Coming from a more of a planet fitness type gym, this place is a lot different! I love all the equipment! I've mainly used the treadmill and weights section and it's really nice. They have a lot of different types of equipment that you can use, they even have kickboxing bags! My favorite is the new running treadmill, where the machine adjusts to your speed rather than a speed being preset. They have both and indoor and outdoor pool! The locker room is really clean and filled with all the things you would need (shampoo, conditioner, body wash, mouthwash, body lotion, towels, and even a hair blow dryer). This place is awesome for the whole family. The kids program is amazing and I love that there are always classes for the kids too. The hot yoga studio has great teachers. Visited the spa for the first time today as a guest. Alissa, my stylist, did an outstanding job on my cut and style. The other spa employees were very friendly as well. Alissa gave me a tour of the facility since it was my first time visiting and I couldn’t believe all of the amenities offered. Very state of the art and super clean. I want to update my review after seeing negative reviews. Some of these sound like people just woke up on the wrong side of the bed. I don't want people to get the wrong impression because joining was the best thing I ever did!It's a gym, yes it gets busy. But I have NEVER not been able to use equipment or take a class because of it being busy. Someone's using the machine you want? Wait for them to finish. Want a certain spot in a class? Get there early. I don't see what the big deal is. I've been a member at different clubs here and CA and it's pretty standard for gyms to get full during high traffic times.As for the staff, I have never had any bad encounters with front desk staff, kids academy employees, or maintenance. I had one small issue where my card got charged incorrectly and the GM Immediately put $70 LT Bucks into my account. (Basically a gift card). The entire staff was quick to help me come to a resolution. For the person saying there is only one yoga class a week, that is not true. There are several classes throughout the week. Often times, both studios have class in sessions on the weekend.It seems as though people expect the gym to work around their specific schedule. In reality, they do a good job of finding times that are most popular. Between that, how clean they keep the facility, the amazing pool and my absolute favorite- the Kids Academy. This place has it ALL! I've been coming to Life Time Fitness for about a year now whenever I am in town. The staff are very friendly and the facility is well maintained. My boyfriend surprised me for a spa day this past weekend. I got my manicure and pedicure with Sudi, she is good. I also got a last minute hair cut, I was unprepared regarding what hair style I wanted.  I am terrible with hair care and haven't had a hair cut for a good 2 1/2 year (yikes). But luckily, Jared came to the rescue! He was very detailed and helped me decide what hair cut would be appropriate for me. I am so impressed and already received many compliments how healthy and beautiful my new hair looks. Definite confident boost!!! I will be returning soon (not 2 1/2  years) LOL More...

Really great gym with friendly staff, I always feel like a million bucks after I leave. They have good treadmills and I never liked running on those before bc they felt flat and hard. These are rubbery and have good bounce plus can watch cable TV on the screen in front of you. New nice machinery, lots of space to spread out. I took a barre class that whooped my ass, that's a plus. I use the steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi to stay warm in cold weather! Also tried the cafe for the first time, had the seasonal turkey cranberry panini - it was made very well and tasted great. Harley is the best trainer at Lifetime Syosset! He has trained me and my kids (who are now working out in their College gym), for years. He has both inspired and motivated us and made us feel confident to walk into a Gym on our own. I look forward to seeing Harley's warm smile every single time I go. I got to visit Life Time as a guest and was floored, which a lot of people told me I would be. Three levels of massive space, plentiful workout equipment and all the ammenities that you would want after a sweat sesh. I was particularly impressed by the third floor because it combined the equipment you'd find at specialty and boutique gyms/studios into one: turf, cages, boxing area, battle ropes, tires, etc. I was having a field day. Literally!I enjoyed the complimentary three-day pass since it allowed me to check out most of what the gym offers. I also appreciate that staff weren't aggresive in getting me to sign up on the third day and/or do a guided tour of the facility.I was a bit disappointed to find out that some of the more in-demand classes are pay to play (pilates with reformers, for example) and that the free weight section wasn't bigger (couldn't find a pair of 20s at 7pm).Overall, great gym for a great workout of any sort. Get: A membership and a personal trainer!I loooooove my gym. I love how I feel when I'm there, I love the classes they offer, I love how clean they keep the locker room, I love alllll the amenities. ..soooo many amenities..its insane!In all seriousness, I've been to my fair share of gyms and have eventually stopped going. I have a feeling I'll be sticking around LifeTime for the long haul. I've been a founding member since May and don't see any signs of stopping.You get what you pay for and although it's a slightly cringy to say this is a country club, I will say it's the country club of gyms! I keep coming because I feel great when I'm there. They have the best, state-of-the-art equipment. They have like 12+ showers in the female locker room alone! I never have had to wait for a stall to open, which is super important to me. They stock the stalls with paraben-free shampoo, conditioner, body wash and shaving cream. The bathrooms have mouth wash, make up remover, q-tips, razors, deodorant and lotion. I want to say that my favorite thing about this gym is the towel service. I hate bringing my own towels to the gym and bring back home a soggy towel that I have to wash. Towel service is game changing. Also, I see some gyms have maybe 3 or 4 squat racks at the most, I think this LifeTime gym has like 11+ no kidding, the most I have ever seen!I also have a personal trainer who is amazing and who makes this place feel more like home! This is an absolutely amazing place.  I went there on a guest pass and was very pleased.  Have not joined yet as I live a little bit of a drive away and the downside is the route 1 traffic in the morning, but aside from that, the place is amazing.  I know the GM from CanDo, he's a great person and very kind as well.  This place is millions of times better than Princeton Fitness and Wellness Center, that place is just beyond terrible.  The HR manager there named Lindsay Harris was rude and just rotten.  Makes you wonder if she kisses her mother with that mouth.  But this place is absolutely wonderful.  There is one member that I cannot stand, but aside from that, it's highly recommended. I love this gym! My 14 month old really loves the daycare. There is always enough staff for the kids and plenty of space and toys. They even have activities like arts and crafts. This gym offers a wide variety of classes and equipment. They have an indoor pool we can enjoy year round and an outdoor pool, as well. Many events for kids and Classes for the older kids. Great gym despite the negative reviews you see, it has everything you want very clean. Also am impressed with the staff and the classes offered, look for their instructor Troy, he has a great classes, personally I think he is the best instructor there not to bring disrespect to anyone else.

