What’s your interior design process?
01 We Start With You
The initial interview aims to understand your wants, desires, lifestyle, and meaningful aspects of your life to design a space that is not only perfect but also personalized.
02 Where The Magic Happens
In the next step of the KKD design process, we will measure your space, create a space plan, and choose materials for renovation and redecoration. KKD will handle all the details, including color palette, custom cabinetry, finishes, and fabric selection, saving clients time and money.
03 The Big Day
The installation process can be especially challenging. But not with Kate and her team who will help set the stage for your final reveal. We have measured every possible angle, height, width and depth, we’re sure that everything is going to fit through your door.
Which interior design styles can you cater for?
We design for all design styles a client may have. However, KKD believes in the blend of both traditional and modern elements to bring life to a space and truly make it timeless. This design approach is what the design industry calls Transitional Design.
Transitional interior design refers to a style that blends elements from traditional and contemporary design aesthetics. It is a harmonious fusion of classic and modern elements, creating a balanced and timeless look. Transitional design seeks to bridge the gap between traditional and contemporary styles, offering a comfortable and inviting atmosphere with a fresh and updated feel.
What do you love most about your job?
I truly live and breath interior design day in and day out. One of my greatest passions is seeing my clients fall in love with their home all over again or for the first time. My goal is to use that authentic passion to deliver timeless redesigns that clients not only love today but also designs that will inspire clients and their families for years to come. Incorporating carefully curated and highly personalized design details in every client project is the cornerstone of my work.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I founded KKD in California after a decades long career in a passionless field. I know what it feels like to hate what you do and I know what it feels like to LOVE what you do. Every space we touch is designed with purpose, passion and is tailored to our clients’ unique aesthetic and lifestyle.
