I don't come here often but stopped in during Fat Tuesday when I ordered a King cake (baby on top so no one chokes!) and their Voodoo donuts.  The King cake is beautifully decorated complete with beads draping the top and tastes as good as it looks.   The Voodoo donuts are on a whole 'nother level!.  Coming in either chocolate or vanilla icing, these raspberry filled donuts are shaped as a voodoo doll and come with pretzel "pins" you can stab the body with.  One warning--these are huge and measure over 9 inches.  I didn't know that when I ordered 6!  A great annual treat. I’ve come to Lane’s before and always enjoyed their products. I was even more happy when I came in on Friday 2/15/19 between 3-4pm. I came on a whim with my ultrasound results (boy or girl) sealed in an envelope and thought maybe they can do something small on the spot for me (to surprise my husband). I asked the young woman working if she could write the results in pink or blue on his favorite cookie and seal it in a box for me. She didn’t hesitate. It was perfect! Thank you so much! We were looking for Swedish style Princess cake and we found that they would make it so we ordered one for a birthday party. Not only was the cake beautiful and delicious, but we also bought granola that they make in-house. The granola was also extremely good.....a little different than you're used to, but very good. Pretty much the usual ingredients just a little softer than usual.The place was extremely clean!  My wife had an Island Oasis which is a smoothie that was very good (and not very common).I would recommend going there and I will be returning there myself. needed to get a carrot cake for a birthday and called around to a few different bakeries. ended up going with Lanes, super friendly on the phone and able to get the cake decorated when I was in town. the cake was delicious! very well made, great texture and moisture, and yummy cream cheese frosting....not too sugary. This place isn't trying to reinvent the croissant, but they do solid work making delicious versions, of what I would call "old trusty," pastries and donuts. I definitely recommend you come for the good coffee, nummy nummy kringles, and donuts. You will be glad you did!My only critique is that chocolate eclairs should have a glossy layer of ganache on top, not chocolate frosting. The chocolate frosting is good, but it's a deviation from tradition that I have strong feelings about. More...

I enjoy absolutely everything about this place! My co workers and I have become regulars there because staff are so friendly, the sweet treats are adorable (see image below) and delicious, they have great options for lunch, and it is also a cozy space to stop by and grab coffee with a friend. Best Kringle ever! The Raspberry Cheese is to die for. The coffee shop by my son’s daycare sells the Kringle from Lane’s, and I can’t help but stop in every once in a while to get one on my way to work.

I needed a cake for my father's memorial service. I was a mess. I called late. They asked me about my dad and I said he liked bright, rich colors. They made a moist (sorry, I know people hate that word) delicious marble cake with the most beautiful floral decorations. It was absolutely stunning, and they seemed eager to make me very happy, which they did. Lane's makes delectable baked goods and I especially enjoy their cookies. I brought in their chocolate chip cookies to work and my coworkers claimed they were the best chocolate chip cookies they had ever had. Thee best whip cream cakes!!!  They have a great variety of doughnuts and cookies. Everything is always fresh. My favorite are the Persians, a cinnamon roll with a little frosting and nuts on top. Their coffee is fresh and hot. They have several tables inside and out. I've been gong to lanes for years and they don't disappoint. I like their new larger store at the end of park street. This place knows what the fuck is going on. I actually might like this place better than Greenbush, but I would hate to admit that out loud so i will never actually examine it too closely, I'll just distract myself with the doughnuts! The Persians are a super safe bet, I also highly recommend their cinnamon rolls. The turnovers are a little lack luster (i think all are to be honest, or maybe i just have unrealistic expectations for what could be). I have had and highly recommend many of their cookies!
