Kelly Johnson Photography

I am thrilled to write a review about Kelly and her work. My quartet composes music for Bay Area modern dance choreography. Kelly was so helpful as she was creative in her direction; she also helped us relax in front of the camera. Her photography captured the feeling of our music which is important to us. It can often be a serious challenge to match the music with a physical image. Kelly listened to our sound online and then scouted out possible location sites ahead of time. She was incredibly prepared----she had an assistant with her and a small table replete with coffee and treats. It was particularly cold that day so her hospitality, though unnecessary, was warmly welcomed. Kelly's Technical skills: As the daughter of an underwater photographer I'm accustomed to sorting through photos to target the best shots. There were too many great shots to choose from! Kelly's natural inclinations--to capture the subject's unaffected personality--were spot on. Kelly provided a range for us to choose from--posed and candid photos. Kelly was my photographer for my last birthday party. I was immensely impressed by her professionalism and how she made my guests feel so at ease. In fact, most of the time we didn't even realize she was snapping shots of us but then she would immediately appear whenever we wanted to request a particular photo. And the results were incredible! Kelly took such incredible photos at political events, which were clearly so much better than any others posted online. She has a way of capturing people's emotions in a beautiful way.  Her photography skills were so amazing, I asked her to photograph my dad's 80th birthday, as well as a set of professional head shots/family portaits.  She is the best.
