I felt as if I was back in the rat pack days. this quaint place really hit home (I/m a NYC born a bred) so the fact I spent a fair penny here is a testament , the only thing that keeps it form 5star was the server was nice but not as personable since it was only a few people here, but the food was magnificent

We were in Hollywood Beach for vacation and took a trip to the downtown area for the afternoon. After checking out several other Italians restaurants we decided on LaVendetta. The atmosphere was like an upscale supper club. The weather was beautiful os we opted to eat outdoors along the street. We have the mozzarella caprese for an appetizer and the spaghetti carbonara for the entree. The food was wonderful and the staff was very attentive. The one real draw back which is why we only gave it from stars was the music they were playing.  It was to loud for the type of restaurant and it sounded like Armenian Rap. We come here all the time for special occasions with 15 to 20 people.  Half the family is Romanian, and this place has two menus:  Italian and Romanian.  Mittitei and Sarmale are the two most common Romanian Dishes, and they make it really good here.  The portions are huge!!  You get an appetizer of feta cheese, salami, tomato, cucumber and eggplant dip which is almost a meal on its own.    Today the other half of the family ate Italian food, and they all liked their dishes too.    The service here is awesome, they really have their act together.  Also, this place is never busy, so it is very kid friendly and great for groups, my 2 year old son loved the pasta and meatballs. We arrived almost 3pm for lunch, by this time, I was surprised I was still alive and walking. Lol!!This is an Italian restaurant and also a Romanian restaurant. The decor is a bit cabaret for my taste. Staffs were very hospitable though. We ordered a few items to share. Gustare Taraneasca Vinete si Ardei Copti - I believe this is an appetizer and mainly made of egg plants. There was a roasted pepper which i personally found it a bit spicy. I really enjoyed this mashed egg plants dish - AMititei - traditional Romanian dish ie minced meat roll made of beef, served with fries. These were a bit heavy for me. They were good but I couldn't have more than one piece. A-Sarmalute in Foi de Varza - seasoned minced meat wrapped in cabbage, simmered in vegetable stock with herbs, served with polenta & sour cream. My favorite of all the three dishes. A+It doesn't hurt that I really love cabbage :)Papanas - looked like donuts drizzled in some fruit compote. They didn't taste like donuts though, it was good. Not too crazy about it. First time at a Romanian restaurant and it was a nice experience. Street parking is free for 3 hours. The restaurant is a medium sized indoor/outdoor spot in the middle of the neighborhood. Food was fresh and service was quick. Shrimp on arugula and tomatoes with a balsamic drizzle was flavorful and the perfect appetizer. Greek salad was large with fresh veggies and the option to add protein. They have Romanian or Italian food so it's a one stop shop for culinary experiences. Try their Romanian beer too! More...

