, and while I absolutely adored working there, I felt that it was time to start being my own boss and taking the reigns into my own hands. I also am a very busy independent artist and musician, so working from home in between sessions has been such a blessing!
Why should our clients choose you?
I've been playing and writing music my entire life, and am very well versed in many different genres and styles. I know the techniques to get people where they want to go with their voice. I'm a very positive and uplifting coach, I approach each lesson from a 100% judge-free mindset. I believe in the power of having a meaningful connection with your coach, and I try to give that to each of my students. I laugh really easily too, so usually our lessons are really fun, which I think is important.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Absolutely! I work from my own home studio, so I have my entire set up ready for remote work!
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I work mainly remotely over Zoom, but if I have an in-person client and reassure them of my vaccination status and will happily wear a mask if that makes my client more comfortable!
Vocal Lesson
A typical lesson for me usually begins with simple warm-ups, exercises, and a check in to see how you're doing. I really believe in fostering trust between myself and my students, and I want you to feel as comfortable as possible with me.
We then will usually go into song study. We'll pick a piece and work through it piece by piece, finding ways to incorporate technique and study what the piece consists of that we can emulate and learn from.
I'm a really positive and uplifting coach. I'm not a very gruff or strict teacher, so if that's what you think you need I may not be the best fit. I try to make my lessons a fun experience.
I teach all levels, all ages, and all gender identities.
Beginning Guitar Lesson
I typically teach beginning level acoustic guitar, particularly singers/songwriters who want to learn how to write on the guitar. I go over basic chord progressions, scales, theory, finger picking, and strum patterns. We do some song study and if the student is interested, then I help them with their original material.
