What inspired you to start your own business?
According to the California Department of Housing and Community Development, most cities and counties in California, are failing to meet the housing requirements for the State’s growing population. Housing prices have gotten so exorbitant that the bottom portion of the State’s earners spend the majority of their earnings on housing, creating a cycle of poverty that can only be broken by the creation of more affordable and available quality living spaces. The segments of the population that are the hardest hit are the seniors and others on fixed income, the lower-wage earners, and the young adults as they embark on their professional journey. Additionally, today upward mobility in real estate is almost a thing of the past. Many of us cannot afford to move to a larger home for that much needed extra bedroom, office or cottage. By creating scalable spaces on land that is already yours, Kubed Living offers homeowners the opportunity of improving their quality of life, either by renting out space for additional income, helping families live together, or simply enjoying more space. It also contributes to the solution of the housing crisis by providing more affordable rental opportunities.

Passionate about finding solutions for the home and business owner, she founded Kubed Living which is the synthesis of her experiences in real estate, design and business. Katalina holds an MBA and a Real Estate Broker’s license.
