I almost never leave reviews unless a place is absolutely exceptional!I live in Los Angeles and wanted to surprise my daughter on her birthday and send her something special. I always manage to surprise her with something different. After doing a lot of research i came across Kiyo's and decided to try it because of the uniqueness of their designs. I placed the order way ahead of time and sat patiently but very excitingly waiting to see the final design. Finally, the day of her birthday Lisa sent me a picture of the arrangement before delivering it, and it was breathtaking!!! My daughter called me as soon as she received the stunning art piece ( it really is!). She was so happy! I will attach a picture since it really is worth a thousand words. It was saturday afternoon 15 minutes before closing and I needed a lei for my girlfriend's college graduation. I rushed there and one of the lady opened the door and showed me all the leis she had available and didn't try to upsell me on any of them. Wow, Lisa and her team are so accommodating! We ordered one of their beautiful arrangements - Designer's choice - for an American colleague of ours. And even though as Europeans we're quite demanding, Lisa guaranteed it was not a problem at all to meet our requirements. And despite the 9 hour time difference, the communication couldn't have gone smoother either!They even hand wrote the accompanying card for us. Lisa and her team simply went above en beyond, which we obviously highly appreciate. We could not recommend them more. Kiyo's came through for me when my son asked me to pickup a bridal bouquet at 11am for his 1pm marriage at city hall. Well I called one florist shop and they couldn't help me but told me to try Kiyo's, which is what I did. By the time I was speaking to them it was 11:30, but they said they could do a super rush for me that I could pickup in half an hour. When I arrived at their shop they were so wonderful to me and the flowers/bouquet and the boutonnière for my son were simply beautiful. I will never order from another florist again.I wanted something special for a good friend for his birthday and after reading the reviews I decided to take a chance on Kiyo's. I submitted my information and Lisa promptly called me and confirmed my details. I advised that I didn't have a particular arrangement in mind, so the florist recommendation would be fine.When my friend sent me the flowers I was blown. away. Beautiful. Unique. Unforgettable.I found Kiyo's through its great yelp reviews when I was looking for a floral arrangement for my mother and wasn't disappointed.  The variety of choices was nearly overwhelming and the flowers themselves were some of the freshest I've ever seen.  They take pride not only in their arrangements, and it shows as no two arrangements are exactly alike. I was allowed to enhance my selection with additional blooms and the final product was stunning! Kiyo's is our go-to florist. We live a little-ways away, but it's worth the drive because of the talent and heart they put into their flowers. They always treat me like an old friend when I go in. Being from Hawaii, I look for a certain Hawaiian/Japanese mixture in selection and design, and Kiyo's has it! I graduated from UC Davis a few days ago and received many compliments on the feathered style lei I purchased from Kiyo's. Since my family was traveling to norcal for my graduation, my parents assigned me the task of purchasing a lei for myself on their behalf. I had no idea where to begin because I never really shopped for flowers during my time in Sacramento. I found Kiyo's on Yelp and decided to give them a try (I mean, they're 5 out of 5, right?). I had called 3 days before my graduation and spoke with Lisa to reserve my lei. There was a limited selection of leis because most of them were already sold/reserved, but Lisa ensured that she would find something similar to the style/colors I had wanted. She was very polite and patient on the phone, and did not rush me to decide which lei I wanted. We arranged that I would pick up my lei the day before graduation. When that day came, the lei was neatly packaged and ready to go. The flowers were very fresh and the design was just as intricate and full as the pictures on the website show. The quality of the flowers and the arrangement was worth the price. If you're new to flower shopping in the Sacramento area and looking for something unique, Kiyo's is the place to go! I highly recommend them and would order from them again. Other tips and things:Parking -- There is a green (15 or 20 mins) zone in front of the store and on the side. If those are all taken, be ready to street park and walk. I lucked out with a spot in front of the shop. Payment -- If ordering/reserving your flower/lei via phone, be prepared to provide payment at that time. Selection -- If you want a specific type of lei/flower arrangement, be sure to order early. Wow, what can I say !! I don't think that I have ever been to a florist, but boy did this place catch my eye. I remember coming across this place through Yelp last year because I wanted to get something for my mom for Mother's day. It was too late for me to get something from Kiyo's because I waited until Mother's Day and they were closed lol. I made sure that I checked them out this year though.I checked Kiyo's website a few weeks ago and called the shop to place my order. The lady that I spoke with was so polite! And even thanked me for considering Kiyo's. I appreciated that they showed their gratitude because not many businesses do that. I went for the tropicals