My vet recommended Kai's for training Kinnick, my German Shepard. We started with puppy imprinting then freshman classes. Kinnick caught on very fast . Tiffany and staff were awesome! I would highly recommend this for any dog. They're training the dog, but most importantly they are training the owners!! Which I very much needed. More...

Kai’s is EPICALLY amazing!!! There is nothing like it around. I have done fostering for dog rescues for 15 years. I have lived all over the country and I have always reached out to different experts to have a resource when I felt I needed more assistance with a foster dog. I moved to Iowa in 2015 to Cedar Rapids, I called around I meet with 11 trainers and I disliked them all!!! They didn’t listen or their style was . give me the dog and $3600. This is a foster I volunteer my time and money. I then was told about Kai’s and I decided with the results I had found so far why not drive two hours for thirty minutes to talk to this trainer I heard was FANTASTIC!!!! Half hearted thinking I would never find anything in Iowa. It was true love with in 10 minutes. I again have been to many places because everyone has different ways, however while I’m in Iowa I will look no further. The facility is the whole package and an amazing community. I know if it is aggressive dog this facility has my back, if it is abused dog this facility can help me!!!!. It may be a 2 hr drive one way but I can’t not think of a better place to take my animals or my self to continue to grow and help more animals others have turned their back on and given up on!!!!! I can not speak high enough of this facility or the community it is building!!!!! More...

Very intuitive trainers. Helped me understand how my apprehension about my dog possibly behaving poorly actually triggered the bad behavior. I went to Kai's Dog Training Academy today Feb 6,2019. I will update my experience as time progresses with the training. My 8 month old female German Shepherd is well full of attitude and likes to jump and pull while on the leash. Derrick put the prong collar on her and within 10 seconds she was leaning on him and not even thinking about jumping or even pulling. I did research and saw the negative reviews but not all methods work with each dog. You have to go in with an open mind and know that you are working with your dog so you have to put time and effort into training your dog. I wished that I would of started the training at 8 weeks as I want to get my dog to service dog status and maybe more such as showing, barn hunt, etc. I love my dog and know that she needs a lot of mental stimulation as she is very smart. I have been working with these trainers for a year now and cannot imagine working anywhere else with my furry companion. .. I have a high energy, working German Shepard who requires daily mental and physical activity... Working with ADTA has provided me with educational experiences and activities that work best for me and my dog... They are very eclectic with their training and help each handle and dog accomplish goals personally set with each team and the trainers.. My dog and I are working towards competing in shows in multiple disciplines and it has become a true hobby... Other handlers and their furry companions are there to work on negative behaviors and to learn how to work together, keeping in kind the best interest of the dog... I have seen many handlers and dogs come through and I can promise you that every dog and handler team left changed with tools to handle many social dog situations... The trainers are very flexible with all their clients and try to make training available for for those with complicated schedules.. There is not another training facility out there like this one, you have to check it out! More...

I have really appreciated everything the folks at ATDA have done for our family! We have been working with them for about two years since we adopted a dog that was very difficult to handle. After going through obedience training, he is now much more pleasant to walk and just be around in general. We get compliments all of the time regarding how well behaved he is.

In addition to training our dog, ADTA demonstrated they truly care about rescue dogs in general when they trained two dogs from the rescue I worked with free of charge. These dogs were essentially deemed unadoptable because both had been adopted and returned numerous times for serious behavioral issues. The trainers at ADTA offered to work with the dogs and as a result of their efforts, both dogs were able to work through their behavioral issues and are now in wonderful homes.
