Absolutely the best car buying experience of my life and i have had many. I loved that they had male and female sales associates which is rare in the car industry. I am completely in love with my new Kia and the entire process from the moment I walked in the door to the moment they handed me my new keys to my sparkelingly clean newly washed and fully gassed up car took almost exactly 2 hours! It was fast, efficient and a very fare price. They took my trade in and matched mu Carmax offer which other dealers did not offer. Kia Singer is a fun car but the dealership is a den of vipers. Maintenance contracts are a con game. Service dept piles on bogus unnecessary services beyond that advised by Kia. The maintenance contract ended at 60,000 event though I was told it extended to 100K. I was told the contract covered "all factory recommended service but it only covered oil changes and tire rotations??? This is a car with staggard wheel sizes front and back. You CAN'T rotate the tires. Good thing I didn't buy the flux capacitor warranty, eh? The crooks who run the place tell the slimeballs what to do and the slimeballs yell at the bottom feeders. I was in there waiting on my non-covered maintenance service and a salesguy is having a F-bomb-laden 120 dB argument with the contract guy arguing over their commissions like a couple of vultures picking over a corpse. The Gambino crime family had nicer personalities. If you must buy a Kia I would say drive up to LA and try to find some actual Koreans. DO NOT shop at Kia of Irvine. So I called sales and Lexi answered my call and was very helpful over the phone I was not gonna beat around the bush I told her our situation and what we were looking to purchase. We had our eyes set on a 2023 Kia Niro Hybrid color and all. Lexi was great and we set a date and time so we could come in and start the process. Day of Lexi advised that it was her day off but she was going to come in. Closer to the time she advised she had to attend and event but she had spoken with her colleague Mikey and he was great and he would take care of us. She advised she was still available via text and that Mikey was great. We got the dealer after I got off of work and Mikey was fantastic. The finance guy also was GREAT! I do not remember his name but this was one of the easiest and painless shopping experience and we left with the exact car that we wanted. I am a huge fan of Kia as this is my 5 vehicle. This last purchase was from Kia of Irvine and I purchased the extended warranty for my Kia Optima Plug-In Hybrid. I've taken my vehicle in for my 2nd oil change and service and at the time I had has them check why the USB port was not working. I was told they would order the part needed and get back to me when the part came in. I never received a call back from anyone. I have tried follow up and every time I speak with the service manager or GM or get a contact, the response I am given is they are busy. I ask for a call back and never get a call back. My radio stopped working also.<br><br>Last week, my car stopped working all together. I am not able to jump the vehicle at all. I had my car towed in to Kia of Irvine on Friday June 9, about 11am. I spoke with Dillon, a service advisor and made sure I didn't needed to be present to have the vehicle check in. Dillon grab my information since I am already in their system, he assured me, they will intake my vehicle and give me a call.<br><br>Today Monday June 12, I called in at 10am to check the status of my vehicle. The representative told me he will have a service advisor call me shortly when they have a moment. At 12:30pm I called back because I have not heard from anyone. I spoke with Jim and provided the information again. Jim said he will walk the lot and give me a call. It is now 4:05pm and Jim said he hasn't had a chance to call me and that the car would be taken in tomorrow morning. <br><br>I work in the industry and I have worked for Kia of Cerritos. I give every person the benefit of the doubt that the team is busy. However, this lack of communication and follow up is just unprofessional. I am sure they gave me the run around because I don't think it would take a team 6 hours to find a vehicle on their lot and to check it in. <br><br>With my vehicle being in service, I had requested to have the USB port changed out, radio to be looked at, and fix my vehicle that won't start. My vehicle is a 2018 year model with about 45k miles. Vehicle should still be under warranty. <br><br>This review is base on the run around and lack of car for their customers. It's once in a lifetime that you find a rare gem. Mike Khartabil is one of those rarities. Amid looking to purchase a Kia Sportage and after many phone calls throughout Southern California, I came upon Mike. He is an exceptional individual! Mike's title is "sales consultant". However, I would change his job title to "Guardian Angel". I never met Mike