I've been here many times before. I usually only come to the bakery section I've never tried their food. When you get to the bakery side you have to take a number and it does get busy so the best way to some help. They help customers fast and efficiently the workers are also very nice they are very knowledgeable about the different baked products they sell. So if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask because they are pretty nice about answering any questions.I'm a huge fan of their nicoise cake. It's not overwhelmingly sweet, it's very flavorful, moist and spongy. It's a very delicious cake. I usually come to order this cake for birthdays. It's a simple yet beautiful cake. In the past I've ordered the 8 inch Nicoise which is priced about $32. Today I ordered a 6 inch for $24 it's a cute little personal cake perfect for 2 to 4 people. First time back in a long time. I forgot about the whole getting a ticket and they call your # system. Met up with a friend here. I ordered in and to go but didn't pay too much attention to the names of the pastry. Sorry. There wasn't any labels. Pros is the pastry is delicious and the white chocolate mocha was yummy. Cons is people standing around waiting to be called to order. A few people kept bumping into my friend and I. Other than that they have this system down. Staff was friendly and it was very busy. So busy I almost walked out. But I’m glad I stayed. The pastries were SO good!! Service was fast! The only disappointing thing was the price. When the cashier told me my total I almost fainted. $55 for a small cake and 3 pastries? And I added a tip so I walked out $60+ My goodness!!!! This was what I have been looking for since I've moved here from Japan. My husband and his mother-in-law suggested me their nicois cake so we ordered it over the phone and picked it up on Saturday. The appearance of the cake was so pretty, there were different kind of fresh fruits on the top and almonds on the sides. (There were more fruits inside too) The moisture of the cake, the cream, the fruits, etc... all the balance of the cake was just so perfect! The best bakery in Fresno. The prices are great, the service is great, and I have been coming here since I can remember. My go to is the strawberry danish or the lemon danish. Other great things to get are the chocolate croissants, cream brioche, blueberry brioche, cream puff, bear claw, and ham and cheese croissant. This was a wonderful way to start a weekend. The food was delicious. I had the chicken salad on a flakey, buttery crossiant with a side pasta salad. I had to go back in to "take a number" for the beautiful display of baked goods. I nibled cookies all the way home. The pecan sandies were my favorite. Amazing place! We stopped for lunch during a road trip and this was such a worthwhile detour! (And super easy to get to from the 41) I had the French dip with a side salad, my husband ordered the turkey reuben and the kids had french onion soups. The portions were generous and the flavor, freshness and quality unmatched! The french bread my dip was on had perfect texture. *I would also like to note that the girl who helped us went above and beyond* by offering my 6 yr old son, who was being a bit tempermental, a taster of the soup while we were ordering. They were very busy and this was just such an unexpected courtesy. We also had to hit up the bakery side of the cafe. My daughter had the cannoli. It must have been good because it disappeared quickly (she says "amaaaazing") we also tried the delicious cherry croissant and some amazing croissant/danish that was piled with strawberries and had a base of a lightly sweet cream cheese. I haven't tried the seasonal apricot filled croissant but I am sure it will be just as awesome as the others. Also bought some baguettes and the ones we have tried so far are great. Wish I could pack this whole place up and bring it home with me! Will definitely make a point of returning whenever I am in the area! More...
