Absolutely horrible customer service

Disappointed and dissatisfied doesn’t even come close to explain how I feel in regards of this kennel. They have had kennel cough going around for weeks and by the looks of these other reviews months. My puppy spent 4 days in ICU in critical condition, fully reliant on 10L of oxygen because he contracted bronchopneumonia. I initially called and was told I was going to be contacted by the manager. 2 days later I finally received a call back from Kirsten. My main point was that his hospitalization and pneumonia in general could have been avoided if everyone (not only the lodging dogs) had been made aware of the kennel cough outbreak the moment they found out. Especially because they have had known cases for WEEKS. Kirsten then told me it had been going around and he could’ve contracted it anywhere, and they had only heard from lodging dogs that they had kennel cough. She proceeded to explain their sanitization procedures of closing off sections. I was initially told the outbreak was only in the lodgers however after further questioning with Kirsten she explained that they actually do take out the daycare and lodgers together “at times” and they are not able to shut those areas down. Group A and B go to the same play area and there is no way to separate them. (Those include lodgers). I told her everyone should have been made aware and it would’ve likely prevented his hospitalization. She then told me there was no way to prevent it. I stated it would’ve been prevented if everyone had been made aware because I would’ve taken a break from bringing him there, therefore he wouldn’t have contracted it since that is the only place he socializes. All she could tell me is that they had been handing out flyers like crazy, but not once did I receive one or hear about it. I also want to mention that it seemed like she was trying to cover up the severity of the situation by saying they had only recently as of this week heard of multiple dogs having kennel cough. I contradicted her explaining how last monday (7/26) my friends had picked up their dog at the same time I dropped off my puppy and they received a kennel cough hand out. And I did Not receive one, or even hear anything about it. When my friends found out my puppy was in ICU they questioned if I had seen the handout and all the other cases from Facebook. I had to find out through them that kountry had been having kennel cough go around. This further emphasized my point that everyone should have been made aware of the breakout. Another one of these reviews actually lost their puppy. My vet and the ER vets stated they were getting a lot of sick dogs that go to kountry come in recently. Save your dog’s life. Save thousands in ER bills. Do not bring your pets here. Please. (I posted this on google and yelp as well) More...

If you are considering boarding your dog here please read current reviews. The owner is deceitful and can not explain why your dog went in healthy and when picked up is in need of emergency vet care. These is not the same place it was two years ago. AVOID this place if you love your pet More...

A booked my senior dogs in an expensive suite so I can look in on them via Webcam. First, they put them in the standard caged area until i noted that the suites are on the other side of the building. So glad i caught that! Next, after I've left them i could not view anything. Webcam has supposedly been down for over 24 hrs. I've asked for a verbal update or pictures. A call back was promised but never happened. I've left 4 messages that have gone unanswered. Very concerned about the care my poor seniors are receiving. This is the second day of no one responding. How hard is it for someone to at least go in and take a picture with their phone? More...

I boarded my 5 month old Goldendoodle at Kountry pet for the 10 day lodge and learn program. On Friday, April 16, 2021 (7 days into her program) we get at call at appropriately 8:30 in the morning informing us that our healthy puppy was suddenly not eating and was lethargic. They went ahead and let us know we needed to pick her up and take her to the vet because she had miraculously changed over night. Upon picking up my dog, Jared walked my lethargic puppy out to the door, the same puppy that they deemed “lethargic” that was visibly struggling to walk. I immediately picked up my sick puppy and was shooed out the door. Jared walked out with me and stated “we will figure out payment later.” In a moment like this, payment is the last thing they should be worried about. After taking our puppy, Duncan, to her vet, she was transferred to Veterinary Specialist Center in critical condition. Unfortunately, 24 hours later, we had to put Duncan to sleep because of the state she was in. During her 24 hours at VSC (Veterinary Specialist Center), Kountry Pet didn’t once call to check in on our puppy. In fact we needed to call and let them know any sort of update that we received about our pup. While Duncan was hospitalized, we received a bit more detailed timeline of her stay at Kountry Pet. At approximately 5 am Friday morning, the nutritionist turned the lights on and tried feeding our puppy. At this point, Duncan would not eat her food. They noted this and decided to try to make her go to outside thinking she was constipated. When that did not work, they tried to feed her beef and rice. This wasn’t successful either. After these attempts, we still weren’t notified. The last resort before informing my family of our dogs manner, the vet tech decided to give my dog fluids under her skin. These fluids were in fact her personal property that she uses for her dog. None of these efforts worked for my dog and none were okayed by myself. That’s when they decided to call my family at 830 am to let us know. Why wasn’t I asked or informed there were doing these things to my 5 month old puppy? It comes to find out that these 3 and a half hours were crucial hours for my dog and if they had notified me as soon as they noticed the change in behavior, the outcome could be much different. Duncan passed away from aspirational pneumonia. I’m in no way saying that Kountry Pet is responsible for my dogs sickness (but rethinking that after reading other reviews), but I am confidentiality stating they were neglectful and lacked urgency when notifying my family in a timely manner in response to my dogs behavior. I never want anyone to have to put their 5 month old puppy to sleep because of this facilities negligence and lack of urgency. After contacting the facility upon Duncan’s passing, we were asked to collect all medical bills and forward those bills to them and further to their insurance company. We did that as soon as they asked (approximately a month ago). A few weeks ago, we receive a message that their insurance company has denied our requests and will not be held responsible. When I came on here and saw the two other reviews and how they stated their dogs had also suffered in the hands of Kountry Pet, I decided to finally write my own review. There is absolutely some thing happening at this facility. They won’t allow any security footage to be shared. I believe something is hidden in those videos and that is their way to cover their negligence. I won’t stop until I get answers. I’ve called a handful of times to talk to management, but not one person has returned any of my calls. Sending my puppy here was a big mistake. More...