prior to my going in to purchase the car. (I had originally made a down payment online just to hold the vehicle.) I cannot say enough about Mike's integrity and how he cares about each one of his clients. I feel blessed and honored that he was my sales consultant. It's been two weeks since I've had my car. I wanted to upgrade the car's mirror. Plus, I had gotten a flat tire on the freeway, so I needed to purchase a new tire. He never left my side through each of these tasks. I came in around May looking for a 2023 EV6 GT-line. I had been to several dealers and at all of them, I was getting terrible offers for my trade in and terrible offers on the car i wanted. I walked in to KIA of Irvine and was greeted warmly by Michael. Michael was so helpful and wanted to do everything in his power to make sure i was happy and left with the car i wanted. He literally helped me through every step and worked with me to make sure i was happy with the deal I got. I never have had such a helpful salesman in all my years of leasing cars. THANK YOU MIKE KHARTABIL, it's nice to know that customer service still exist. My partner and I walked in hesitant, as previous experiences in other KIA dealers weren't the greatest, but this one was AMAZING! !! Mike immediately answered all of our questions, and made sure we got what we wanted. Unlike other dealers who said, "it's this or nothing", he was understanding of our needs, and did exactly as we asked. DANIELLE ORTEGA the General Sales Manager at Kia of Irvine is the absolute Worst. DO NOT PURCHASE FROM THIS DEALERSHIP!We purchased a pre-owned Kia Sorento from Kia of Irvine. Part of the sales agreement is that Kia would re-paint the hood due to the paint had peeled. Kia touched up the hood which began to peel & chip 6 months later. We returned the car so they could re-paint the complete hood again it was returned with only touch up which peeled & chipped within months. I contacted the dealership to have this matter taken care of. Honestly the dealership passed me around, like an ex wife that you don't wish to talk to. (btw I've been happily married for 33yrs)I was sent to multiple voicemails, I even spoke to Anthony Calabrese our original sales person & he said he would talk to the General manager to see what they could do, to which I never heard anything back. 2 business days after my conversation with Anthony I called every day only to be transferred to who know's voicemail. This went on for over a month. Finally I was transferred to a lady who told me I needed to talk to DANIELLE ORTEGA THE GENERAL SALES MANAGER but she was in a meeting. She asked for my phone number & said she would have Danielle Ortega call me (which she never did).I emailed Danielle Ortega about this issue and we were done begging Kia of Irvine to repaint the hood as they agreed to and we did not want to receive another shotty touch up job. We received an estimate from a reputable auto paint shop and requested that they honor the deal and pay for the hood to be repainted by this company. Danielle Ortega would only correspond through email, refused to answer any calls. She basically danced around saying " Oh I never received any messages" , just bring the car in & we'll take care of it. We were past that & took the car to the reputable paint shop to begin re-painting the hood. All we asked is that Kia of Irvine to pay for the painting. After MANY short curt emails from Danielle Ortega, she agreed to issue payment. A week later we received a check for LESS THAN HALF of the cost to re-paint the hood. When I emailed her back she had the audacity to say "Well we paid our body shop to repaint the car, so now we are paying double". WHAT THE HECK???? 1st If you pay a company for work they didn't do, YOU'RE STUPID and that's not my problem.2nd You agreed to pay us for the re-painting and you Didn't. Instead you issue a check for LESS THAN HALF of the cost.We had to wait for a supplemental check to pay for the Quality paint job. NO ONE, should ever have to jump through so many hoops to have a company Honor their Sales Contract / Warranties. DANIELLE ORTEGA THE GENERAL SALES MANAGER is the most incompetent person, does not believe in honoring sales contracts and is just flat out rude and does not care about representing Kia of Irvine in an honorable way. In January, I purchased a Kia stinger, the whole experience was quick and delightful. Michael, which was a salesman who helped me with the paperwork was so nice and provide an exceptional customer service. Fast forward a couple months I went in for an oil change at my local Kia dealership and was told that I had to replace the brakes which would've cost $1000. Being skeptical, I called the service center at Kia of Irvine and spoke with Brad in service, he told me to bring the car in. Upon arriving to Kia I met with Brad and he invited me to the back where the shop is. There I met Sam who explained how the brakes