King of Maids

We hired cleaners for noon Friday. They called at 11AM asking if they could come early. We unfortunately were not there to let them in and could not accommodate. At our scheduled time they called us and canceled saying they were sick (they were fine an hour prior). My husband called and complained and they agreed to send a crew 30 minutes after our scheduled time. We said OK. They DID NOT CLEAN. We complained and they accused us of making a mess immediately after it was cleaned (we were cleaning for a showing to sell the next morning). Luckily, they backed themselves into a lie with their own pictures. When they got caught in their own lie, they tossed us $50 (on a $309 job for a two bedroom condo that was empty). Spoke with the realtor this morning who saw the condo pre and post clean and she confirmed the unit WAS NOT CLEANED AT ALL.We have pictures immediately following the cleaning as proof.We worked with this company over several years and it's very hit or miss based on who cleans it.After this horrible experience, I would never recommend this company. They lied and we got stuck with $259 and a dirty unit before our showings. DO NOT HIRE unless you can personally sit in the unit and supervise!Edit: the below response is accusatory, inaccurate and unprofessional. Booking was straightforward and did not require an excessive amount of questions that other companies required. You also get a discount for signing up for monthly cleanings which I have with no regrets! My apartment look wonderful and they did an amazing job cleaning out my fridge which was a life saver. I recommend avoiding this company at all costs if you actually expect someone to show up at your house to clean. Our first cleaner was a no-call no show. After 2 hours of waiting around for the cleaner we finally found out they weren't coming and rescheduled for the following weekend. To our surprise the cleaner they scheduled for the next weekend was also a no-show. I moved in to a new apartment and needed a deep cleaning. The booking process at KoM was easy. One week before my cleaning, I had to change my appointment and the rescheduling process was smooth too. Booked King of Maids in early December for a deep clean - they rescheduled several times and with several different cleaners: strike one. On the day of finalized cleaning appointment, they sent someone to my home without even notifying me that the cleaner was now a different person until I got a text message from him that he was running late: strike two. I had to confirm with the company and make sure this was someone sent by them. When the cleaner arrived, he asked for a vacuum cleaner: strike three. KOM cleaners are supposed to bring their own products or equipment AND he had his own car. No reason he shouldn't have brought one with him.The cleaner was polite, though, and got right to work, so we trusted him and left our apartment to run some errands. Before we left, we reminded him that we booked a deep clean, including the inside of the fridge and oven. A deep clean for our apartment was estimated to take 7-8 hours by the KOM rep when I booked the service. At hour 3, I receive a text message from the cleaner saying he was done. I've cleaned my home with the help of my husband and we can confidently say it's never taken less than 4 hours and that's just surface cleaning. A deep clean in 3 hours for 3 beds, 2 baths?! I told the cleaner we didn't expect him to be done so soon but we could return in 20 mins if he could wait for us. I even offered to pay him a cash tip to stay. He said he had a long drive home and had to go, and left before we could get back. Upon arrival, our welcome mat had visible dirt; the wood floors still had dust in most corners and under our dining table and sofas; the toilets still had rings; there was hair in our shower drain; and the microwave (included), fridge and oven (extra) were UNTOUCHED - he didn't wipe a single thing! It was the most atrocious job we've ever seen - and now we have no idea what he did for those 3 hours we left him to clean. We contacted KOM immediately - we had paid over $320 for the service and a basic cleaning wasn't even performed. Customer service was awful at returning calls or emails and asked for a million pictures before they helped us, even though the cleaner apparently admitted to them that he'd left off several things. We eventually resolved the issue but it was an absolutely horrific experience and we will NEVER book with them again.Edit: in response to the owner's email below, a complete LIE regarding the vacuum. The cleaner did NOT tell us he had one in the car and in fact told us he'd forgotten his and if we had one he could use. We did not "prefer" our vacuum as it was not a good one. No idea where this made up story came from. Secondly, yes, we wanted to proceed with our appointment but our cleaner changed THREE times and we weren't even notified of the change on the day of - WE had to reach out and ask if the cleaner was the right person because our email confirmation said a female was coming. No confidence in the scheduling system. Thirdly, yes, of course we offered pictures to prove work wasn't completed but customer service received plenty (I'm now attaching several) and they still wanted more and went back and forth several times before any resolution was made, wasting almost our entire day. I have been using King of Maids for over seven years now on a monthly basis and couldn't recommend them more! Alex has been my cleaner during the bulk of this time and he does a fantastic job.  My place is always very clean, organized and smells so great when KOM is done.  My notes about certain items are always paid attention to and they are great with my cats as well.  Over the past year, Alex has been so wonderful throughout COVID with me working at home while he's cleaning, too.  I've used them for move outs over the years and it's always been done very well. Very, very disappointed with King of Maids service. We have stuck it out with them for 1.5 years because of their price, but it's simply not worth all the headaches. Their maids need better training on what is included vs. non-included in their services, and they need to work on their customer service. We have had several awful experiences with various maids.1) Maid that didn't want to dust and said it was not included in the price (though it is listed as a service that is included on their website). 