I ordered dinner from this restaurant yesterday and it was sooooo delicious and flavorful! The House Dinner combo was fantastic and the portions were generous. I unfortunately did not get the yogurt sauce that was supposed to come with it, but they accidentally gave us two of the rice puddings. I look forward to trying different items on their menu. More...

One of my favorite Indian restaurants, going to other places after lal mirch just don't really hit. Lal mirch has amazing service with such kind staff. My favorite dish is the saag dal. It's so flavorful and I always have a little bit of leftovers. I also love their vegetable pakora which is vegan and gluten free! (Made with chickpea flour) they have great soup too. Beautiful restaurant I love the way it's designed. And their bathroom is always very clean, which I always use as a guide to help me decide if the kitchen is clean or not. The restaurant is also very clean. I love going here with my dad, we always have a great time it's delicious comforting food! More...

Large portions, arrived via Grubhub still hot. So happy. Ordered shrimp Maakni and chicken fried rice. Both were amazing and large portions, but I'd get chicken Maakni next time as I think it's tastier and more adaptable to the sauce. We also ordered veggie samosa. Delish. More...

This is one of my favorite restaurants--and we only ever order takeout!! The food is so flavorful and delicious and we LOVE how they have clear vegan options. The Chana Masala is so delicious, we could eat it everyday. We are currently making our way through every vegan thing they have on the menu and have not been disappointed a single time. Everything we've eaten has been a delight! More...

I recently visited Lal Mirch and I was extremely disappointed. The food was burned and old, as if it had been reheated. The rice was cooked in a microwave and was raw. The service was horrible - they didn't seem to care what I ordered and just brought whatever they had. They even tried to cheat me on the bill. To top it off, I got sick after eating the leftover food they served me. I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. More...

Delicious! Fast, efficient takeout service. Ample portions. Vegetable Biryani is loaded. Always hot and fresh. Flavor tends toward spicy, so we order "mild", then add more chili to taste. "Medium" is too hot for our palates. Decent outdoor patio space is parallel to the freeway exit, so be aware: fumes and noise are potential downsides. Lunch special is excellent, with less traffic at that time of the day. More...

It was my very FIRST time dining here with my dearest friends (thank you besties), but it most CERTAINLY will NOT be my last! Service was top-notch, thanks to their manager, Bodrul & staff, as well as their amazing menu of incredibly tender Lamb Korma, generously stuffed Vegetable Somoza, thick yet savory Paneer, crispy Papadam, perfectly baked Garlic Naan, super-savory Coconut Curry (my NEW favorite curry), Rohu (delectable fish curry) and not-too-sweet (just right) Mango Lassis! For dessert, the manager recommended their Gulap Jammon, round, fried desserts made with cheeses & milk, then soaked in a sugary syrup (thank you Bodrul). So next time you're in Agoura Hills, check this awesome restaurant out-you'll be sorry if you didn't!! P.S.For you romantics, they even gave patio dining w/pretty lighting. Reservations recommended & plenty of free parking, too! More...

Came here for lunch in between work on a Wednesday. Around 1 pm the inside was pretty full because there was a large party taking up most of the center of the dining room and all the booths against the walls were taken except 1. I sat in the last one. The inside is cute and and darkly (in a good way) decorated, such as dark wood and deep red accents. The lunch specials are a great deal! They've gone up in price since the old photo menus posted are from more than 7 years ago, so they're like $12-15 now which is still a great price. You can pick an entree and it comes with soup or salad, rice and a half naan (2 large pieces). I decided to get the chicken korma medium spice and the soup, with water to drink. The soup was a kind of vegetable soup and tasted slightly bitter but was hot and filling. The chicken Korma was delicious and had great flavor, but wasn't spicy at all for me. I think I would definitely get extra hot next time. The rice was in good amount and the naan was well seasoned. I ended up taking some of all of it home, except the soup because it came out first and I finished it before anything else came haha. Overall a great deal, friendly and efficient staff, and nice ambiance. It was a little loud when I went due to the party but I didn't mind. Would come again especially for the lunch special! More...