What an amazing facility. While upon first inspection the dues may be a little expensive, but once you step foot into the club you will understand where the money goes, straight back to the members. They recently purchased brand new equipment, which is incredible. They redid the lockers in the locker rooms which have a nicer wood than the old ones and the locks don't break. Pools are always clean and used for their intents and purposes. And they are planning on adding new equipment in the new year. What an amazing place to spend a good portion of your day. I am a computer software engineer and can work remotely, which i am very grateful for, so I spend much of my day working in the cafe, getting a haircut in the spa and spending my work breaks in the steam room, sauna, and hot tub. I am never leaving this club! Plus I have made plenty of friends and workout partners. This is by far the best gym that I have ever belonged to. I was like a kid in a candy store when I visited Lifetime for the first time. The building itself is massive and so impressive just at first glance. Then you step inside. Just walking in, I was blown away. The staff was so friendly and professional. (One tip: if you don't take a tour before signing up, ask for one when you go for your first visit. The place it huge and looking back I would have loved to have gone on a tour.)The front entry is quite impressive. There is a massive staircase along with a vaulted ceilings and such beautiful decor. Then I went to the locker room. You could spend an entire day in there. The lockers are clean and have their own locking system, (you use a 4-digit code). There are tons of showers with all of the supplies you would have at home. The are about 20 sinks and all of them have shaving cream, razors, q-tips, mouthwash and lotion, (I'm sure I'm forgetting somethIng). There is also a huge hot tub, direct access to the pool along with a steam room and a sauna. I cannot believe these locker rooms. I would kill for this to me by own bathroom. The actual exercise equipment is state of the art, brand new and there are just tons of each. I have never not been able to find a machine to work on.I have also been blown away by the classes offered just in their basic membership. While the price of this membership can seem quite expensive, if you really think about the amount of classes that are offered per day at these studios, the price really is fair. I pay more than I do here for a membership at my yoga studio, and the yoga classes offered here are phenomenal and up to par with traditional studio classes.You also get barre, spin, weight training, cardio, Pilates and so many other classes offered here. I love my gym but I agree it is quite expensive. We pay $200/ month for husband and I. It use to be $180 but received notice of a rate increase and not sure why. But I love the amount of equipment and different areas to workout with weights or functional training equipment. I take the Yoga classes but they recently lost 2 of my favorite instructors: Sarah V and Shannon. There is an indoor/outdoor pool with slide and pool cafe indoor cafe, hair salon, massage suite,  jacuzzi, sauna, tennis courts, 2 regulation sized basketball courts, cycling studio, yoga studio, Pilates studio, and 2 large studios for variety of classes. Also a kids academy providing child care and kids classes. I hope I got everything. Don't join we want to keep it from getting overcrowded. Lol. More...

I took two complimentary Pilates sessions with Amy Olin and was super impressed with her. She put me at ease immediately. I had reservations after 3 joint replacements but she walked me through all the various exercises . Beautiful facility. Friendly staff, great classes and it’s huge. They’ve thought of everything , plenty of towels, plastic bags to put your wet clothes in, lots of toiletries in the women’s locker room, along with a sauna, whirlpool, and steam room. No need to worry about pinning a key to your clothes or bringing your own lock. Each locker had a combination of your choice. Very convenient. Nice yoga studio in its own separate wing of the building. When you step in, you don’t feel like you’re in a gym, it feels like a private yoga studio. I could go on and on, but just one more thing They have a wonderful cafe, with lots of healthy choices. I’ve had two of their grain bowls already. Delicious! I like to think of it as the kalahari without the rooms and the extra junk food. This place literally has something for EVERYONE. Mothers, if you don't like sitting in the house all winter with 2, 4, 5 kids then you must check this place out. You can definitely go here with your kids during the day swim, play, and then drop them off at child care and workout. The child care is one of a kind. They have a language class, arts and crafts, team building, homework help and more. A little kids gymnasium, basketball court, and playground. The locker rooms are always cleaned.
