Today we’d like to introduce you to Eric Rosado.

Eric, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
My background in technology started during my time in the Marine Corps after coming home from deployment in 1998. Those were the early days of the internet and I would to charge other marines $2 to send emails because they were not familiar with the web quite yet. Computers were the size of suitcases and most marines could not afford them. I spent a lot of my spare time in the library on base and started learning how to code. My spare time was spent on research since we would be gone for months at a time.

Years later while working for a search marketing firm, I realized they had no idea for the way search engines really worked and what their purpose was. It seemed they were just good salespeople reselling google but clients weren’t getting results. I knew something had to be done. It was time to go to work.

Karma Snack was a goal that seemed unattainable at the time but I was going for gold. My team and I focused on how Karma Snack was going to be a marketing agency that that understood how to write algorithms and citations that would help clients rank high. We tested over 250 variables and built a program that drove in more than rankings and sales. We figured how to get the business data integrated into the models we wrote. With the amazing results we received with lead generation and e-commerce, we decided to focus on those two needs and left the branding campaigns to the advertising agencies.

Karma Snack had one mission statement, to help companies fulfill their needs. I took a Marine Corps approach to management-we don’t like the 2nd place. This leadership model worked when hiring. Only individuals with a passion for driving results were brought on board and our team worked 15 hours a day 7 days a week focusing on narrowing verticals. We have worked on Fortune 500 clients and consulted the governments on search strategies. Our philosophy is direct and straight the point. Search engine marketing isn’t for everyone and we have plenty of stories I could elaborate on another time.
