I just relocated back here from VA & was told I had to cancel my VA YMCA membership and get a new one. I thought that was odd being that their memberships are supposed to be good across the country. But I went there the other day to join. Andrea was super friendly & there was a man who gave me a tour of the facility. I don't remember his name now, but he told me that I could've used my VA membership here. That annoyed me because I am paying over $10 more here in NC. I'm hoping that the group exercise classes they offer will make it worth that extra money. :(One thing I noticed is that they don't offer MixxedFit at the YMCAs here in NC like VA does. They need to. It's an awesome group fitness class & I miss it a lot. Look it up if you've never heard of it but love to dance. It's so much fun. More...

The staff is FUN and welcoming! They laugh and have a good time with each and every member. Engaging with the members is important. I even see the staff members taking classes and enjoying their time with members! The building is clean and the staff works hard to met their members needs and desires. I would love to see a suggestion box for members to give feedback. I recommend giving the members a information board in the main lobby of class schedules, upcoming sports registration, upcoming pool events and much more. More...

I have been a member since June 2019 and had nothing but a great experience! The staff including Sherry, Donna, Dawn and Whitney are extremely nice. The facility is very clean and up to date. Great facilities. Membership entitles you to access to two facilities - Kerr and a smaller gym at the Factory. Very encouraging staff available on the floors. I use the Kerr facility a lot because of the pool. It also has an outdoor pool open during the summer months. Everyone is very polite and I love the warm welcome and the very heart felt see ya later when you walk out. I love the Variety of equipments that they have to work out on. Atmosphere to workout!!!!

If your looking to workout but don't know where to start. You should try some of the group fitness classes.I love their group fitness classes since they have open I have attended classes 5 days out the week. The staff is so welcoming. About the size of the Poole center on Aversboro good for quick exercise and there is greenway from wetland center that leads there nicely situated in the area wish it offered some things that the Hillsborough st location has such as squash etc

I love this gym, it suits all my needs, it has Good cardio machines and a great free weight lifting area and a suitable core workout area as well. The only con about this place is that the gym is fairly small and if there was a little bit more space beetween the machines it would get a 5 star review and plus the staff their, especially the trainers, they tend to help ONLY if asked and most of the time stand around watching the sports being played on there TVs and some guys flirt with some of the women there, I’ve been a member for 10 months now and training to be a body builder and own my OWN gym but this gym is only good if u have kids and are into activities, not really the best gym if u ask me... I’ve been a member of this gym for as long as I can remember. I am still under 18, and the staff is very kind to me and doesn’t seem very judgemental of me, a 14 year-old girl that enjoys exercise. The staff is also kind to my younger sisters. Whenever both me and my mother go to the gym, my sisters often want to tag along just so they can go to the funhouse. The machines and weights are in perfect shape, and it isn’t intimidating or scary to walk over to the strength section every once in a while, unlike in most gyms. There are some subtle hints of the gym being faith oriented, such as “The Athelete’s Prayer” on the wall in the gym or an occasional poster about a children’s bible camp. Due to this, the people here are very nice. They, too, aren’t judgemental of me and don’t mind cleaning their machines after use. tl;dr: This gym is very kid friendly. Both me and my little sisters love coming here. Everyone, including staff and regular gym-goers are extremely friendly. The machines are in good shape, as well as the indoor and outdoor pools.
