This place is AMAZING! My girlfriend and I went last week and honestly... wow.She got one of the pastas (the one with butternut squash), loved it, and took enough home to have lunch the next day. She also got the legendary chili, which both of us agreed deserves its reputation.I got the large prime rib, which was the best I have ever had at a restaurant. It was perfectly cooked, just fatty enough to be tasty, nicely seasoned, and SUPER tender. The side of homemade French fries were delicious as well. Each of our portions were large enough to feed a two (expect leftovers!), and for this kind of food, especially in Ann Arbor, the price tag of ~$70 for our visit was very reasonable.The service was also very nice. Even though we are a couple of college kids, not the polished brass of the city, they were courteous and welcoming.This place is just really a gem. The food is great, in both quantity and quality, the prices are reasonable, and the atmosphere is laid back. Great place to go for a good time The only bad thing is they get BUSY. I have been dining at Knights for years. This place is fantastic. Service is always outstanding. Many of the wait staff have been there a very long time which is a testament to how Knights must treat its employees and is good for us patrons because they then know the menu. Drinks are fantastic. I am Gluten Free and the menu has many many options for us gluten free types. I've always eaten safely here. Last I'd like to mention about the food. Steaks are cooked perfectly. Seafood is delicious. Salads are fresh. The menu is extensive and they have daily specials which I often get and they never disappoint. Last night's meal was outstanding. I had the wedding cut prime rib special. Perfect portions cooked perfectly. The plate was the salmon with pesto butter special and it too tasted fantastic. I feel the pricing is very appropriate. Ann Arbor classic now downtown. Two words - Knight's pour (if you drink whiskey). Genuinely good steak, and they'll make you the open face roast beef on white with mashed potatoes and gravy if you know to ask. Always busy.

The first time I went to Knight's was maybe 12 years ago. I had heard that they had generous cuts of quality beef and generous pours of quality whiskey. The rumors were true, and though the venue was relatively modest (their West Ann Arbor location), I was incredibly pleased with my meal and drink, and the pricing was more than fair.Tonight my wife and I visited their downtown A2 location for the first time. The first thing I noticed was that pricing seemed much higher than I remembered (quick note, read to end- pricing is very fair). We ordered the Manhattan and the Penicillin, and the first thing we noticed was that these drinks were STRONG :) delicious, and strong. We both ordered the Guinness burgers (we're not rich!) and pierogis as a side. Man oh man, those burgers were awesome. Just delicious beef and great toppings. And the pierogis were really good too.Ok, so bottom line, Knights has some good options for lower priced fare (and it's super tasty), but I think where this place would really shine is if you want great beef at a more fair price than what Chophouse offers.
