Kelly was super responsive during the initial planning and day of arrangements. That made me feel secure and confident I made the right decision to hire him as our DJ.
During the party, Kelly had great tracks and mixes prepared based on our previous conversations. He also had a requests list to pass around and did a great job mixing in the requested tracks to keep the vibe alive. His set up was superb with great lights for the dance floor and a huge tv with his promo and flame graphics to compliment his speakers and DJ set.
All and all, I would definitely hire DJ Kelly Slater for another show as he was professional, responsive, chill, and set the vibes for a great party.

Kelly was great to communicate with and offers great pricing. However, I was a little less than happy. I sent him a playlist with 3+hrs worth of songs. My reception was supposed to be 3 hours long but last minute I added & paid for an additional hour. I expected at least all of the playlist songs to be played as I said those were my must plays however day off I noticed there wasn’t much of my playlist playing. One of the owners of my reception venue was walking around asking my guests what songs they’d like played so I ended up wroting down multiple songs from the playlist to be played. Only some of which he played. At this point, I started getting really irritated and so my family/friends asked him to stick with the playlist to which he replied he’d be “repeating songs” so I provided him with songs again from my playlist that he didn’t play that I had written down this time we was told he “didn’t have the songs”. Maybe I am crazy for being upset.. but I hired a DJ and made it really simply by asking him to at least play my songs which I provided on a Spotify playlist so to hear that he ended up not having them the day of the event made for a pretty upset bride. I was so upset, my guests and I ended up leaving the venue 30 or so minutes early so we could head back to the strip and play the playlist ourselves in our party bus. More...

Allana, Unfortunately, the playlist you provided to me was not 3 hours long. The average song is 3 minutes long, which equates to about 20 per hour. The Spotify playlist you sent me had approximately 30 songs, of which I had all but 2. So, with that, I played through ALL of the songs you provided in just about the 1st hour. With that, I was forced to begin playing other songs from the same artists to fill in the gaps or recycle songs from your playlist. At one point, the owner of the venue came up and told me he was going to walk around and ask your guests for requests, write them down and bring them to me to be played, which we did - each of which I played. After that, your step father came up and asked that I only play songs from your playlist, to which I explained to him that you had given me a very short playlist and stick to it would force me to replay all of your playlist again and again… He said to just stick to your playlist. I told him I would… Shortly thereafter, your best friend/maid of honor came up to me and asked me for 2 requests, which were songs I had already played, and I explained and showed her your entire Spotify playlist on my phone… She then told me to play whatever I wanted and to use my best judgement when playing music from the artists you had chosen, and stated that as your best friend she gave me permission to play others because your playlist was so short. But that is the dilemma. If you had a problem with the music, you should have come to me yourself at which time you could have looked over the songs on your playlist and expanded it, but you did not. I’m sorry that you were disappointed in the music, but being ordered to stick with a 25-30 song playlist for 3 hours is not possible. And as the person responsible for the playlist, you should have come to me yourself so we could have gone over the playlist ourselves…

DJ Kelly Slater was beyond amazing. He exceeded our expectations on every level and made my dad’s 60th birthday / military retirement so special. He has a great set up, he was personable with our guests, he made karaoke fun, he read the atmosphere and played the appropriate music at the perfect time, etc etc etc. I can go on and on describing our positive experience with him. He was a great and fair price, came early and took his time to set up everything beforehand, and did anything and everything in his power to make the party perfect. His communication beforehand was great and I felt like I knew him before he even came to our house. He was polite and he went with the flow and would do anything to help make the night a success. I can’t wait to have another big party so we can hire him again (I will DEFINITELY be telling my husband to hire him for my 40th)…. Without a doubt, I will be recommending him to all of our friends and family who need a DJ. I can’t tell you to how many guests called my dad and myself the day after the party saying how much fun they had. I owe a big chunk of that success to DJ Kelly Slater. What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
I tend to play to the females! If the females are dancing and having fun, the rest of the crowd will follow!
How would you describe your ‘style’?
Hmmm, my style is kinda hard to describe. I guess you'd have to see me spin and then you let me know! Ha, ha!
What do you love most about your job?
I love seeing the people I'm spinning for laughing, dancing and having a great time! It brings a smile to my face!
What inspired you to start your own business?
The economic crash of 2007. I had to find other means of working and making money - DJing & cosmetology (yes, I have a cosmetology license) were businesses I could do for life and take anywhere should the need arise.
Why should our clients choose you?
I believe my clients should choose me because I'm an older DJ, more professional & responsible. Most DJ's today are younger and irresponsible. They show up late, want to leave early, play what they want to play, yet demand to get paid. That's not me.

I can provide my services remotely through www.Mixcloud.com, where I have a weekly live-stream radio broadcast. It can quickly be targeted at a client's specific event.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I basically encourage all of my clients to social distance, wash their hands and use hand sanitizer before, during and after events in order to help keep my clients safe during this time.

As a DJ, I offer my customers the full experience no matter what the event. In addition to having a music library of over 80,000 songs, I offer lighting, visuals, graphic design to promote any event and even aerial drone photography for outside events! I do it all!
