Like people, dogs learn in different ways. That's why we train using a variety of methods. While treats, clickers, and remote collars tend to be the most well-known methods, we won't make a recommendation until we have a chance to evaluate your dog and determine what will work best for the both of you.

I sent my Belgian Malinois puppy “Loki” with Shelby for initially 7 days, then after speaking with Shelby about his performance, we decided to keep him there for 3 additional days. I couldn’t be more pleased with the outcome. Loki is now crate trained, house broken, leash trained and knows his basic commands. I highly recommend Shelby and Kyser K-9’s. More...

Shelby did a great job with our corgi, Jim. We were definitely at our wits end with him. We did the 10 day board and train and he came back a new dog. Walks on a leash without choking himself out, knows place, break, off, down, etc. Shelby did a great job keeping us updated with videos and pictures throughout the 10 days. We are so appreciative! He’s been back since to board with her while we’ve been on vacation and he is so psyched to see her! Definitely highly recommend. More...

We had a great experience with Shelby. Our 2 pit puppies (19 wks and 15 wks) went to Shelby for 10-day board and train and I am pleased to say, they “graduated”! Leash training, basic commands, even their puppy demeanor had improved during their boarding school stint. Shelby kept us updated with photos and videos and has even come out for an in-home refresher now that the pups are back in their home environment. Absolutely the best training experience I’ve ever had! Shelby was so great to work with and very accommodating to schedules from picking up to even dropping him back off and worked on every issue that I needed done with Marlin! Best dog training experience I have ever had!
Shelby has trained both of my dogs a border collie and a German Shepherd full of energy.
I love that I was always getting video updates on their progress as well as knowing that they were in her home and not just a random building left unattended at night. What really sold me on Kyser k9 was the ability to have open communication with my trainer even after they finished their board and train program. I am always able to schedule a FaceTime correction session with Shelby to keep their training on par. I cannot recommend Shelby and Kyser k9 more!