worked and showed me the condition of them. Sam said the brakes were fine and did not need replacing. Sam also looked at my engine and rotors. He even replaced a tube I didn't even notice.Honestly, I'm very thankful for the customer service of Brad and Sam. I never thought Mechanic would show me firsthand what my car needed and what it didn't need. I will never go to Kia in Glendale again, and because of the great customer service at Irvine I will be recommending Kia vehicles to friends solely based on the customer service experience at Kia of Irvine. We bought our 2nd and 3rd cars from Kia this weekend. As with the first one (back in 2022) Sergio Sasbin was our sales person again. He sold us our first electric car last year, when we made the jump to EV and dumped our gas car. Later, we bought another Kia Niro (like the first) from another dealer, dumping our other gas car. Since that time, I have not had a bad thing to say about these EV Niros, and in fact, both cars have been excellent. Ride great, the range is about 320 miles (at 100% charge), and the cars are super comfortable. Digging the cars and not thinking we had any reason to change them out, Sergio pings me this week and checks in via text. He pitches an idea to trade back in one of the 2022 Niros for a new 2023 Niro Wind. Hmmm, sounds too good to be true, Can't be right. We talk, he works some numbers.....then bam! We agree to come in, he sells us the new 2023 and we end up with NO out of pocket. Damn, ok. Then while there, we kick around whether we trade the other 2022 out. More numbers, and what is a strong effort by Kia Irvine, they make us a deal to take the other one back as trade, and bam, we have another 2023 Niro Wind, with again NO out of pocket. But, we gotta split and get home, so they finish detailing the new Wind, and Sergio drives it to our house a few hours later and picks up my rain dirty 2022 and drives it away. That is service. Two new cars, nothing out of pocket, and essentially the same lease term we had, and if anything, a little more lease to our favor on one of the cars. Easy paperwork, no over-promising, just a good handshake to do one car, then we do the other. If you are looking for an EV, go look at the Niro Wind. They are practical, comfortable and affordable, and go talk to Sergio. Man, I used to hate buying cars but now, I'd go nowhere else, and phone no one else but my man, Serge. Way to go, and thank you. I leased my vehicle from Kia of Carson. I decided to do a lease buyout and called them and they told me I had to do the buyout from them so I drove all the way to Carson to do it. They were incredibly unhelpful and lied saying I was required to purchase warranty and lowjack to do a lease buyout (basically telling me I couldn't buy the car without it) which was a lie. So I left. Went to Kia of Irvine and Mike K. Was so incredibly kind, helpful and HONEST!! I did the lease buyout with a great rate and no extra unwanted warranties on top of it. Salesperson William Ryee was great. He was not pushy and answered all of our questions honestly. In the end we felt comfortable purchasing through him. Our experience with the Finance Department wasn't as good. The manager was condescending when he found out we were paying in cash and didn't want the extended warranty or service plan. Unfortunately I'm an another victim in this scamming business. I took my car in to get a light bulb changed. The guy told me "the light will be $18 but the out it in it will cost $250. We have to take the whole bumper out." So I paid it because I don't know how to remove a dumper.1 month goes by and my other light goes out. (No problem not surprised because I didn't Change it!) I took my car back in. This time I wasn't gonna but the service just the bulb and was gonna take it to someone else to do. However, I wanted to confirm the bulb was correct so a very nice (white, 6,0 foot male with blonde hair) check the car and light for me.He said the bumper doesn't need to come off and LITERALLY SWITCHED MY LIGHT IN 3 minutes!I ask him why did they charge me $250 to get it done last time? He said and I QUOTE "oh that shop was probably just trying to bamboozal you"I then told him it was heat and it was the guy who works next to him. He did his part in not ratting out his co worker but I can read between the lines.It's so sad to see so many dealerships like this who screw people over. It's pathetic.I had planned to buy a car here in May but now I will be returning to KIA OF CERRITOS. Where their people actually have souls and don't screw people over like Kia of Irvine.To the sales reps: Have some morals. Shopped online and after 3 submissions finally got through to someonePrice online is not the real price. Some cars discount e $6000. Some $2300. $6000 discount supposedly included a rebate but the other $2300 discounted one should include the same rebate, making it $7300?Not sure how this makes any