Kelley's bbq ribs are number one. I was craving them so i went out in the rain with my p.j.s and slippers on to get some. We LOVE this place!! (Just wish they were open on weekends.)A little ashamed to say that we eat here about once every two weeks. The ribs, chicken, beans and cornbread muffins are out of this world and the staff is always so nice. Slightly pricy and messy, but pretty good! Are at the joint with the family and they didn't give us any plates so that was a hassle but we made it work. Not a fan of the chicken, it was rather bland by itself, you had to mix it with the chili or something else. The ribs were yummy! And loved the sweet tea! Having been there from the start...was offered to be a partner in the business but that didn't seem fair or right to me being that it's a family business. In fact, all that I asked is that they trust me with my business savvy and listen......I had to arm wrestle Mike for that priviledge. Since it was a "draw" he conceded that I won. Today, they remain true to the recipes handed down through their family. Everything is made from scratch and not many restaurants can claim that truth. This is my 2nd review as I haven't been in awhile. This is STILL the best BBQ I've ever had...especially since we just visited the Smoking' Oak in Vancouver, WA which was touted as the best BBQ outside Texas. ....not. I brought my friend from NZ to eat here on Sunday...CLOSED!! I always come on Tuesdays so had no idea they were not open on Sunday & we drove all the way from the end of Camano Island...my bad...so this is just to remind people THEY ARE NOT OPEN ON SUNDAY! Grabbed lunch here on a whim after visiting the tulip fields (tip: Kelley's is OPEN on weekends during the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival! ). Excellent customer service and even better food. The brisket was amazing, the macaroni was devoured by adults and toddlers alike, and the beans were loaded with onions and flavor. As a southern girl with a grillologist mother, THE RIBS WERE DELICIOUS!!!I also enjoyed the macaroni and cheese. The portions aren't super large, but when you think about the fact that the meat is well marinated, seasoned (not salty), smoked to perfection and MOIST. .. you get what you pay for!Definitely will be back whenever I'm up North if Seattle! Loved my experience and my meal! Staff was great, spent all of 5 minutes in the drive through line at peak lunch hour. Pork came in a separate container so the sandwich wasn't soggy by the time I got back to the office. Mac and cheese was on point and sweet tea was fresh. What more can you ask for? We had Kelly's BBQ cater an event in our home. The owner, Connie, was so easy to work with - very fast reply on our original email. She invited us to the restaurant to try everything so we could pick favorites. We hired one of the staff, Maddy, to deliver and help serve and clean up. She was incredibly helpful and friendly. Our guests RAVED about the food especially the beans, corn bread, potato salad and the ribs. Prices were very fair and the portions generous. Wowie-Wow-Wow-Wow!!! This is THE BEST BBQ I've ever tasted. So glad I caught it in the corner of my eyes as we were heading towards Burlington Outlet Mall from the Roozengaarde tulip farm. I ordered combo #4 (full rack St. Louis style spare ribs, 1/2 tender chicken, 1 pint cowboy beans, 3 fluffy cornbread muffins, 1/2 pint bbq sauce) for $48.95. The meat were both smoked to perfection. Both were moist, succulent, fall-off-the-bone tender! Their bbq sauce was perfect as well with a tangy, sweet, peppery taste to it, and pairs really well with the bbq meat. I also enjoyed their cowboy beans and is the best I've had so far. It has a perfect balance of sweetness, tanginess, meatiness, and spiciness--so good! I could probably eat the whole pint all by myself. I have a new favorite cornbread--sorry Famous Dave's! The homemade cornbread here was served cold, but I was still blown ways how delicious it was. I'm sure it would have been even better warmed up....I can only imagine.It's a small drive-thru pod with a encased outdoor sitting area that has a long farm style picnic table that can probably sit at least 20 people. There are also tree plants, potted flowers, and a colorful rooster metal art. Great for taking pictures.I would drive all the way up here just to satisfy my hankering for SCRUMPTIOUS BBQ!
