Kolin Klein Construction

I was extremely leery of contractors.  I have been ripped off, let down, lied to and generally screwed over by several contractors in the past.  Kolin Klein changed all that!  When my friend told me not to worry, that I was in good hands with Kolin, I was still nervous.  My fears could not have been more wrong.  Kolin came to view several houses with me before I found the one I bought.  He would always give great feedback that was super useful.  Once I found the right place Kolin quoted the price for the job and got started exactly on the day he said he would.  His guys arrived at the crack of dawn and the different specialists got to work on their various jobs.  He created a free-standing recording studio, with all the soundproofing and special things it needed as well as remodeled the house. Whether the job was digging out trees, replacing retaining walls, building structures,retrofitting, laying electrical, plumbing, installing air conditioning, lighting, painting, roofing, flooring, fencing, security, you name it, Kolin does it.  This was an old house with lots of problems, none of which phased him. Under the house was a lot of water, he crawled around under there, sourced the problem, and fixed it.  Kolin knows so much about construction he can do anything. He has excellent taste and gives fabulous advice.  His team are all stellar workers and experts in their field, every single one of them is a rock star and super nice.  I am seriously going to miss having them around. Kolin really is a caring, trustworthy, fantastic human being who assures you it's going to be alright, and then makes it so.  I would never use anyone else.  If you can get Kolin to do your job, you've already hit the jackpot, the job will be done in record time, will be utterly beautiful and all your dreams will come true. My wife and had been meeting with contractors for over a month for a very large renovation.  BUT, the moment we met Kolin we stopped the search.  We connected immediately, and in just a few moments of him being in the house we were renovating, his ideas where flowing.  He was very honest, open, and full of creative ideas.  He gave a very realistic timeline of when work could and would be completed.  We added more tasks to the job, and slight tweaks on what we agreed upon, and he was very flexible with getting it all done, with no fuss.He even rushed over to the house with 30 minutes of us calling him when the city reported we had a leak. he wanted to triple check his plumbing, which was perfect, of course.  But it just shows you he is the type of person to value his work, and stand by it.  I would absolutely, in a moment hire Kolin and his team again. There are four words I'd use to describe Kolin Klein and his construction crew (konstruction krew? no, too much?) - courtesy, efficiency, artistry, and trustworthiness.

First, courtesy: from the very beginning, KK and his team made certain that we, as well our neighbors, experienced very little inconvenience due to the work they were doing (which was extensive!). They introduced themselves to each neighbor, and provided contact information in the event they had any concerns. Once we were able to move into the house, while construction was ongoing, they were very good about letting us know when they would be on site and while there, they were very respectful of the fact that their job site was also our home.

Secondly, efficiency: Kolin and company provided a timeline for completion, and stuck with it - which is unheard of, from what I hear from my friends who have had experiences with less awesome contractors. Every day, we came home to new surprises and were very pleased with the time it took to install the kitchen, lay the tile, paint the walls, build the cabinets, etc.

Third, artistry: despite the aforementioned efficiency, workmanship was impeccable, and was consistently done with an artistic flare. Our custom master vanity is unlike any other one you've seen, and was executed with perfection. Our custom wine rack is the reason why angels sing, and our rebuilt fireplace (which entailed removing an entire section, and then rebuilding it to match the "untouched" portion) looks like it has been a part of the house all along - which in this case, is a very, very good thing!

Finally, trustworthiness: there are few things in life that are more intimate that bringing someone into your home, for weeks on end, and asking them to create your dream - all for a hopefully fair price. Not only did we implicitly trust Kolin and his team at our home on a daily basis, but we are confident that his rates were very fair, particularly in light of the superior craftsmanship.

We are endlessly grateful that we found Kolin Klein Construction, and will be using them - and ONLY them - for all our construction needs in the future. More...

I have worked with many contractors personally and professionally as an interior designer. I have never had as positive experience as i did with Kolin Klein Construction. They did a major renovation to my home after I experienced significant water damage. Kolin and his crew were professional, polite and respectful through the entire project. Kolin dealt with my insurance company, HOA and me with the utmost of patience and care. He took responsibility for all of his subcontractors and crew. He was able to complete the project in 8 weeks when other contractors estimated a minimum of 14 weeks. He stayed on budget and suggested ideas in order to make the project less costly. I can't recommend Kolin highly enough. Kolin was the most professional and efficient contractor I have ever worked with. He and his team did top notch work and executed the work in half the time that I would have expected. He had great ideas and made some great recommendations. He was also a fantastic listener when it came to me and my wife's ideas for the project. I plan to use Kolin on any and all future projects. More...