sense. Went last week for oil change and recall check of airbag. My appointment was for 11 am. I showed up and my car key was not collected until 11:15. I told them I would wait for the car and that it will be about an hour and a half. Because they seemed to have many cars that day I decided to go check on my car at 1:30 pm. This was a total of 2 and a half hours I had waited. When I went to one of the clerks they said they would go check on my car. They told me that it would probably be another hour and a half wait. I reminded them I had an appointment and asked again that they wanted me to wait for 4 hours? I asked to speak to a manager and they said he was busy. The receptionist named Mary or Ashley told me the manager was Jim Olson. I asked to have my car back because I had to go to school and work. I called Jim Olson's number multiple times and left a voicemail and no one got back to me. I am trying to still call Kia Corporate but they never answer. What is really upsetting is that they could have just notified me while I was in their waiting lobby that the car would be taking 4 hours and could I come back at a later time or at least have common courtesy to tell me they were hours behind schedule. Received a notice in the mail that there is a software update for my Kia Optima, so I called this dealership to make the appointment. The guy who answered the phone was not helpful and reminded me why I refuse to do any business with this dealership. I had two previous interactions and both times were horrible and they make you wait for hours even with an appointment.I work full time so I asked for the latest appointment to complete this software update, he told me 6/1 and the latest appointment they take is 1pm. This is ridiculous and so I am supposed to lose money to do an software update? Why can they only do appointments up to 1pm? Because they cant squeeze additional money out of the consumer that late in the day?Obvisously I didnt schedule and I as I write this negative review I am on hold with Kia Customer Care department.Save yourself the headache and find a different Kia dealership even if it means that you have to drive farther. Update 5/18:I felt like I got scammed, but I had some help from my coworker to get my money back. I wrote the previous review on 5/13 when I first got the car. The finance manager asked me to write a review IN front of him, gave me no privacy and I felt pressured into writing it. I walked out with my new car with VERY BAD feelings. I wasn't happy with the process I didn't even know who Jeff was but he told me to write about Jeff too. Here's the timeline: Went into the office 4 times total5/13 with my boyfriend5/14 with my boyfriend5/15 with my boyfriend + his mom5/17 with my coworker who's been in the car industry 5/13 GOT THE CAR + FELT LIKE I GOT SCAMMEDMy Sales girl Annie was great. Gave me quote, I put down deposit for my Kia Seltos on 5/9. Saturday 5/13 went in, picked up the car. Then I had to go into the finance department to go through my payment plans for my car. My honest feeling was I feel like I got scammed. I am a first time car buyer, I have 0 knowledge how this works. Yes I could have done some research and didn't, that's on me. MSRP was 27k, Car sticker was 31k with some installments and doc fees from the dealership (theft patrol) and I was fine with that price. When I went into the finance office, the finance manager did tell me these were add-ons; and asked me how long I wanted to keep the car and I did say as long as possible, so he was like oh then you def need all these things. Pulled out a paper with all the warranty packages with prices on them. All of the packages adds up to 13-17k. For some reasons I thought when you buy a car you have to buy these warranty packages. I don't remember hearing the word "optional" at all. Also don't remember him saying these were add-ons. I just thought these "add-ons" means I have to buy them, plus the whole vibe in the office was very pressuring, this guy scared me with things like "a lot of people broke their cars, come back later and ask me to give them packages at this price but I say no" and "Once you're off the lot you can't add on these packages" (I didn't know if he was capping or not lmao), but everything together was 10k something extra that I didn't know I DIDN'T NEED. Talked about alot of the CONs of not getting these packages, and *when I wanted to ask questions he cuts me off and say "Let me finish" and "You don't need to question me"* and shit like that eventually I just let the guy talk because he just wanna talk and I hate talking to people like that I just wanted to get the necessary shit done and leave. I did agree with the things he was saying at the time as in buying these saves you some trouble later, but mind you I didn't have time to think because he was using a fearful strategy, saying if you don't do this then xyz could happen you're gonna