Great place! Had dinner here and couldn't have left any more happier. They have an Italian menu and Romanian menu, both had reasonable prices. They give you bread with an olives in olive oil mixture which was great. My favorite part of the meal was the calamari, it was fresh and the sauce was very tasty. For the main course I had the veal parmigiana, the veal was very smooth and cheesy. It came with penne pasta in a very light red sauce. I like how light the sauces are because it's not overpowering or full of garlic. For dessert we had the Tiramisu, it was very good but it came with a chocolate drizzle which ruined it.The waitress was very attentive and popped in at the right amount of times to ask us how our meal was.  Definitely try this place out, looking forward to coming back to try the Romanian menu. So it was 1May and in my country it is traditionally to eat "mititei". I have to tell you that after 3 yrs since I've been away from my country and WOW their "mititei" brought back some memories. Ate there last night with a group of 4. We were the only ones inside the whole restaurant except for a few people who sat at the bar and seemed to have brought their own food and one table outside. That was strange. However, We all enjoyed our meals very much. For appetizers we chose the fried mozzarella which I would highly recommend. Not your usual sticks but a fairly large triangle of cheese seasoned, breaded and fried. It was delicious. We also had the fried calamari which was prepared very well however it was not served with marinara or sauce, it was just plain, but it was cooked just right, not rubbery, and it was tasty on it's own but we would have appreciated a sauce for it. We didn't ask about it.For entrees one had the Lasagna which was a very large serving, another a pasta and sauce dish. Both generous portions and they indicated they thought it was very good.  I had the veal medallions which were very, very good and had a delicious mushroom Alfredo sauce over it. My husband had the beef medallions which looked the same as the veal dish and it was also very tasty. They were served with a side of pasta which tasted OK but I thought the sauce was a little watery.  I forget the actual names they called these dishes but you get the idea.It took a while to get our meals even though there was no one else in the restaurant. The waiter was prompt, got the order right but was not overly friendly. The waiter came by with a chunk of Parmesan and grated some on your pasta if you wanted it. One thing we all noted was that the chairs might be a little old because you sank right down to the bottom when you sat on them. The restaurant was neat and clean. None of the other restaurants on that street were very busy either so guess Tues is just an off night for them.Overall we had a nice experience and all of us liked the food we received. Love love love, I grew up in NY and am part Italian, I have a high expectation when it comes to my food, lol, especially Italian food.  Vendetta has the best eggplant parmigiana from their appetizer list, I have had in Florida and better then most restaurants in NY.  The ambiance is always on point, and is the nicest restaurant on Hollywood Blvd hands down.  The Waitstaff is always extremely helpful.  My husband is Romanian,(From Romania) so he usually converses with our server and enjoys the Romanian cuisine as well.  I placed to-go orders over the phone on multiple occasions and they made me a special order of penne alla vodka (I had the biggest pregnancy craving for) that wasn't on the menu and it was amazing.  The hostess/server took my custom order with no hesitation and if you have ever worked in the restaurant business you know this is extremely rare for a chef/establishment to do.  They made my custom order no questions asked and did it to perfection. It's extremely hard to find a restaurant that can make red sauce right and they exceeded my expectations. For dessert the Romanian donuts are out of this world amazing. I believe I had the owner take my order when I went there specifically for the donuts and he was extremely helpful and kind. If I had unlimited amounts of money I would eat at this restaurant a couple of times a week.  Normal pricing for amazing food accompanied by a fancier/ more upscale ambiance. Definitely worth a try and would eat Italian food here over mama mias, any day. (Mama mias is overhyped, overpriced bad Italian). My favorite restaurant in South Florida, both the Romanian and Italian food are amazing. If you come here don't be afraid to order off the Romanian menu, it's exotic but oh so yummy. This place was the definition of perfection. Great location, food was spectacular, service was awesome. I got the tenderloin vendetta which was spectacular I was a little skeptical about the mustard part but they pulled it together spectacularly. DON'T GO HERE FOR ITALIAN FOOD. You can get that any time. I'm sure their Italian food is good, too. But, these folks are Romanian, and their Romanian food is very good. Between my friend and I, the mamaliga (Romanian polenta) appetizer, salata de muraturi, and tochitura dobrogeana (stew, served with a side of mamaliga) was plenty. We started off with shots of tuica, Romanian plum liquor. Not the same as grandma's homemade swill, but I hear Romania is now industrializing the tuica industry, so it looks like factory-made tuica will soon become the norm. The food was so delicious. Really good customer service ! My waitress was awesome making sure we had everything we needed. The wine was great, the food was good, atmosphere was pleasant! They had a combination of international live music. We celebrated my grandmothers 80th birthday and they even provided us with a complimentary cake which was delicious ! Returned to La Vendetta for appetizers and drinks. Again, the service was excellent. Our appetizers- the meatballs and the chicken bruschetta, were fine but not, like, wow- so scrumptious. I don't fault them, however, for not having really amazing food because my expectations are not that high for most places in the area. The seating, however, is especially comfortable on their front porch, and I like that. We were going to sit at the bar inside, but several big screen TV's were showing sports and we wanted something more intimate. The thing is about this place is that I ordered the Vandetta Cosmo, and it was a really great cocktail. I just had a cosmo at a South Beach restaurant on Lincoln Rd last night that just didn't compare to the La Vandetta cosmo. So, that's one reason to go to La Vandetta for me because it was a very enjoyable drink. I would definitely return to La Vandetta for the nice presentation and service that they provide there, even if the food isn't five star. Perhaps next time I'll order something that I'll be really impressed with, but it will come with the Vandetta Cosmo. More...

An awesome experience! Both Italian and Romanian food (two menus). I enjoyed very authentic Romanian food (polenta - "mamaliga" appetizer and for main course a smoked pork leg and sauerkraut) - the taste was just right (I was raised in Romania) and the portions were huge (at a very good price)! My wife tried the goulash and a meatball soup (ciorba de perisoare) which were both great. The waiter was very attentive and friendly and the food was prepared quickly. There's live music! Also the waiters all wear Fedoras :) Their bar is fully stocked and they have a lot of wines too. We enjoyed a large dessert (ordered one dessert but more than enough to share) called papanasi. Came here for lunch last week with my mother for the first time! This place is high end, with great prices. The restaurant itself is beautiful and elegant. Staff was very welcoming and seated us right away. We shared the eggplant parmigiana and the house pesto. Both were delicious, just the right amount of ingredients.. just perfect! My girlfriend and I visited here last night. I have walked by this restaurant many times and was never curious enough to go in but last night there was absolutely no parking and they have valet and it was kinda last resort. So the catch is you can valet at $5 if you eat there, so we caved. The valet were very friendly and at tentative they even had the car waiting on the way out. The inside of the restaurant is nice maybe a bit to bright but nice and welcoming. My friend loved the fedora hats the servers wore along with the button long sleeved shirts and black pants. We found out it is Italian fare and Romanian fare as well. Will try that next time. On Friday and Saturdays there is live entertainment which was nice. Our server was friendly and attentive. The bread is thick hot and homemade with olive chunks in the oil. Pretty good!I ordered a mojitho  and I have to say it is by far thee best I have ever had in all my years. Florentina made them. The ice was chipped/jagged and the mint was so fresh you could smell it. It was so smooth and ice cold. They are costly but worth every penny. ($11.95 per )I ordered the tilapia francese with angel hair  and my friend ordered arugula salad. Both meals were visually freshly made. The tilapia was a big size and had 3 shrimp on top accompanied with the angel hair and red beautiful tomatoes and sauce. Fresh pepper and Parmesan was added. This meal was big but it was so mouth watering excellent that you just couldn't stop eating it, it was that good. The salad was equally delicious. The music and environment was lovely. Great date night we both wished our husband were with us.:) at the end if the meal she ordered flan which is homemade as well. I have never been a fan of flan but this flan was so damn good it was devilish. It is pricy. My total bill including 2 mojithos plus tip was close to $40.00 dollars but the whole entire experience was worth every penny from the valet to desert.
