I’ve been here often over the years. There just isn’t a whole lot of choice in Forest hills for decent after work hang out/happy hour. I usually end up here and the wine has been consistently good over the years. I usually get happy hour but the wine list is varied and large with lots of good options from the finger lakes region (dry reisling is a standout). I don’t love the food. They have a lot of inconsistency in the kitchen. I guess different cooks depending on the day. I usually get a pizza. Sometimes they overcook it and the crust is burnt. But that’s better than when it comes out wet and floppy (gag). About half the time it comes out perfect. I’ll still come because it’s a chill place to get a drink and BS with friends during the week. My husband and I went today for our pre anniversary and it was a great find.  I have frequented this part of queens many times and had no idea this was there!  Glad we found it!  We had the happy hour Spanish red selection and my husband also tried the pinot grigio happy hour selection.  He enjoyed!  We split a small meat and cheese platter and a med platter.  I really enjoyed the meat and cheese platter. Came here tonight to check out this little gem in Forest Hills.  The place is very quaint, nice for a date or date night with  your husband.  I had a glass of nice red wine from the Finger Lakes wines - Lakewood  Very yummy! I went here with my mom and little one. We stopped in Saturday afternoon for a drink. The wine selection was great. I enjoyed the red wine list and my mom, who is a strictly sweet wine person, found one she enjoyed. The bartender was also serving the tables, and he made great suggestions on cheese platters and wines for my mom. I really enjoyed what they offered and they were very accommodating of me and my daughter (provided a high chair no problems). Came here with two friends a few weeks ago on a Friday. This a small place and can easily be missed, but it's such a gem. The bartender/waitress (I believe her name was Nicole) seemed to be the only 'server' on a Friday evening, but she was on top of everything . I never felt like we had to look for her to get her attention. She was attentive and helped recommend a wine for each of us. She even gave us some extra pita bread slices for our appetizer. Had dinner and drinks at Keuka Kafe on Friday evening. A cozy wine bar with excellent wine options and a relaxing vibe. The food however left a bit to be desired. Quality: Loved the wine selections at Keuka Kafe. Lots of options for glasses, allowing you to taste your way to something that fits. Ordered the Large Meat & Cheese Board and was not particularly thrilled with the meat presented. They just did not have enough options to make five quality selections. The Mussels were good, but the dish needed much more of the White Wine Sauce we paid extra for.Quantity: Excellent wine pours, food a little on the smaller side.Value: $36 for Large Meat & Cheese Board. $16 for Mussels. Wine Glasses fell between $11 and $15.Ambiance: Keuka Kafe is located in the Forest Hills area of Queens. It is a small space with a long bar on one wall and a few tables along the other. A friend stumbled upon this gem while looking for a quick dinner spot. My love of wine and cheese lead him to here. Great find. Very cute and welcoming environment. The bartender/waiter was knowledgeable and gave great suggestions. We enjoyed a spread of cheeses and meats which made the love for this spot brew. For my entree I had the fish tacos (something that I don't believe go together fish and tacos ) but I was feeling adventurous and ordered it. Upon initial tasting, it was just that fish and tacos with some flavor. Tasty but a bit too moist for my liking. The waiter apologized and provided my recommendations to the kitchen staff  and removed it from our bill. A true little gem in Forest Hills.  The wine "Cheers" of the neighborhood, where everyone knows your name. A friendly, warm, inviting crowd there most nights and I have made many new friends there.  The servers (Vita, Dan and Nicole) are all great as are the owners (Ollie and Olga), making it better than it already is.  A terrific selection of eclectic wines at reasonable prices with great food.   The happy hour deals are terrific and the wines served for under $10 at that time are better than most wines served by the glass at bars and restaurants.  Paired with the "happy hour" mussels, it's great deal.   I like many of the sandwiches, pizzas and salads.  The fish tacos are a favorite and the daily soups are homemade as well.   Lovely and varied meat and cheese plates are great when paired with wines as lovely snack.  I have never made it to dessert there, except for a dessert wine, which suffices.     Unfortunately, they don't have any outdoor space as it would be lovely to spend a nice summer evening outdoors sipping wine and having some of their food.   And, oh yes, they do wine tastings on the first Monday of most months.   Don't tell all your friends, just some, as there won't be room for me. Since writing my first review 5 years ago, we've been back to Keuka far more times than I've checked in.  We found that quality of food to be continually improving such that this has become a fun place for a simple meal with (gasp! ) without wine.Their occasional themed meals are fun and tasty. Yesterday, we enjoyed their "2nd Annual Pop Culture inspired Prix Fix Menu" which included a cocktail, tasting portions of duck breast and smoked salmon, and a sublime Turkey and Potato Pancake & Root Vegetable Stew.  Delicious! Came here for Thanksgiving and had the pre fix menu and it was delicious. Every part of the meal was amazing. The soup and salad were served quickly and were both amazing. Love it here. It's a small, friendly wine bar with great service. The server/bartender never fails to recommend a good glass of wine based on what they have currently in stock. She's knowledgeable and listens to what you like in a wine. Bonus points for having locally produced wines on the menu. I haven't tried all the items on the food menu, but, I can say I've never been disappointed yet. My recommendation: sit at the bar, try a wine flight, try pretty much any food item on the menu, and have a good conversation with those around you. More...