2) Anyone that has stairs within their apartment beware! They will tell you the cleaning of the stairs is not included if they lead toward your apartment door exit. Even if they are within your apartment and private to your residence, they will charge you an additional fee to clean them.3) A maid stole some items from our apartment, and broke our vase. Though the company did cover the cost of replacing the vase.This company, overall, is a nightmare to work with. Just had a move out cleaning done with King of Maids and am very satisfied. After calling for an estimate, the company emailed me a quote. I called and confirmed with them a couple days later. I received an email confirmation at the time of booking, and a two-day and 24-hours reminder ahead of the scheduled cleaning. The two employees--Sean S. and Alanis S.--were extremely responsive and texted updates sharing the status of their cleaning, including pictures of their work to give me "peace of mind," which I greatly appreciated. I've been using King of Maids for about 5 years. Their customer service is fantastic! On the rare occasion that I have had an issue, they have always made it right. Their cleaners are always timely and professional and do a great job. I love their website for the ease of booking appointments and paying electronically. 100% would recommend to any and all! I've used King of Maids for a few years now and I'm consistently overjoyed with the result. I've worked with a a few different cleaners within King of Maids and my apartment is always sparkling clean. I trust this organization completely and I will continue to use them in the future. My most recent cleaner I have used the last few times has been Carlos, who leaves my apartment is perfect shape. He is kind, understanding, patient, and thorough. The equipment he has is top notch too! My floors and carpets are spotless - he knows what he is doing. He kept me posted on his arrival time prior to his arrival, and then gave me a gam eplan when he arrived.Something else I appreciated from my recent cleaning was the visibility into the vaccination status of my cleaner. Set up a deep cleaning so that I could have a clean apartment to come back to after I leave for the holidays for a few weeks. We've used King of Maids a handful of times now. They've been thorough and efficient each and every time. They pay attention to detail and have listened to our specific requests in cleaning our home. It's also been convenient to be able to book appointments with them online. That's also made it easy to reschedule appointments that way. The more I'm able to do online, just the simpler it is for me. We recently went to booking monthly appointments, which saves us a bit of money, too. 5 Stars from quote to booking to the cleaning!  We were closing on a house (4 bed/3.5 bath/ full basement) and I requested multiple quotes in the area for a move-in clean.  King of Maids was by far the most responsive, helpful, and super easy to book.  It's a flat rate based on # of bedrooms/ bathrooms and extras.  Despite other quotes coming in lower, I liked the peace of mind with the flat rate and no surprises.  We got reminder emails of our upcoming cleaning too.  Day of, Sean and Alanis knocked of out of the park!  As a very pregnant woman with a one year old and full -time job, I didn't know how I was going to tackle this job.  Beyond worth the value for what they did.  It was an all-day job and they were even so great to send pictures of their work when they left.  When they weren't able to accommodate one of my cleaning requests (interior window cleaning) due to the screens on the windows, the company called and left me messages/ emails to alert me right away- adjusting the price to remove that service as well.  Going from a 2 bedroom condo to a house is very overwhelming (space-wise) and the cleaning was one thing I could rest easy about.  I will definitely splurge to continue to use this dynamic duo of Sean & Alanis again and recommend them to all. Scheduled a move out deep cleaning based on the yelp reviews but had a very poor experience. They sent one person who could barely finish half of the work by the end of the day and all superficially done. All the details and the request were made very clear but she did a very sloppy job for the huge amount they charged. I have pictures taken after the cleaning and can send for proofs. I do not recommend them and it was a huge mistake using them as I have to use someone else for deep cleaning again. Shame on you ! More...

This company charges a fortune for services and when I booked the appointment they promised a guarantee on their services. If I wasn't satisfied, they would return to address areas of concern. I didn't know what to give but based on my cleaner Nicole, I give it a 5! She was very good, she moved stuff to vacuum around it, she was quick, my house looked and smelled clean when she was done! She was also very sweet. I did have some problems with the original scheduled maid not showing up as he was delayed at earlier job, and communications, but they found Nicole. The three stars is for good communication and follow up.  We hired a cleaner from KOM to deep clean (the deep clean is an additional charge) our apartment and clean the windows.  However, there were soooo many spots left, streaks were everywhere, dusting wasn't done, and our place felt damp, but not clean. The KOM team responded immediately and sent someone new to finish the job a few days later.  While the second person did a much better job a few days later, it wasn't worth the hassle or the price. Paid for a move out clean, and while the basics were generally cleaned, I had the add on for the oven to be cleaned and it wasn't. When I walked in the door several days later, they had cranked the AC to 50 degrees, something we're going to have to pay immensely for. Overall completely dissatisfied as they are going to end up costing is money for the AC and didn't clean the oven, which is an additional cost/add on.
