Peruvian food with a view? yes please.Took my husband out on a lunch date here, a quaint little spot but such a pretty view of the beach. There's street parking around the corner; just pay the meter if you do find a spot.We decided to sit out in the patio. Service was great and food came out quickly. We ordered the two color tiradito which is ceviche, fresh cut fish with lemon juice and other seasonings. Fresh and so tender. There are multiple kinds of ceviche to choose from too. I absolutely love their causa which is a mixture of chicken salad and mashed potatoes.I ordered the arroz con mariscos which is fried rice with seafood. That was tender and so flavorful. If you're looking for good Peruvian food by the coast, I highly recommend checking this place out! Food was fresh and affordable. They also have some good dessert and drink options. More...

The food was absolutely delicious and the customer service was 100% on point! The tamal had great flavor (it has roasted peanuts which made it even tastier), the toasted croissant with eggs and salmon was tasty and cooked very well and the toasted croissant with avocado was delicious! Again, the customer service was great especially our waitress, Anais was very sweet! Highly recommend this place! More...

Best ceviche trio I have ever have, the best was ceviche trio amazing the tuna ceviche with passion vinaigrette wow!!! What a punch of flavors, I give 4 star because we order also copa25 with the catch of the day and it was not that great, other than that love this place is a little small it is not a lot room is a place where you go for a good quick bite or for lunch but not for date nite or group eating!

In the interest of full disclosure, this restaurant had a major advantage coming into it - It has possibly my favorite dish in the world, which I no longer have regular access to - Lomo Saltado. In further full disclosure, it had a major disadvantage as well - It is being measured by that favorite dish, and for that I have really high hopes/expectations.I like the setting, with indoor or outdoor seating with an ocean view. Â I sat indoors. Ordered the lomo saltado and was brought some fried corn to munch on. Â Fried corn wasn't my thing, but I didn't have to wait long for the main dish. Big pieces of steak are a big plus, although mine was fairly tough. Â The portion size was good, but it seemed a little off on the flavor - I was ready for a little more punch. Â I asked for some aji verde to add but was given some red hot sauce and what I think was possibly huancaina. Â Whatever it was, when added in they really made the dish. Â Most reviews say go here for the seafood, and if I visit again I may give that a try. The $20 price tag seemed a bit high, but I realize I'm comparing it to the prices at smaller/simpler places that specialize in pollo la brasa. Still, I'd prefer the lomo saltado I discovered at those joints. Â Still, it's my favorite cuisine and dish - and there were other dishes going out that looked and smelt amazing. More...

Last night at Kousine Peruvian Kitchen was fantastic! It was a pleasant evening so we sat outdoors and started with a white blend Peruvian wine and a mixed ceviche platter. Did everything I could to restrain from drinking the remaining liquid. The sliced octopus with tiny potatoes was perfectly cooked and had great flavor and consistency. The sauteed beef and vegetable dish with fried rice had Asian influences, and arrived with yucca slices mixed in to soak up the tasty sauce. I didn't care for the tomato slices cooked in, but that was such a minor component as to be mostly irrelevant. Last dish was prawns with veggies, also very good. The finale was a delicious creme brulee bread pudding a la mode (not pictured because we ate it before allowing the ice cream to melt). Service was attentive and More...

We had amazing food at kousine. The space is quite intimate -- 19 people inside. We got there at 5pm on a Saturday and it was pretty packed but there was a table for us. We ordered the coupa -- which was a ceviche with thick spices so the sauce is dark -- topped with fridge calamari and la causa which is tuna tartar with avocado and mashed potato and a seafood paella. It was all fantastic. We are coming from New England where we think we get pretty good seafood, but this place blew us out of the water (no pun intended). Unique flavors, great presentation. The only thing was that in general the food was a little saltier than we are used to. More...

I came for lunch today and it was wonderful. We sat outside and had such pleasant service. Our waiter was very clearly proud of the menu and ingredients. I got a seafood soup and my friend got fish ceviche. We shared and really loved both items. It was a little loud on the street with the traffic at times but it was great otherwise. Our waiter was always there but not annoying. I wish we had time for dessert but I had an appt so we couldn't stay. . More...

What a great find thanks to Yelp! I'm not sure I would have sought out Peruvian food however I'm glad I did. I've only had ceviche one other time but I was intrigued at this opportunity. Jose was our server and was very helpful and informative. We started with the Cebiche Kousine and the flavors were fantastic. Jose suggested adding fried calamari which I wouldn't have normally done but I'm glad we did. It was by far the best calamari I've ever had. Not overly fried and extremely tender. The fish was great as well. Next was the paella which Jose wisely suggested we use the juice from the cebiche to mix in. Another great idea! If I had a minor complaint, I'd want more seafood in the paella. All together it was a great meal. Check it out and tell Jose Vargas hello! More...

Randomly stubbled upon this gem yesterday. My fiance and I are both vegetarians, so we typically steer away from Peruvian food. They did however have several vegetarian and vegan options. They were ALL amazing and full of flavor. We were initially greeted by a very sweet server, and then sat outside to enjoy the beautiful sunset. You should DEFINITELY give this place a try. More...

I heard about this head chef via reviews, and let me tell you something.... flavors were out of this world. I ordered the ahi tuna passion fruit appetizer and it was fuego! I ordered the chicken empanadas and had to order 2 to go  the classic ceviche I had I ordered with the catch of the day was with grouper--super fresh. My partner ordered the pollo Saltado which had soy sauce as a base and gave it a nice sweet savory flavor. I can't wait to come back and try more ceviche! Fabulous. We were waiting to check into the Sonesta Hotel right next door. Kousine is just steps away and the menu looked great. Turned out, the food was just as good as it sounded! The menu is not typical of a Peruvian restaurant in the DC area as it was full of interesting seafood choices. The service was 5 stars worthy as well. Were ordered the La Copa ceviche and the paella. They were both beautiful and yummy. I will let the photos speak for themselves this time. I also tried the white sangria, I usually order red, but it was a win also. The restaurant is located right across from the beach off of the main road. Its not a huge place but has outdoor tables so the views and sounds of the beach were everything! More...