Everyone got something different, but I got the only vegetarian dish which was Paneer Makhani, delicious! We also ordered rice and garlic naan-very fresh and hot! For dessert we got Mango Kulfi (mango ice cream) and Kheer (rice pudding). Both items were not very sweet so it was perfect! I will definitely be back! More...

A hot spot for curry! It's frankly a surprise to find this off Kanan. But, Lal Mirch was a gem to explore as the menu offers an endless variety of regional dishes made to excellence. The vibe is smart casual, with old-time English pub booths encircling the inside area. Most of the dishes emerging from the smoky aroma-smelling kitchen are clever and classic - think various versions of paneer range from healthy karai to the buttery smooth makhani, chargrilled mixed tandoori platters that offer both chicken and fish, regional biryanis and curries, plus a clutch of vegan options. Go for the intimate atmosphere, homely decor, and classy modern Indian cooking that doesn't disappoint. Almost every dish will make you swoon from the minute you walk in. My wife and I ordered 2 orders of Chicken Korma, level 10 spiciness to be delivered at our hotel 1/4 mile away from Lal Mirch. This has to be the best Chicken Korma we've had for a long time. The reason for the 1 star deduction is that we are used to having rice (very cheap to include) along with our meals like this. I didn't even ask for the rice because of our prior experience. Good thing I ordered 2 naan. We ate 1 meal with the naan and brought the other home, where we made rice bought at Trader Joe's, which was located right next door. Now THAT meal was 5 stars! More...

It was cool night tonight, and it felt like a spicy food, perhaps, would be perfect. Tuesday night made it tough to eat out. Coming home from work, I wanted to relax. So, we decided to eat in, instead. This is a few restaurant where you can try as spicy as your tongue can handle the heat from the spice. I tried it's "chicken Lal mirch lava", and the spices mix exploded inside my mouth, in deed, felt like a volcano explosion! Every taste buds felt like a red hot lava. However, the unforgettable nutty flavor from the curry mix will instill with you forever. Thinking about it makes me salivated & wanting to eat more.Tonight, though, we were not going to order the extreme heat flavoring dishes. We started with "vegetable samosa". The pungent sweet sauce complimented by green parsley sauce made the samosa reminded me as if I were eating it inside India. The cold climate took me back to reality. Then eating "lamb biryani rice" took me back to the country I grew up - Burma (name changed to Myanmar a century ago), where Indian food is a stable & comfort food for everyone who loves spicy food. Fresh spinach "saag paneer" may require acquired taste for some, but to me it was another stable vegetable dish. "Lamb masala" combine with "chicken tika masala" dishes had fulfilled my thirst for spicy food for a cold night like tonight!Since I haven't really sit down and eat inside this restaurant, the most I could give is a four-star rating out of four stars since service will be the final star if I were to use the five stars rating system. In short, if you like Indian cuisine, i will definitely recommend this place. If you want to up the ante to the spiciness, then go with "chicken lal Mirch lava". Ask the manager, and I'm sure he will oblige with your spiciness request. But, I might say, "enjoy, & namaste!". One more final notes, they do have exotic drinks and yogurt for those who wants to grease their inside naturally prior eating the spicy food.Note: photos were arranged and taken at home & not at the restaurant. OMG, tonight was so much better than their usual 5 Stars. We were celebrating a birthday (one of my girls is back in town) with a vegetarian. Muhammad/"Moe" says he answers to anything. (I jokingly went with calling him "Mary"). Note: I'm a twin and answer to any name starting with "M." Muhammad/"Moe" showed us a fantastic time, brought us complimentary dishes, and showed us just enough attention that we felt we were well taken care of without that intrusive claustrophobic feeling. The feast was INCREDIBLE! TIP: don't order extra naan with your meal. Wait to ask for more! Go with the Garlic and be glad you're going to get more FRESH because you're not going to want to leave those amazing saucy dishes with any of their gorgeous yummy-ness left over! Though, added bonus, we're getting to send leftovers with our favorite not-so-"starving college students!"At the very end, I excused my girls and our guest afterwards so I wouldn't embarrass them when I stepped up to their service station and applauded them!
