I went to go pick up my order a couple of hours ago which I was super excited about since I haven't had this place for months. My food was ready when I arrived which was a major plus since I didn't have to wait. I was inside for maybe about 3-4 minutes and I couldn't help but notice how employees were not wearing their masks. There was 3 employees at the time I was in there and the girl cashier was the only one wearing one properly. The guy working tonight had his mask covering his mouth and that's it. Whatever fine. Honestly, I get it. It gets stuffy and he was working in the back away from everything. What really did bother me was the 3rd employee who had NO mask on her face. To top everything off, she was full on having her dinner right near the cashier. As I was walking out I guess she didn't think I saw but she got up and took her plate to get more toppings for her meal. Chewing away with her mouth full while standing on top of all their ingredients and had her used fork and plate right there. I honestly double looked just to make sure I'm seeing everything correct. I don't understand does this place hire new workers every week. Their sauces seem to change at least once a week. Their is no consistency and they seem to be going down and down each time I give them another try. Used to be much better and the fries have been more and more soggy each time. Delicious Mediterranean cozy spot! I had the falafel wrap which was delicious. It was fairly large and I was able to only eat half. Granted I had fries too but still large portion. This tucked away little spot has some delicious and certainly fresh eats. We are a little on the boring side when we eat there and seem to favor the same things, chicken wrap and my boyfriend has the lamb gyro wrap. The meal comes with a delicious Greek salad, but you most ask for the meal. The drink options are ok, not too many, but what we enjoyed was the tiny patio that afforded us outside eating. (And now not anymore due to Covid again)  So the orders are made fresh and most times with care. The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars is because once in a while we get a clerk who is a bit on the short side and doesn't hear us out when placing our order and hangs up on us. Or the order is lacking that delicious salad and if I can go so far as to say, sometimes the salad is not good at all. Otherwise I have to say with their tiny location and fresh foods, clearly with no pics shows we eat it as quickly as we get it, their food is for the most part delicious. I have even in better times never actually sat down in the cute small seating area. We always ordered takeouts. And we never were disappointed. First and most importantly of all, the prepared food was always great, second the orders were always exact and timely. So, very simple, none of that has changed in COVID times... Definitely a place to keep in mind when the stomach and the fridge are empty.PREVIOUS REVIEW:Certainly not the only one, but definitely a wonderful choice to get Mediterranean food for lunch or a quick dinner. The place is located in a a cute little building (missed it on the first drive-by) with a mini garden to sit outside at one of four tables. The food is delicious, freshly prepared, cleanly presented. This cafe.. It's amazing. My family and I received great service by (I think) Mickey was her name.. She was friendly and recommended what we should eat. Also, they are super generous with the food, they pour so much! Cleanliness is also great, I would say 4/5 starts, the restroom could use some help, but the kitchen looks pretty clean! Always a fresh salad and large portions. That's what always brings me back here honestly. For some reason, especially after traveling. A classic chicken kabob plate with a Greek salad is where it's at! Three stars because I veered off and tried the shrimp and salmon and they were both flavorless. They must have been frozen after being cooked and then reheated because they were rubbery as ever. The fries with the garlic sauce tastes ok but it's a little messy so I've only ordered them once or twice. And the veggie plate is a good mix of grilled veggies and Greek salad or rice(love the variety there) but their falafels are not my favorite in terms of flavor and texture. More...

Wish I could've tried it. I needed to use the restroom but they weren't open to customers. Kind of not cool when your eating and drinking. Also, would be nice to be able to wash your hands after having to touch the door handle to get in then touch the credit card pad to pay before your touch your food to eat.... you know because of covid. I have ordered from this place in the past and the experience has been great until last night.  I understand restaurants get busy but you should pride yourself in double even triple checking orders before they go out for delivery.  The portions don't look any like the pictures anymore and yesterday someone didn't get their food and we had to wait until the delivery guy delivered his other delivery then go back to get the missing food and come back.  Our plates didn't have any tomatoes or roasted veggies.The only reason I'm giving them 3 stars is because of the delivery guy.  The delivery guy was apologetic and very professional.   We will try it again and I will update my post, I love to support small businesses. Found this place during covid and its been such a gem! A little on the pricey side but the portions are pretty big. We chose the Lemon Zest Cafe. It was great for both of us. So my order for two people cost $70 with delivery and tax buts still I only ordered chicken plate and a gyro sandwich with two sides. The chicken plate was good I mean whatever but a lot better than the gyro. Gyro was very soggy. Now my complaint is that with my sides I was not even given 1 piece of Pita Bread. The app said $1 for extra pita bread which you'd assume is just some additional pieces  Incase you eat more but no it just meant you have to pay extra to get even 1 pita. Im sorry but when you order salsa chips are not extra . When you order hummus the bread comes with it you don't need to pay extra. For $70 I should have got a bag of pita bread that's less than a $1 at the store. I was also missing my Baklava and Spinach Dip and when I called them they said sorry you can get a refund through the app What App? I ordered online from your website. So will never order from here again. It's a RIP OFF, these people are extra cheap and really doing people dirty. Go to Raffi's they'll never charge you for pita bread when you order appetizers. Really fresh Mediterranean food and the staff are so friendly friendly. I phone in my order and drove over to pick it up. But I believe they will deliver within a certain radius . Let me just tell you how hard it is to find really good (healthy) food in the Van Nuys area while I am at work, this one popped up on my support local restaurants today so I decided to try it.  Amazingly good food, I had the Chicken Avocado wrap with a Ceasar Side and when the bag was handed to me with my order it felt like 5 lbs of food!  Open it up and was amazed by 1. The amount of food and 2. The quality of the food.  Fresh grated Parmesan on my salad, the wrap was grilled and stuffed to the gills.  Just amazeballs!  There is no way I will eat this in one sitting, but I can tell you I cannot wait to try other items on the menu!  Worth every single cent!
