Twice a year we drive across country and stop for the night in Oklahoma City. We always look forward to eating at Kwan's Kitchen.  The food is delicious, the atmosphere pleasant and the surroundings beautiful. We happen to travel with our dogs so the friendly staff accommodates us on their patio. It is wonderful to be able to get such a reasonably priced yet gourmet meal. We highly recommend it! More...

Absolutely one of my new favorite OKC restaurants. The food is delicious- we got the Peking duck, lamb, steak, and pork steamed buns. Each dish was so flavorful and the meat incredibly tender. The duck and pork were my favorite but everything had its own original flavor and you can't go wrong! The staff were so genuinely friendly and attentive, and very helpful when it came to navigating every section of the menu. Plus the atmosphere is excellent. Felt like a fancy hotel in Shanghai, and the seating was very comfortable - lots of seating available but still feels intimate. Their cocktails were also excellent and very well crafted. Couldn't recommend this place more! More...

A friend of mine and I came here for the brunch service that includes dim sum. I have had dim sum before and I'm not honestly a huge fan, but my friend is, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. The atmosphere is just stunning in there. I was seated in the bar area which has some beautiful artwork nearby, that I was pleased to be able to gaze at while waiting for my friend to show up. The staff took a little bit of time to stop and chat with me as I waited, to explain some things about the menu and really just to be friendly, so I really appreciated that. Once my friend showed up we started perusing the menu together and decided on some Peking duck and started making orders of the dim sum. The duck was perfect. It was crispy skinned on the outside and so flavorful and tender and juicy on the inside. They had it sliced into pieces and it was just delicious! The dim sum selection was plentiful and we tried several different things. To my delight I enjoyed every single one of them, far more than I had at previous places I had tried. My favorite was probably the broccoli which was crisp-tender and had delicious, light sauce. I will definitely come back again for the dim sum service, but I also really want to try their regular menu! More...

We stopped in yesterday morning for dim sum. (We usually go to Fung's for dim sum or, in a pinch, Grand House.)Now, I'm remarkably picky about my dim sum, and I (clearly) take it very seriously. (Yeah. I'm THAT kind of foodie. My Chinese friends all say I should have been born Cantonese given how seriously I take my dim sum.)No dim sum repast is complete for me without the pan-fried radish cake, a bowl of tripe seasoned with ginger, some shrim shumai, and a handful of other delicacies I only get when I go for dim sum.All of the dishes I ordered were perfectly prepared and absolutely delicious, but I was slightly disappointed in the lack of gingery piquancy in the tripe. The roast pork, on the other hand, exceeded all my expectations with its crunchy skin and perfectly soft, rich layer of fat.Our service was certainly top rate from the start of our meal to its close -- very friendly and refreshingly eager. The venue was immaculately clean, and the restrooms were no exception.Parking? It was more than ample.I THINK that there's some business connection with the folks who owned Dot Wo, but maybe I just heard incorrect information. (I dunno.)In any case, count on five easy Yelp stars from THIS grumpy, bald foodie. My husband (another dim sum fanatic) had a blast, and we will certainly return. More...

Hey!  We're strangers in town (most of you won't know what that means). BUT, we were and we found a really great asian/chinese bistro - eloquent in stature and very almost Taj Mahal in command of presence. Complex sauces wound around the proteins, duck, beef, lamb as each different meat had their own story.Kwans did a really great job of elevating the presentation, the soft approach to flavor; blending and mixing ingredients with all of the right elements integrated into the finished dish.Such great hosts and staff, everyone is so respectful.   We loved everything.  No bad here!!  We live in Chicago, so we have experience in bad - go to Kwans Kitchen in  OKC, it's worth the trip. The restaurant was very beautiful. It is a very welcoming atmosphere, whether there is a packed house, or only a few customers. The bathroom is as beautiful as the restaurant itself, and is incredibly clean. The food was delicious. Our dim sum appetizer was very hot, and was shortly followed by the main courses. The appetizer itself contained much more than we expected, and we were very pleased with its juicy, fresh taste. The entrees themselves were outstanding! The food was as hot as the appetizer, and was also very appealing to the mouth. The menu had a wide variety of choices including: salads, sea food, poultry, and vegetarian dishes!Everything has its flaws. It is a bit pricey, but I guarantee you will not be disappointed with the service and the meals. There is even live music during dinner hours. Violin, piano, and more I'm sure, as we had a late lunch/early dinner and left when they started setting up.I would recommend this restaurant for a special occasion. Once again, great atmosphere, great food, great service. We will definitely be eating here again! More...

I completely forgot they did Dum Sum until I showed up. I ordered a glass of rose, Le P'tir Payson from California which is a mixture of mourvedre, Grenache and cindault grapes. It was excellent abs priced well at $10 a glass. Their roast duck was excellent. Good sized pieces and excellent flavor. Their fried dumplings were just eh, not good not bad. Their tofu skin balls is to die for. It's pork wrapped in tofu skins in a thick meaty sauce. I've never had them before and they were so good. If you don't like tofu you'll still like it, because the tofu is just the wrapper.I then ordered sweet tofu pudding with ginger sauce. I loved it, but if you don't like tofu or ginger it would be wasted on you. More...

I've now been to Kwan's way more times than I can count. I initially started coming for Dim Sum. Dim Sum is served on Saturdays and Sundays from open to 3:00 I think. The Dim Sum is done well, traditional carts and trays being whisked by with all sorts of yummy food. Some of my favorites include chinese broccoli, shrimp shumai (sp?), and shrimp crepes. I've also now been for dinner a few times. It's a little inconsistent, but my first visit was incredible. A following visit was a little bland. However, Tyler, our server made up for it.Is it perfect? No. Is it worth it? Yes. Dim Sum up North is a HUGE plus. They've already redone the dinner menus to have a more focused outlook on items not seen at other Chinese restaurants. I guess you could  say some of that French inspiration is there?Anyways, go to Kwan's. I need them to stay open forever! More...
