My husband purchased a 2 hour private photography lesson with this business last Christmas. A year later, I have yet to take my lesson.

- Rescheduled multiple times at the last minute
- Changed her mind on in person lessons (what was paid for) and said I had to do virtual lessons
- Attempted to squeeze me in on a group lesson
- When I asked to reschedule because my baby suddenly got a fever, asked me to find someone to care for her so as not to inconvenience the business owner. She complained that I rescheduled 3 times already, when she was the one who rescheduled numerous times.
- Overall, rude in communications and seemed irritated that she had to give me a lesson.
- it's a service that she offered that was paid for; if you don't want to do it, then don't offer it.
- Worst experience I've had in a long time with business owner. If I could give 0 stars, I would.
- I asked for a refund and she just completely went silent; no responses. Guess she made a free $125 off of us.

I highly recommend Katydid Photography. Kathy is so friendly, a wonderful teacher, and an amazing photographer! I learned so much about my DSLR camera in her Beginners Digital Camera Class. Hands-on learning is so important in photography. I have continued to take her workshops to brush up on the skills and learn some new tips. I can’t wait for her Holiday Light Workshop in Peddler’s Village next week! I recently had Kathy take my Business Portrait photo. I like being behind the camera, not in front of it, but Kathy made me feel comfortable. After trying a variety of poses, we found the photo I love! Then, Kathy made a few digital edits on the photo, including minor touch-ups and my favorite, changing the background. The actual background was a normal, mixed gray color, but she took some blue from my website and mixed it in there! Because of my interest in photography, Kathy also walked me through in more detail of what she was doing and why, such as the specific lighting for my face and the digital editing process. Just finished up the beginners photography class with Kathy. Looking forward to going on our field trip soon, to apply everything I’ve learned in the last four weeks ! Though I have loved taking pictures with my Nikon D3100 for 14 years now ( and I do have many really nice photos) I am kind of embarrassed to say I never took it off AUTO ! If I knew then what I know now, my nice photos could be great photos ( well maybe )This class was beyond what I had hoped it would be ! Kathy is kind and funny and so knowledgeable ! I looked forward to going to class each week and I am truly going to miss it, now that it’s over ! Kathy offers some really awesome workshops, like night time photography and playing with light, so I will definitely see her again, when I attend some of these. If you love taking pictures but don’t understand all the buttons and functions on your camera, go go go to this class~~~ you will be so happy you did !! It is so much fun and you will learn SO much More...

Kathy People is so friendly and helpful. She really was able to teach me to learn my camera. There is just so much to learn when you get a new camera and the manual just can not compare to Kathy's classes. I also loved the workshop to special locations throughout the area. So I just finished my 3rd class with Katydid. I have to say it gets better every week. I understand what my camera does. Kathy has a ton of knowledge and is able to start at a level that anyone can understand and build you up. I have watched 100's of youtube videos about taking pictures and it upsets me. I will never get the time back in my life. Those videos just tell you how they set up the camera. Every video you watch confuses you more. Kathy teaches you about your camera. DO YOU HEAR ME? YOUR CAMERA. Not her camera or a generic camera, your camera. Kathy has worked with most of the makes and models of camera so she know what they can do. Kathy knows the multiple menus in your camera and what it all means. I have one more class and a field trip that we are all going on. I really look forward to the classes. It has been a long time since I was excited about learning something new. So if you want to see what you and your camera are capable of. I took Katy's four week beginners camera class this September and absolutely loved it. Katy went over basic camera settings such as aperture, ISO shutter speeds and white balance. At the end of the four weeks, I was amazed at what I learned and how much I didn't know what my camera could do. Katy teach style is also unique, she not only teaches you what you need to know but also engages her students in activities and answers all questions throughly. She is also a lot of fun to work with and has a great personality. I would recommend her class to anyone who has a DSLR and who wants to learn how to use for more then the auto settings. More...

I had the pleasure to retire this past January and my wife purchased a photography class for me from Katydidphotography, I really didn't want to attend but it was a gift and so I went. Well what a pleasure the class was and now I actually know what all the buttons on my camera are for, Kathy was wonderful and made it easy for this old man to learn. Towards the end of the class Kathy mentioned a location for catching eagles in their natural habitat, I went for the ride and had the thrill of my life. I was able to get some pictures that will last a lifetime and are actually "wall worthy" what a thrill. Anyway I will most definitely be going back in the fall for more classes to add to the thrill of taking my own pictures. You won't be disappointed in your results. More...

At Katydid Photography, Kathy Peoples takes beautiful photos and offers classes that teach students how to take their own photos. She even has classes so you can further edit your art with Adobe programs. After taking Kathy's beginner's digital camera class, I learned so much that I didn't even know was possible with a camera! I know now how to use features of my camera and what to look for when taking an awesome picture of my backyard or family vacation. I used to never take my camera off Auto, but now I refuse to use that mode! After taking Kathy's beginner course, I learned so much that I didn't even know was possible with a camera. I now know features of the camera, as well as what to look for when taking a photo in order to take the best possible picture.
