Amazing Indian lunch buffet. Perfect for a weekend. We stumbled onto it after some furniture shopping and now it's a go-to if we're in the neighborhood.

This is our second visit here and the food and service do not disappoint. The decor is nice and the folks that run the place are friendly and welcoming. The food is fresh, well-flavored, and generous in portion. The first time we ate here we got the complete meal and it was a treat. So many new things to try. This time we ordered a la carte - chicken tikka masala, lamb seekh kebab, rice, and the basket of assorted naan. It was way more than we could eat but we are looking forward to the leftovers tomorrow. Please. People of San Leandro, give this place a try. We want them to be around for a while! More...

Great food, good service, and affordable price. The ambiance of the restaurant is really nice as well. Parking was super easy. I love that the vegetarian food was clearly separated from meat dishes. The buffet gave me a chance to try different dishes such vegetable pakoras, garlic naan, and masala. Finished with a carrot desert and some chai tea. Staff made sure our table was clear and that our meal was enjoyable. Will definitely be returning! More...

Living in Alameda, I must have passed a few Indian restaurants before stumbling upon Kismat Indian Cuisine, but I will be coming here from now on. I won't be adding pics because previous reviewers have shared pretty accurately what I just visited. Â The quality of the food and love in this cooking is indescribable. Â Now mind you I don't ever come around this neighborhood, but a business meeting had me close, so I looked up an Indian place on Yelp. Â This was the closest to my then location, and oh what a serendipitous find it is.i thoroughly enjoyed the lunch buffet, and did not try a few dishes, but I loved what I tasted. Â I spent time in Fremont/Newark, so I think I know good Indian food, and Kismat is right in line if not a cut above. The naan (flatbread) was so good that it didn't need butter nor a dab of one of the various sauces. Â I could tear through a large basket of their Naan during a football game. Â The goat was extremely tasty, and tasted "clean" like someone scrubbed every piece of any goat smell. Â It was a very sweet tasting meat in a semi-rich gravy, that worked well with naan and rice.As I was about to compliment the place, a woman comes in and says she's been in there a couple times this week already. Â I guess I may start doing that, too. More...

Love that they offer dishes you don't find at other Indian buffets. Samosas were really good the first time I went, and the fish pokara was obviously not the usual frozen packaged item ubiquitous everywhere else. I was pleasantly surprised. They also offer papadams! Chai is self-serve, but soda is also included in the buffet price, which they will bring you. Service was very good for a buffet, and I'm sure it will be just as good at dinner. This is my new go to after my other favorite, Flavors of India, raised their buffet price (still worth it, but alas, not doable on my current budget ). Kismat is a great intro to Indian cuisine if you haven't had the opportunity to try it. More...

The service and food were excellent. The ambience was calm and comfortable. And the price was right. Great place for an evening date or daytime lunch. Also a great option for vegetarians. I ordered the Channa Masala (chickpeas in tomato sauce) with Garlic Naan (flatbread) and rice. Went home with left overs. More...

This is probably the best Indian food in this area. I walked in at 3pm with my bf and was not turned away. They close at 3pm when the lunch buffet is over. They seated us and brought our food out quickly. Not once throughout our entire meal or time here did we get rushed or pushed to finish eating and go EVEN after they closed the door! Okay and the food is sooooo good the butter chicken is perfect. Not too spicy and not to sweet just right. The kabobs were so tender and perfect too. Love this place. More...

Alot of variety to choose from and a high value sit down place. My favorites include the butter chicken (very creamy), fried fish (crispy crunch outside, so tender inside), and stir fried okra. Soda and naan are included in the price. Waiters were attentive making sure you get refills and taking away finished dishes. Ambience is nice, clean and quiet. This is definitely a must try if you are in the area. More...

I feel like this place is a hidden gem. I've come here twice and kick myself for not coming more often. I love Indian food, the aroma, the spices, the sauces and  the feel of home cooking. They have a great AYCE it's so reasonably priced $11.99 with lots of choices and AYCE naan bread !  Vegetable fritters, butter chicken, samosas, paneer and more! You can even order from the buffet make your own plate and pay the same Buffett price ! Only bad thing is it close to home so I will be coming back more often !!! More...

Nestled in small bay area city is this amazing Indian restaurant. We went there for their buffet and there were 3 carts of very authentic tasting Indian food. Definitely one of the best I've had in awhile. The place was clean and the service was exceptional. As soon as we finished our plate, it was gone before we came back (or shortly thereafter). We ordered via email for dinner, and within a few minutes were called back to find out how spicy we liked our food. Drove there and the order was ready when promised. The food was delicious. We ordered more than enough for two of us, and have just finished having the leftovers as a full dinner on the next day. Fantastic food and will now try eating on the premises also, as we pass by it at least twice a week. More...

Dinner was sooooo good!! Plus the business owner shared that we should also come for the buffet (they have some dishes that take so long to cook they only serve them during the buffet) and I'm so glad that we decided to. The goat and lamb curry are yummy. The food has been excellent every time though so it's no surprise. The owner is 9/10 there and if he isn't than his mother is.
