So, when driving along the Kamehameha Highway there are many opportunities to try out some local cuisine. This place called out to us after driving by several times. The owner was friendly to us and patient as we looked over the menu. The food was ready in a reasonable amount of time. I was impressed with the flavors and quality. The construction of the building seems a bit hodge-podge. As a mainlander I was unprepared for the heat inside the building so we chose to eat at a local beach. There seems to be enough parking. Really great food and friendly service! We got the teriyaki chicken, coconut shrimp and mac salad. All were super good. By far the best mac salad we've had so far on our trip and we've tried 3 other places!

I give it 4 stars for what it is: a Surfside dive. The place has 'hole in the wall' written all over it. Walking in you see that it was once probably a hopping hangout. It's brightly colored yet covered in the patina (some would say grime) of yesteryear. There's no air-conditioning so you have to hope for a decent breeze, which was fortunwtely present when we visited. After lots of typical Hawaiian and Korean food I was hankering for a regular old burger to get a feel for it. The food and the deals are good. I enjoyed my garlic steak fries with heaps of chopped garlic atop them. The burger was pretty similar to a five guys burger style wise and also wrapped in tinfoil. My wife thoroughly enjoy enjoyed the pork adobo, swiping some of the fried chopped garlic from the fries to enhance the rice that came with her pork. The adobo plate came with standard white rice and a choice of macaroni, potato, or tossed salad.The place has Bible verses adorning the walls, an interesting decorative choice,to be sure, but upon getting to know the owner a bit, one that expresses a heartfelt devotion more than preachiness. The food is simple fare, and extras are sparse but the food is pretty well done. Prices are reasonable for the area and the portions were fairly enormous. Two people could easily share a plate.