lose a lot of money later on. And you have to do it now otherwise there's no chance. I never knew if these were optional and never got to ask. Mind you my guy also knew it was my first time buying car. I also managed to ask "but I think Annie didn't tell me I have to pay extra for these things" but then just to give it benefits of doubts i said "Maybe she didn't know". Guy agreed with me and said ya she doesn't know what she's saying. I walked out of the office with a car that was originally 31k upped to 42k payments. It was a BAD feeling. VERY BAD. I didn't have the budget for 42k. So he separated the 6 warranty packages into 2 parts, 1 has a separate contract that was 10k the other one was added to my car loan payment (31k+7 or 8k). That's what happened on Saturday.5/14 SECOND VISIT Sunday I went back into the office crying say I didn't know it was gonna be this much and I cant afford them. Ya I'm crying for the mistake I made but also because he "sold" me. Also I'm crying because he was very pressuring and very condescending, to make things easier I decided not to talk back but I was mad so I cried. Managed to cancel the separate contract that was 10k he said he will do it for me. That same night realized I forgot to ask for a cancellation confirmation so I sent him an email saying "per our convo at the office today blabla please cancel my 10k contracts for me thanks". My rating of this place went one star up because if it wasn't for the service gentleman John for providing top tier customer service and amazing communication I would have kept my review at 1. About two weeks ago I was on the freeway with my toddler and my car stopped accelerating and then abruptly jolted us forward. It kept doing that up until I parked my car. I thought nothing of it until my husband drove the car and noticed this concerning issue. So Monday we called Kia of Irvine service center and they told us to go ahead and get my 2021 Kia Sorrento with 13k miles towed in. All day Dylan, quite possibly the worst service center employee I've ever dealt with at any dealership, lied to my husband and told him that it would be another hr before he would let us know what was happening with the car. This happened all day. By the time my husband called at the end of the day Dylan completely changed his story. Told us he got us confused with another Sorrento that was towed in the same day and that my car had actually not been touched and wouldn't be for another two weeks cause we had no appt. We were in shock. Finally my husband got a hold of John at the service center and completely changed the experience. At first they thought it was a software update so once they finished I was able to pick it up. Within 30 minutes the issue started happening again and my car was towed back there the next day. And guess what. TURNS OUT MY CAR NEEDED A NEW TRANSMISSION. I had the car for two years. I just laughed. Idk if it had anything to do with my previous experience at my 2nd vehicle service when they supposedly replaced the part for the transmission recall but it's pretty wild that a basically brand new car would need a whole new transmission placed. Once they finished the service I traded my car in and said bye bye to KIA. You put the safety of my family in danger and had a service employee treat my issue with negligence and lack of care. It's been 2 yrs since I became the newest owner of a used vehicle sold by Kia. I have had more visits to the service department w this vehicle than I have had buying used cars through auto trader. My car has was Never professionally detailed prior to leaving the dealership, and this was during the "Covid-19" pandemic. I traded in my old Kia because they attempted to fix my car. After I paid over 2K I'm told all is well. After less than a day my car had same issues. So nothing was fixed. Then I'm told it's the computer board & how very Unsafe, it is. I believed this service guy after he stated he "I just could never let my daughter drive in a car like this, it's just not safe. Let's get u into something that is safe and affordable. My guy Br--- will Hook you up. The place is disorganized. Not one person knows their head from their asses. I've met a donkey w more intelligence. Its so hard to give detail & not sound like a "Karen!!", as kids nowadays call it. I will spare some details of things but I hope to get my point across to those who walk into this business blindly. I am not happy that I never got a call back after 3 messages left for GM to call me. Finally I walked in once I saw the reply of an open door policy. So I had to go out of my way to speak w Gm. Don't think they are happy to see my review. Quick to respond to that but gave me No reason of why a message for the GM was Never received. After my yelp review I got a response. I feel a specific person in service department needs a reality check on how to stop BSing customers. I know I am within my