and orchid in a premium vase. I thought that I was just going to get what I saw online, but when I came to pick up the flowers, my expectations were greatly exceeded! The flowers were put in a really unique vase. I thought I was just going to get a nice white vase lol. All of the workers there are super nice and really know how to build rapport. That is how you retain customers and build a loyal customer base!I ended up leaving with another vase of an orchid design from there for my grandma. WOW!! WOW!! Kiyo's is simply AMAZING. I called to get flowers on the spur of the moment, not knowing if I could get anything at all for Mother's Day. I had just gotten off work, called them from my car at 2:45 on Sat. afternoon and was told they closed at 3:00. Before I could say anything more she asked where I worked and I told her. I didn't know if I could make it there in time. Her response, "We will wait for you." How awesome is that? I am beyond impressed with this florist. When I got there, I was promptly greeted with a warm welcome, and the arrangement was ready and waiting. I was introduced to everyone, receiving warm smiles and handshakes. Now come on...where else do you find that? I am blown away already and it didn't stop there.The young lady carried the flowers to my car for me and placed them in the car. I called from my home in Alaska to send flowers to my daughter-in-law when her grandmother passed away. I wanted to send something really special and beautiful--not the traditional stiff sympathy bouquet. Every aspect of my experience with Kiyo's was wonderful--they were so responsive and easy to work with. My son and daughter-in-law were so pleased and touched by the flower arrangement, which was even more beautiful than the online photo. I felt like the flower arrangement was made with love, as well as artistry. The best florist in all of the Sacramento area. Not your ordinary arrangements that you get from any other florists. You're really getting a work or art when you order from Kiyo's! Ever have an experience, where, you get to the end of a process, a buying experience, a meal, a hotel stay, and you reflect and say 'Wow, that was a level. .. or two or three... above. How I perceive quality has a new benchmark'.  Ever have that?I have, across many things, and the most recent is my interaction with Kiyo and team.  Wow. A level of florist above.Their fairly minimalist site does not pay homage to the full quality,  beauty and certainly not the personal interaction you can expect.The arrangement I saw on line was truly pretty. I wish I could give 10 stars. My family has used this floral shop for several years now. There is no one, anywhere, that has the same creativity that the owner and her staff have. ..one of a kind creations. The owner has gone out of her way when a friend was hospitalized to take the arrangement to her after hours so it would get to her before she was discharged the next day. My father always sends me flowers from Kiyo's, he is in another city but whatever the owner comes up with as a design always is spectacular.So much kindness and love and creativity and I believe it is due to the wonderful owner, and she obviously attracts that same energy with her staff.Just the very best floral designer and kind human. I got a ikebana flower arrangement from KFD for a friends birthday and it was absolutely gorgeous.   The artist who created the arrangement clearly aspires to a high level of expression by arranging flowers so beautifully. I am very impressed.   I patronized KFD for the first time today, thanks for the rec yelpers!, and already I am a huge fan.  I generally hate to spend money.  I don't buy flowers very often, and up until now only did it, because it felt like the "right" thing to do, and never felt like it was anywhere near a good deal.KFD changed that for me.   I never would have dreamed I would be happy to pay $80 for a few flowers and some sticks, but I am a very happy camper.   A flower arrangement from KFD is a work of art, not just a commodity. Lisa (owner) was just lovely to work with.  I was in charge of ordering funeral flowers for a co-worker whose family is Buddhist.  I instantly thought of Kiyo's because they do Japanese "zen" style arrangements and also use a lot of tropical flowers, like birds of paradise and orchids.  I first looked at their website and marked which ones I was interested in.  Prices aren't listed on the site, so I called for estimates and to place an order.  My first day attempting to call, I kept getting the voicemail which says to not leave a message, so I called again the next day and finally got through to Lisa.  She was very sweet, accommodating, and easy to work with as far as payment, and deciding on what would work best and was most appropriate for the family, ceremony, and my budget.  Turned out that my co-worker had also placed an order from Kiyo's, so Lisa made sure to do a different arrangement, using different flowers and colors than my co-worker's.  The "sympathy" arrangements (ones to be placed on a stand) were out of my budget, so I chose something similar to the "Ikebana" arrangements in a vase.  The flowers were delivered on time and were even more beautiful than I expected.  Thank you, Lisa, for doing a wonderful job. I was in search of a local florist that sold leis and I'm not talking about the purple orchid lei we always see around graduation time. I wanted something more unique. I googled and Kiyos showed up. Wow,Today I walked into Kiyo's looking for flowers for my fiance and what ended up happening was nothing short of magical.
