This restaurant is mostly excellent. The shrimp and grits were outstanding. The key lime pie was exceptional, too. Service is slow and a little spotty.

Excellent service and great southern food. I ordered the veggie plate (beans and rice gets 11 stars) and was stuffed when I left there. The owner is also AMAZING! She stops and talks to the customers and even gives out hugs to repeat customers. They are moving but we are following them to their new spot also. More...

Let's hope they do reopen on August 29 as posted.New grandchild and first granddaughter was born on June 4 and about three weeks later we drove down to meet the young lady. They live in Marietta which is just a short distance away and we had booked our hotel near Town Center Mall which is close to them and close to this restaurant.We had made plans to dine her before but could not get reservations anywhere near the time we wanted.This time, we called earlier and got what we considered to be an appropriate time.Took us about 10 minutes to drive there but we did have to stop and activate the GPS because it's further up Cobb Pkwy ( US Hwy41) than we thought.We got there are the appointed time and were promptly seated. Moderately busy but filled up quickly and the staff did a great job accommodating everyone.Interesting take on Southern Comfort Food old favorites with unique twists.I started with the Fried Oysters and they were great but what made them great was the unique dipping sauce. Not a seafood sauce but rather chunky with a great balance of heat and spice.My wife had the Fried Chicken Salad and she liked it but was not a fan of the breading on the Chicken but pretty good anyway. Bounteous portions with much more that just lettuce and a very good dressing to go with it.For my entrée, I had the Meatloaf. The Meatloaf by itself we excellent but it came served with a tomato sauce that was more of a Bar-B-Que sauce that distracted from the delicate taste of the Meatloaf. If you were going more with a Bar-B-Que sauce, something more like a Memphis style would have worked better.Service is great and the décor is nice and relaxing with a touch of elegance.Really liked it and will definitely give it another try a bit later. WoW!! I’ll start with how friendly our server was. A total class act along with the Manager who both made me and my wife feel so welcome and at home. Next was the Sangria my wife had was fantastic according to her happy self. Now to the most important part, the food. Lawd Have Mercy! I had the full order of Trout which was absolutely huge and fresh and amazing and squash casserole for my side. A half order would be plenty but I was hungry. ;) My Wife had the Crab Cakes and Cabbage for her side. She said she had never had better. We finished it all off with the Red Velvet Cheesecake. My family and I made reservations for my husbands birthday dinner for a party of 12. We had never experienced L. Marie’s Southern Cuisine and to say the least we were beyond delighted with the service and food! My husband and brother-in-law had the gator po boy, I had the grilled salmon with Mac and cheese. For one...the absolute BEST and I do mean BEST Mac and cheese I have ever had and I consider myself an expert! salmon was the best salmon I have also ever had and I also consider my self an expert on salmon as well. My husband...well all 12 of us could not have been more satisfied with the exceptional service and phenomenal food! Everyone was so sweet and attentive. Outstanding all homemade food hit the spot after a long drive to Florida. Everyone was very friendly and the service was fast. Started with a salad with homemade blue cheese and ranch. Very creamy and hit the spot. Next was the shrimp and grits and the wife got the fried chicken and Mac & Cheese. Grits were some of the best I have had. The wife found her dish very tasty and a true comfort food. We ended the meal with some sweat and tart Key Lime pie with a handmade graham cracker crust and banana pudding. Again outstanding homemade food. We hope to stop back for the peach cobbler. We meet the owner on the way out meal planning for the next week. She offered to make a desert for us next Saturday. This place has some of the best southern cooking I've ever tasted! Everything on their menu is killer! My one complaint is their hours, it's difficult to eat here when I want to because their hours are so odd for a restaurant. I have to plan out times to eat because everyday they are open (which isn't often) they have different hours. I love the food but I wish they offered more ways and days to get food. For example, it's it's during the week they should offer takeout and to-go orders. Or on Sunday they should open for the full day for Sunday dinner.Overall. Omg....the kale and turnip greens were amazing! My husband said he could've eaten an entire plate of them, came home and started looking up recipes so we can learn how to make kale. Ox tails are my favorite dish and theirs were so tender and flavorful. I enjoyed every side I ordered and can't wait to go back and try all of the others. We enjoyed the food and atmosphere. I had the vegetable plate and it was filling! It was a bit cold inside but we were advised the heat was off to minimize the wet floors from the our wet shoes coming in from the rain. There was a server with colorful hair who provided the BEST customer service. Our waitress was a little hard to hear but when the server came out, she had great energy. I can tell the vibe is "getting there". I wish there was the live Jazz band they advertised on their site. It would have really made a difference just to have some sort of entertainment or background music. That would have made it more lively. Overall, great establishment. More...

We decided at the last minute to go out and we wanted to try someplace we've never been. We could not have picked a better place. Every single thing about our experience here was perfect from the moment that we walked in to eating my leftovers the next day. We were greeted and promptly seated. I appreciated that they weren't seating everyone in the same area, it's as if everyone was seated so that we can enjoy our conversation and not have to hear everyone else's. We ordered both meals off of the specials of the day and they were excellent! Perfectly seasoned and the steak was cooked as ordered. The Mr said it's like it melted in his mouth. He usually drowns his food in sauces which he ordered but didn't use them at all. I ordered one of the drink specials and it was perfect! Our server was extremely pleasant, knowledgeable, and personable. The service we received was along the same lines of the service you receive at a fine dining restaurant. The ambiance was perfect for date night. We will be back! Entree's: Perfectly marinated steak and shrimp w/cabbage and sweet potato soufflé, blackened red snapper sasquatch over dirty rice w/ a crawfish sauce. The owner is the sweetest! The food is very well portioned as well as delicious. Was too full to try dessert this time. I had the mac n cheese and sweet potato mash alongside the fried trout. It was crispy perfection! It came with a lemon butter sauce which complemented the trout nicely. The tea was southern sweet, and the water didn't taste of tap.