rights, if I weren't why would this guy be so unprofessional as to ask to fill out my personal survey of this specific Kia. I can tell others who work w this guy are uncomfortable. Once I have gone for a reasonable amount of time without a problem, being harassed by a serviceman and get the proper Professional reaction to my legit complaint. Kia of Irvine is the BEST car dealership I have ever seen in my lifetime!I had the most outstanding, legendary customer service from the sales manager, Anthony. I love cars and I was in the market for a reliable commuter car to drive to San Diego to visit my sick brother on a weekly basis. I called the dealership near my house and four other dealerships. My goal was to get the most affordable deal that made sense for my family. After months of calling around and talking to multiple sales people, I finally found the right dealership. Anthony stepped in and provided the most amazing (Nordstrom like) customer service. Everything he promised on the phone call he delivered and to my surprise, additional perks! Anthony exceeded my expectations and the paperwork process was a breeze. I was in and out of there in a jiffy...everything worked out like clockwork. This car buying experience was flawless. Anthony even drove my new car to my home in Corona (since I couldn't drive 2 cars at once) and gave me a thorough tutorial of the car. I came in for a used 2007 Honda Civic and Nadine was super helpful! There was a bit of a hiccup with the process itself (some hidden fees came up only after we signed), but Nadine was able to work with us and give us the deal we wanted. I had a 12 noon service appointment on Saturday and upon arrival I was told that "the guys" were all out to lunch and wouldn't be back to even look at the car until 130. I was given the option of leaving the car or returning at 130.Why would a service department make appointments during a time when no technicians are available? Why would a service department not stagger lunch breaks at different times to move service appointments efficiently? This is not a dealership that cares about its service customers. i was referred to Kia of Irvine by a trusted friend who shared that their service department was simply the best and he was absolutely right. From the moment I arrived, I was pleasantly and professionally greeted. My car was efficiently and effectively diagnosed, my estimate was clear and presented without pressure. I selected the services I needed performed that day and was completely satisfied with the worked performed by the Kia of Irvine service team. My main contact at the dealership was Julio. He kept me apprised throughout the day as to the progress of my vehicle. He was knowledgeable and beyond professional. I was impressed w getting my car at a good deal. But dealing w the service department is not worth the head aches. Anytime I get something serviced here it's either incomplete, not because parts are on back order, or the work was never done correctly in the 1st place. I feel it's never ending for something else happens. There has been times parts are not available, ok I get it, but it's getting ridiculous to use this "Covid" excuse. This last time i was dupped into getting wrk done under warranty. 2 days later my engine sputters & back I go again. My service rep tells me he had a feeling this was gonna happen, but didn't want to say anything" WoW!!! Thanks for my safety & concerns of this. 20K miles on a used car but w a new engine. I ended up with an engine replacement done. I do not drive very much so I'm shocked to see the brake light comes on after 200miles of driving and brakes not functioning, going down to the floor. This was on Sat. informed the service dept. & set up fallowing Monday to come in & Not have to pay another $500 deposit on warranty. I spoke w a real reliable mechanic & come to find that the Master cylinder for brakes has no brake fluid. What really pisses me off is the excuses I'm given. For instance I'm told by a person whom works the department & I once trusted " we never top off fluids to the car when the engine or any work is done. You see the Brake Light is on and this happened because it has a system that's telling you brakes are bad & you need new brakes." Seriously am I that stupid? I bought and replenished w 12oz bottle of brake fluid once this was added the light turned off and brakes brakes were properly functioning. Not to mention when I bring my car in just to have them check it off I'm approached by the service rep to fill out my personal survey of Kia. When I stated I'm not comfortable w him doing that all hell broke loose. Seemed the guy didn't like that & since that day w his lack of professionalism I have not returned but I've attempted in more than one way to contact the GM. I tried Kia consumer & they left on my behalf a message of situation & to contact me. It's been since 4/20 and he has yet to call me back!!