We boarded our dog here for 6 days when we got him back he had an upper respiratory infection and a large wound on his testicles. A worker said 2 other owners reported their dogs being sick when coming home from there and we were never contacted. We exposed our senior dog to him and now he may be sick too. He told us the wound was probably from either a cleaning chemical they use that is “dog friendly” or the dog did it to himself. He said they would send some powder and a cone with their driver to our house to keep him from licking and it never arrived. When I finally got a call back from the owner she was extremely unapologetic and essentially told me it was our fault because we didn’t pay extra to have him taken out more than just the standard “walk” they offer with the boarding. Which turns out to just be a 5 minute in and out not a walk at all. She said they would not pay for any of the medical bills even though we paid for the extra insurance. She tried to turn it around on us like it is not fair to our dog to keep him their while we are on vacation without paying for the extra playtime. That is a service her business offers and no where does it say it’s bad for them not to get the add on play time. When I obviously became upset about her not offering any help and called her out on offering a service she herself said was not fair or good for our dog she told me that I could find a new place to bring our dog and if I wanted the powder and cone I could come get it myself and they would not bring me anything. I requested security footage from the kennel to make sure the dog was not abused in any way and she refused to share anything with me saying there was privacy laws for the dogs, give me break. I understand things happen and if she had any remorse and just tried to help I would not be writing this review. It is unfortunate that just because she has been in business for a long time she feels it is okay to treat people and especially their pets in this way. More...

This is our favorite place to board my dogs. Kirsten and her staff are so friendly and I completely trust them with our fur-kids. This was my first time dropping my precious baby off at a daycare and I was admittedly nervous. I tried to avoid daycare because I’ve seen some things I didn’t like at a daycare in the past I worked at. Let me tell you, I was so happily surprised! We walked in and were immediately greeted, immediately helped, and listened to my thousands of questions and concerns. Not to mention the property and facilities are GORGEOUS. Like, human-hotel gorgeous. All stone and wood and it was reassuring to know my dog would not be staying at some dumpy place right off the bat. The landscaping was beautiful, well-kept. I’m not normally one to care about that but I was impressed. I toured the facility and it didn’t smell like dog, except for back area where you’d expect it to smell like dog in any daycare place. The suites are so fun! Different themes and they allow the top doors to be open so the dogs aren’t essentially locked up with no contact. They can see and hear the rest of the area if they’d like to.The people at the desk were so kind and were happy to have my dog, and that’s the most important part. I like the fact that they do extensive temperament testing to ensure the safety of my dog and others. He wouldn’t hurt a fly, but I know most dogs behave differently when they’re not around their own humans, so I’m glad to know he was well guarded. Nicole was so informative both on the phone and during the tour. When I picked Ozzie up, I heard the employees talking to him before they brought him out to the lobby, praising him for sitting at the door (which is something I have been training him to do, but did not mention to the employees. They recognized his behavior!) and when they did bring him out, they told me he did a great job and was playful and excited. So happy to hear that, especially as an anxious dog-mom. He didn’t smell at ALL, which was a big factor for me in choosing a daycare.Although this place is out of my way to work, I will willingly bring him here because I am so impressed with the level of care, the enthusiasm of the employees, and the beautiful, CLEAN facilities. This review is lengthy, but I wanted to make sure everyone looking for a daycare got the message: choose KPR! More...

Kountry Pet Resort has been a life changer for our family. Our past dogs have been couch potatoes and we never had a need for day camp or training. After the passing of our last couch potato ☹️ we ended up getting a dog that kept us on our toes on a daily basis. She would get into garbage, open doors, cabinets, drawers needless to say we were not prepared for this little trouble maker. We tried a few day camps and training places close to home and had some issues.I gave Kountry Pet Resort a call and talked to Kirsten, who was extremely informative about the right type of training and day camp. By the end of the conversation I was at ease and absolutely confident this is was the right place for our little trouble maker. We ended up deciding to give it a try and see how it works out, even though its a 30 minute commute. Well, It’s now been 7 years and we haven’t looked back. The lodge and learn program is amazing and extremely convenient for working families. This program provided the structure she craved and desperately needed. With some work and guidance from staff we were able to work on her bad habits to correct them. No more trouble maker! We now have a second dog. They go to day camp a couple times a week which socializes them and wears them out. They enjoy the pampering of grooming and bathing. Both dogs have been had attended the Saturday obedience training and Tuesday agility classes. Speaking of training classes, the instructors are amazing and have patience of saints. Whenever we go out of town, We lodge the girls. As much as we miss them when we are out of town, we take comfort that this is their home away from home and they are in the best of hands. There is no other place we would take them..ever. The birthday and holiday parties are so clever. It’s fun to see the pictures on Facebook. The pictures really give you and idea of how much fun they have at camp. More...

I would never take my dogs anywhere else for training! I have two stubborn small dogs. My first dog, I brought there when he was about 7/8 months old and I did the 10 day program with him. He was wonderful afterward. Its been almost two years and he is still as well behaved as the day he left. And even though I did not do the full 14 day potty training portion with my first dog, he still came back potty trained and he was not at all before. My Second dog was a completely different story. She was already stubborn from the beginning, therefore I did the 14 day training course on her. It has been a few months and she was still not potty trained so I called them and they really helped me out with getting her back in there for as long as needed because she is just so stubborn. This program truly does work and I would recommend it to everyone and anyone. I will always take my dogs here in the future; the staff, trainer and the owner is amazing! More...
