planning a party can be extremely overbearing, especially for those who are detailed oriented. I originally tried planning my party myself, but I soon realized that it is impossible. I found KefLA Events and thought I’d give them a shot. It’s safe to say that Alik and her team turned my vision into a reality. She is very quick to answer any questions you have, and has a beautiful eye for design. I for one am not the easiest person to work with. Throughout the whole process, I had a million and one questions, and I constantly wanted to add things or change things. Alik answered kindly, respectfully, and promptly every single time. I am definitely an over thinker, but let me tell you, I for once did not have to think about a single thing. She had it all handled! I highly recommend KefLA Events. We hired Kef LA Events to help plan, set up and clean up our first baby shower. In our agreement, tables, chairs, decorations, drinks (non alcoholic) food and desserts were included.

Alik was attentive and responsive during the entire planning of our baby shower. She listened and created a vision board of exactly what we wanted.

We rented an outdoor venue (backyard) for 6 hours which worked out perfectly. The day of our event we were shocked to see that Alik was the only one setting up. We expected a production with other people who would help her including a caterer. But regardless, we did not interfere with her set up. Alik was able to bring to life all of the ideas we had shared with her about our baby shower. The set ended up being simply stunning.

Unfortunately, Alik did not provide any protection for our food when it came to flies. We had to have family members constantly waving off flies which interfered with their ability to engage and enjoy the baby shower. The food was also cold by the time people began to eat.

Aside from that, our baby shower went as planned. Our guests enjoyed the space and had a wonderful time playing the baby games our host/dear friend was able to provide.

It was during the clean up process that we had an issue with Alik and her event company. We were informed that Alik would come by at a certain time to begin the clean up process. She was late but we trusted that since she knew the clean up had to happen before 5pm that she would have people to help her out. Again, we were shocked to see that Alik arrived by herself and began cleaning alone. A few minutes later two gentlemen showed up who helped her remove our champagne wall but that was it. As time got closer to when we had to leave the premises, we noticed that the tables, chairs, and table cloths were still there. We urged Alik to please follow up with her vendor to come by as soon as possible to complete the clean up process. Alik assured us that sometimes these vendors have other pick ups and that was probably the reason why they were running behind. Alik left the event without making sure the property was taken, leaving us to deal with the home owner who wanted the property removed completely as she had another event the next day. We continued to reach out to Alik after she left but she became less responsive. It was during this time that Alik informed us that she was trying to reach the vendor but was not getting a response. We communicated several times how concerned we were about being charged additional fees due to the lack of follow through in the clean up.

We eventually left the property with the tables, chairs and table cloths left behind. The home owner that allowed us to have the baby shower became inpatient and asked that the property be removed from her home before 10pm. At that time (9:30pm) my fiancée and her friends had to drive back to the location and place the property on the curbside in front of the home. This totally disrupted our plans to enjoy our time with our family and friends who had flown from all over the country to be apart of our baby shower. This was completely unacceptable since we paid for services that were not fully rendered.

The following day the owner informed us that the property had still not been removed from the front of her home and she was furious. Again, we communicated with Alik the importance of this matter. When we spoke with Alik, she was responsive and apologetic. However, she then stated that she was no longer available due to having a health emergency and redirected me and my fiancée to her partner Troy. Now this is when things take a turn for the worst. Troy was disrespectful, unprofessional and completely rude/verbally abusive. He was combative when we informed him we needed the property to be removed immediately. He began to threaten us after we told him it was unacceptable that the property was left behind and that it needed it be gone by 10am that day (morning after our event). At one point we had reserved a u-haul and were ready to take the chairs and tables else where since Kef LA Events did not help get them off of the property. We informed Troy of our plans to remove the property that was left behind and he then began to threaten us to not do so or we would face multiple charges for the property. Eventually, Troy reached out and stated he was on his way to remove the property and not to worry. By the time we showed up to the event space to confirm he had removed the property, he and another gentleman were there almost done removing the items. At this point, Troy and his male companion asked my fiancée to pay them extra for the clean up they had done. Troy then verbally attacked my fiancée and her friends calling them “fucking idiots” and “liars”. The way that Troy was so disrespectful to three women who had been dealing with this ordeal was beyond any kind of acceptable behavior I would expect from any man or representative of any event planning company.

It is for this reason that this event company, Kef LA Events, is not getting a higher review from us. The mistreatment of paying customers by Troy (Alik’s partner) and the mishandling of the chairs/tables/tablecloths left behind until the next morning is the reason why we would not hire Alik anymore. We were fined almost $400 from the owner of the house for this mishap. We asked Alik to reimburse us and she did thankfully but all of this could have been avoided if the property was removed on time as expected.

We're glad you liked your setup. We put a lot of effort into your event and went above and beyond to bring your vision to life. We worked within a tight budget and still managed to bring all your ideas to life. We'd like to address a few of your claims. To begin, the setup and cleanup were both done by our team. We were there long before our clients arrived, and so they did not see the work that went into preparing the space by our team. It was when the clients came that the remaining members of our team had completed their work and left. As for cleanup, the team helped with the entire cleanup process, not just removing the champagne wall. As communicated to the clients, we were diligently trying to reach the rental company when they failed to pick up the tables and chairs. The clients were the ones who arranged the venue and were in exclusive communication with the homeowner - despite attempts by us to take over that process. As such, "leaving them to deal with the homeowner" is untrue. They were dealing with the homeowner from the start. On Sunday morning, we were finally able to reach the rental company and were informed that their driver had gotten in a serious accident and sustained injuries. Unfortunately, we were not contacted about this the day prior, so it was out of our control. We were informed by clients that they had rented a Uhaul and were going over to pick up the rentals- without first consulting with us. In the meantime, we had arranged to have the tables picked up. Clients also threatened to discard the rentals at a Goodwill or Salvation Army, which is why they were warned that they had no right to do so and would be responsible for the costs of the items. As for asking to pay "extra for the clean up," this was simply a misunderstanding. The gentleman believed clients owed an unpaid balance, and simply informed them they will have to pay the remaining balance due to us. The claim that clients were called profanities is a blatant fabrication. Finally, we promptly reimbursed clients for any penalty fees they faced from the homeowner.

Alik did a great job on my centerpieces; however, I had to assist her with the setup and she never returned to breakdown after the event my guest ended up helping me. I am very disappointed! I am giving her 3 stars because of the compliments I received on the centerpieces. I wish she would have told me she wasn’t returning as I could have made other precisions. Hi Tracy, I’m so glad you liked the centerpieces. I was hired to put together your centerpieces and help you set up for the event, which I did. As you know, I was ill. I let you know I’d be coming back to get my things, but we had never agreed that I would clean up your event. Please understand that I agreed to do this event for you for a relatively low fee, as the event was a fundraiser. You told me you needed help setting up because in the past it’s been hard for you to do it alone, and I agreed to do just that. You were appreciative that I showed up despite feeling ill. I apologize for not showing up to get my things, as I took a turn for the bad and did not have the capacity to drive nor make other arrangements.

I can’t recommend these guys enough! Alik really went above and beyond for our Arabian nights surprise birthday party. She was so communicative and receptive to what we wanted and ended up delivering more than we expected. Alik and her team handled the set up perfectly it was just the way we had imagined it. We did not need to worry about a thing as she handled every single aspect of this party, (mind I say their prices are great!) I continue to get compliments on this event weeks later, I will definitely be recommending Kef LA to my friends and family and cannot wait to work with her again.
