Amazing! Kim and her crew did a fabulous job on my hair and make-up and my bridesmaids' hair as well. She was very friendly and helpful. throughout the whole process she was very professional and worked with me in the planning. I wasn't super impressed with my nails (french tip on toes and fingers) and I would have skipped that service and done it somewhere else, but the hair and make-up was definitely worth it! More...

I started going to Kim for my hair needs the summer before my wedding. She is AMAZING. I have never had such a good cut in my life. I have very thick straight hair but she was able to make it look wonderful with out a lot of styling after I left. She put beautiful highlights in it for me too and I always got exactly what I asked for. This is not a hair artist that takes liberties with your hair, you get what you ask for the first time! All of the staff is very friendly and accommodating as well.

She did my hair and make-up for my wedding and I would not have had it any other way. I've gotta say I think I looked pretty awesome!

One of the girls did my nails for my wedding as well, I had no idea what she did was even possible! I had no idea they could take straight glitter and do just the tips of my nails! I even got to pick three different glitters to mix together and she made them "fade" the way I wanted them to.

Two of my bridesmaids had they're hair done for the wedding by two other stylists and they were very happy with the results as well.

I would highly recommend giving  Kim n Co. a try.  Kim has been cutting my hair for 16 years now and I respect her professional opinion. I have been going to Kim & Company for many years and would never dream of changing salons. Why? No matter where I go, I receive compliments about my hair styles from the owner, Kim Brown. Strangers regularly compliment me, and by regularly, I mean after every single cut. Strangers have asked if they can take pictures of my hair in multiple cities, states, and countries. Here are two examples. Once in the late afternoon in Santa Barbara when I was sitting at an outdoor cafe sipping coffee, a group of women approached me and told me their goal for the day was to find a new hairstyle they liked and, hopefully, change stylists. They enthusiastically and unanimously voted mine as the hands-down favorite of the day. They were disappointed that Kim does not work in Santa Barbara, but took multiple photos to show their stylists. My second example occurred one day in a grocery store in San Luis Obispo. A woman stopped me and asked where I got my hair cut. I later found out that on her way home from the store, she stopped in at Kim & Company and set up her first appointment. My favorite part of this story? I had just worked out and had not styled my hair at all that day. I had just run my fingers through it after showering. It certainly wasn't looking its best right then. What a compliment to the quality of Kim's cut! It's not just women who compliment me; men appreciate my hair too. Quite a few men tell me they wish their wives would get hairstyles like mine. Beyond Kim's great styles, the staff is always friendly and the salon is a welcoming, relaxing, cozy respite from a stressful world. I've had multiple great massages and manicures and pedicures too. Kim runs a professional, quality salon. We are so lucky to have someone of her caliber in San Luis Obispo.I only wish I could give Kim & Company more than five stars! More...

Holly is a life saver!! She is extremely talented and truly cares about the outcome of your hair. She is a perfectionist and I love that. I had a horrible color job at another "upscale" salon. Holly was able to "FIX" my hair while maintaining the health of my hair. She even stayed late to finish the job so that I could be seen in public again. She is amazing!! More...

One of the best massages...possibly even the best massage ever! Get an appt with Jason Knox if you are in pain and need relief. He specializes in deep tissue and sports injury. I go to him for my back/shoulder and he is really helping me. I walk in with crazy knots in my back from sitting all day at the computer and I walk out with them gone. He worked with a chiropractor as well so he is SUPER tuned into the muscles and the joints and all the connections. It is kinda like a massage and chiropractor appt all into one. He doesn't crack your back like a chiropractor but is able to get into the muscles in the right spots and just aligns everything. He can immediately pin point the problems areas without you really even telling him. He is very intuitive and knows his stuff. You don't walk out of his massages with just a fluffy "oh that was nice" feeling. You walk out with a "wow, he "fixed" me" feeling. He works on a lot of athletes in town. His name is Jason Knox and he works in a space in the Kim and Co. SalonIf you have pain in the legs, back, hips, feet....within one session the pain goes away. I am going back again and again and referring all my friends. Totally reasonable rates too. You will not be disappointed! More...

Kim and her girls rock!! Since i dont live in town i had to come in a few months before my wedding for my trial and feel in love with them! Kim was so kind and treated me like a long time friend. I have a VERY very thin spot on the crown of my head and she was sweet about making sure it was hidden. She even recommended a product that could help and it did! I was blown away to find something to help reverse it!! That alone made her amazing in my eyes. I chose to have me and my girls all get ready at the same time, some of her girls were out of town, so she had people from other salons come and help her. I had no clue of that until after we were all glammed up! And they made all of us feel so special and we all looked amazing! On the day of the wedding kim and her team showed up early and set up everything just perfectly they moved mirrors so we could see ourselves, which i loved! And all 5 of us were ready with time to spare!! My hair never moved an inch and my make-up still looked fresh at 2am when i went to bed!! The girls at Kim and Co Salon did a great job on the hair and makeup for me and my bridesmaids! The cost was on the high side, not quite matching the quality, but overall we were very happy with the results! The makeup Kim and Co uses is really great -- looks great, not heavy at all. My stylist (Holly) worked with me to get my hair style just right. She was patient and detailed as we worked through the style until I finally said "OK, that! That's perfect!" Trust me, it took a while. My bridesmaids looked beautiful! One wasn't completely happy with her makeup, but the stylists and Kim and Co tweaked it, without making the ordeal awkward -- very much appreciated. Another bridesmaid wasn't super happy with her hair, but she did a quick adjustment herself and solved the problem. Bottom line -- I think Kim and Co is one of the best salons in the SLO-area for wedding hair / makeup. As a bride who was planning a long distance wedding -- choosing Kim at Kim & Co was one of the best decisions I made in planning my wedding. Since I lived in Southern California I couldn't do a hair trial in advance of my wedding and I worried that I might not like my hair and make-up for my wedding. Boy was I wrong! Meeting Kim the day before for my trial Kim really worked with me to make me look my absolute best and immediately put my fears at ease. I cant begin to say enough great things about Kim, and Kim&co salon. I was having the worst time trying to find the right stylist for my wedding. I live about three hours away from the san luis obispo area and didnt have a lot of time to travel back and forth for test runs.
I had hired a stylist and had my test run about 3 weeks before my wedding day, and I literally cried when i was done with my appointment. I have long hair and it is always hard to keep a curl in, but my curls literally fell the moment i stepped out of the salon. I had brought a picture of exactly what i wanted my hair to look like and it wasn't even close. All the stylist did was curl my hair and stick it up in a few bobby pins, which i could have done myself. And then at the end, she let me know she wouldnt be able to be on location for my wedding, as planned, because she had other appointments scheduled in the salon.
Needless to say i was devastated when i walked out of that salon. A friend of mine was trying to help me out since i was planning everything myself and came across kim&co salon online. I called and explained my situation and Kim and the whole salon were so helpful. Kim had another wedding she was doing that morning, but squeezed me in since my wedding wasn't until 5pm. She even made time to do a trial run the day before my wedding day to make sure that everything was the way i wanted it.
The salon's atmosphere was so calming and kim and the staff are so friendly. My hair ended up being perfect! It looked even better than the picture i had brought in and my curls stayed all night long, and into the next day.
