I went to Ken Paves to support a friend who was getting 6' cut. The recommendation came from one of the many facebook groups we follow so she was slightly skeptical of going by herself. When we went to Ken Paves everyone was so kind and helpful. Christina listened to everything my friend said and even gave recommendations on how to keep her hair healthy for the future. Sorry. English not language. I got hair fix at this store. It was first thing I do in US and of A. I had Ben cut my hair and it's incredible how eloquent I can write when describing Ben. His execution and mastery with scissors can only be compared to that of the famous Russian painter, Fyodor Rokotov. I would give him my prosthetic leg if he asked for it. People at store are well. Ashley gave me a great color and cut. She was precise with the highlight placement and the cut was exactly what I wanted. I saw the work of others being done too and this salon is definitely stylish and high caliber . There are tons of 5 star salons but few are real standouts. I've been to ones that were highly rated and they turned out to be dull. You won't be disappointed here, but I suggest looking at pictures of the actual work done by each salon you're considering. I just had the most amazing experience with Christina for haircut and highlight! She is a true artist!As a blonde it is hard to achieve the perfect "natural" and "non stripey" look that does not have gold and also blends naturally with darker roots. She did the most incredible highlighting job - my color is literally perfection. She was so personable and warm and truly cares about making her clients happy. Also - everyone at the Salon is friendly which was a pleasant experience. Tarra, Tarra, Tarra is the best hairdresser and colorist in the salon. She took care of me this week again and I'm very happy about the results I can't even stop looking at my hair when I pass by a mirror. Ken Paves salon offers the most enjoyable salon experience. From the minute you walk into the door to the minute you leave. I was offered tea and coffee by upper management! They really take the time to value you as a guest. The atmosphere is so amazing and every employee makes a point to say hi and make you feel welcomed. Tarra has been coloring and styling my hair for the past 5 years and the results have always exceeded my expectations. Having only a partial vision about what I would like to do at each appointment, Tarra has always provided great recommendations on the final look so the selected color would compliment my skin tone in the best way. I have been going to this salon for probably 5 years now, and I absolutely love it. For being a high-end salon, it's very vibey and cozy - it doesn't feel uptight or pretentious in any way. This is not only because the space is so beautiful, but also because everyone who works there is genuinely friendly. I always am greeted with smiles and hellos by every stylist when I walk in - everyone just makes you feel welcome and special in some way. My stylist - Alexis - is the BEST! :) I can't say enough great things about her... she's a beautiful person on the inside and out. She is a true artist when it comes to her craft. She's passionate about what she does... I trust her so much, that I basically sit in the chair and tell her to do whatever she feels like doing, and i have never been disappointed! I'm also blonde which can be difficult to find someone who does it properly, and she is amazing on blondes. I think she really has a fun time doing highlights, and she is super creative with them. She's also extremely patient and will work with your hair, however long it takes. She is brilliant at cutting - she always gives me fresh ideas, and she's really changed my hair. By far, the best experience I've had at a Salon and with my stylist, Alexis. The salon itself has a fun vibe and staff's so friendly. A friend told me how amazing Alexis was, since I had been looking for a stylist in LA. She wasn't lying! I came to Alexis with extremely long roots and she worked her magic. I've never had a stylist spend this much time with me. I have long thick hair and Alexis spend hours working on coloring. I wanted to give a review of the salon and Casey P below, literally took all the words out of my mouth in her review and I could not agree more. This salon is amazing!!! By far the only salon I will go to. The people that work there are some of the most genuine, down to earth people you can possibly ever meet especially in LA. Another great experience and service at Ken Paves! Everyone at Ken Paves are so friendly. I was in my 2nd trimester of pregnancy and had a balayage highlights done on me as it was the safest method. Since it was a lengthy process, they had ordered me food, and went to my car a couple of times to feed my meter for me. If I could give this salon 1000 stars i would. The hype around the name doesn't even come close to the talent that works wonders inside this little cottage. When I first went in, I was afraid that it was going to be pretentious, I was nervous to even step inside let alone look at the bill afterward. Im not a celebrity, Im not a model and certainly not rich- Im just a hard working girl that is very particular about her hair.The warmth greets you as soon as you walk in the door. Every person in the room greets you with a smile- and not a fake smile but a genuine "How are you." It amazing that a place like this even exists in LA. I never felt out of place, no one was staring at the fact I wore my beat up sweats in there- they treat every person that walks in the door equally and with the highest regard. Even when Ken is walking around the studio he greets everyone, says hello and thank you, even plays with my dogs. I haven't ever looked back. ALEXIS is by far the best hairs stylist I have ever had (and I have had A TON- Im from NYC, I've been to every salon imaginable) she is so sweet, beautiful and funny. But her talent far surpasses any expectation I had. Her attention to detail is unparalleled. She doesnt just SEE color she tries to see it as you do (I see red in everything) and she fine tunes her work accordingly. I know I can be a pain in the butt, I like  things how I like them and she has never let me walk out less than satisfied. She collaborates her talent with her clients desires while making SURE to maintain the integrity of the hair (and we have been blonde, brown, dark, light , ombre and back again) Her rate is always beyond fair, and in no way extreme for the quality.Please I have paid hundred and gone home crying at other places. I have never seen a person working there that wasn't doing amazing things with their clients, everyone I have referred to ALEXIS has stayed with her sand sent me thank you notes for bringing them to her. It took me a few years to find a salon I loved.  Started coming to the Ken Paves salon earlier this year for highlights and haircuts. ..and I'm just in love with this place.Hair:  I go to Alexis for all things related to my hair.  Highlights, low lights, cuts, hair maintenance, etc.  She just rocks.  Actually, everyone in this salon is amazing and sweet.  Location:  The salon is in the heart of Beverly Hills so it can take you awhile to get to when you are coming here after work in rush hour.  Metered street parking only with a two hour max.  I normally don't have any issues finding a spot.  However, I do find that I have to run out to the meter to fill it since I normally go past the 2 hr mark.Ambience:  This place is stupid cute.  A very romantic, whimsical feel with chandeliers, a little garden, etc.  Lots of great natural light.  I love spending time here.Overall:  I love the vibe here.  I love the people.  This is my forever salon and would recommend it in a heartbeat. I'm visiting from the east coast. Randomly walked in yesterday for a "fun LA haircut" and coincidentally Chloe had just received a cancelation. She blew me away, as did the salon!! Mallory, Mallory, Mallory for cut and color!! She's absolutely AMAZING! I work in luxury retail and was told by a friend whose hair I had always admired about her so I braved it and made an appointment. The salon is everything you read about - cozy, cute, comfortable and friendly. At first glance you'd think it would be intimidating because it's clearly such an exceptional salon, but everyone there goes out of their way to make you feel at home. Mallory convinced me to cut my well below my shoulders, comfort blanket hair into a bob, and I was scared to death. I'm a brunette with hair I consider tricky to color but keep looking natural, and the job Mallory did is something I'll always remember. Lorien saved my hair and my sanity.Back in March, I got my hair highlighted at another (unnamed) salon a few days before my engagement photos. The result was horrendous. I had horizontal stripes all over my hair. After an hour or two of crying, I asked some of my friends for salon advice. Thank goodness one of them pointed me in the right direction and recommended Lorien at Ken Paves. She graciously squeezed me in (I had two days before the photos!!!) and fixed me up. My hair looked amazing - a beautiful natural-looking blonde, shiny, and no more horizontal stripes! The highlights were absolutely perfect. I have loyally been going to her since, and just got my hair highlighted and cut two days ago for my wedding this coming weekend. I couldn't be happier!
