I have been working with Francie Silverman at Leaves of Life for about 1.5 years and have found the results to be very, very successful. I feel so much better and healther! I honestly can't believe how much better I feel. I have coped with extreme depression and anxiety as well as severe heartburn for about 25 years. My goal since college has been to find a health practitioner who could help me manage these issues as well as help improve my energy levels and BMI. I had worked with psychiatrists and general practitioners for decades but felt that they only addressed symptoms... like layering band aid after band aid and never addressing the root causes - all the while charging me for these fixes that only touched the surface of the real problem. Over the last few years I have read more about functional medicine and approaches that are more integrative in nature. I wanted to find a health professional who would consider my symptoms with these principals in mind. I found that at Leaves of Life and with Francie's services. It has been a slow process at times. Our health is affected by hundreds of variables. It takes time to monitor one's health and find the right solutions. Measure and monitor, improve nutrition and behavior, rinse, repeat. Francie helped me do this. My depression and anxiety are pretty much gone - I would say to normal everyday levels. My gut is healthier after eliminating an H.pylori infection that I suspect I have had for decades. My digestive enzymes are normal. My micronutrient levels are returning to normal levels. My BMI has dropped. My energy levels are great. On top of all of this I have also learned to nourish myself and understand the signals my body is telling me better. I cannot commend Patty and the staff at Leaves of Life enough for helping me to regain my health! I was referred to Patty and have been a patient for nearly 2 years now. I can honestly say it has been the best investment in my health that I have ever made. After nearly a decade of suffering from severe/chronic stomach issues and having been to 6 different doctors/specialists with each and every one of them dismissing my symptoms, I knew I had to turn to functional medicine to regain my health as conventional medicine was failing me. Patty sincerely listened to my story, symptoms and frustrations and came up with a very strategic and personalized protocol to tackle my own specific health issues. I have been a client and friend of Patty’s for almost 20 years. I always tend to come and see her when I’m feeling horrible. She tells me what I need to do which almost always is around diet. Then I leave and attempt to follow the plan she sets for me but most of the time I’m half in and half out. About a month ago I went in to see her and we had a “tough love” session and she put a plan in place which was all around diet. I left there feeling down but I knew she was right and so I decided I’m going to do this. I followed the diet plan we put together and even kept a journal of it each day, which for me was huge! Within a week I was completely amazed at how much better I felt!! And the weeks following I felt even better!! Patty has always stressed with me the importance of diet and I am here to tell you LISTEN to her, she absolutely knows what she is talking about. I am proof of that and can honestly say I wish I would have listened to her years ago.
