We were clients of K9 League several years ago. Our Maddie, who passed away in July, received training for dog aggression. Her receiving this training kept our family together. I will address a few comments made in other postings based on my own experience. Dog abuse: during Maddie’s stay, I received photos and videos of where she was kept, the training facility, and being taken to Home Depot. I never suspected any wrong doing. She came back several pounds heavier and more muscular than she left. The use of a shock collar: On our first visit before they took Maddie, I tested the same shock collar on myself. The level I tested on myself was higher than the level that was actually used on her. It startled me more than hurt me. She was seen by our Vet immediately after receiving her back and the vet gave her a perfect report card for health and behavior. Maddie had very soft hair that matted easily, none of which existed on her when receiving her back. Expensive: yes, it’s “expensive”. It is 100% worth it and we would send our other dogs to be trained with them, again. Training to properly handle aggressive dogs requires resources. For what we paid and what we received, I feel it was more than a fair price. Owner: I had nothing but pleasant conversations with Amber and her team. They always communicated with me and any questions or concerns I had were answered. When returned to us, Maddie had a purpose. She felt like she was working. She loved putting on her training leash and collar. We were finally able to walk her without worrying that there was going to be a situation. A review would not be honest without at least one negative remark. For us, that would be that we never received the follow-up training. It wasn’t a mandatory thing for us because our trainer allowed me to record the commands and body movements that I could reference. He spent over an hour making sure I was comfortable enough to handle the at-home training that is required. There was checking-in and I’m sure that if we had said something wasn’t working, the follow-up would have happened. Please don’t expect for trainers to train your pet and to not have to do the work too. It requires following through and consistency. I have sent many friends and strangers to K9 League and all have had positive experiences. Thank you! *Attached is a picture of Maddie the day after she came home at the Vet’s office. The second is a picture that would not be in existence had we not sent her. More...

I just received my Bubba back from a 4 week stay with Amber and her trainers and am eager to post my review. First, it is night and day difference with my 1 year old lab on the leash and he also seems to recognize his name now which is AWESOME. We have already seen a lot of positive improvements in so many ways. Second, I appreciate that the K9 league crew trains dogs using correction AND positive enforcement. I am able to tell my dog "no" and he now understands what he is doing is wrong. I see this being very advantageous when we are out in public and an unpredictable situation comes up where I need him to immediately stop doing something. Positive reinforcement is great but I want my dog to mind when I say no and was looking for this in a training program. I am highly satisfied with how he responds to "no" without any physical enforcement and this gives me a lot of peace of mind for taking Bubba out and about. Third, my dog is the same lovable, goofy boy he was when I dropped him off with Devonte. I watched his interactions with Devonte and Prince when we would do the hands on training together and could easily see my dog loved those guys (and their treats), enjoyed their companionship, and there was no indication of any abuse whatsoever at any point in time. Lastly, communication wasn't what I expected because I felt like I was separated from my child and wanted lots of updates which I didn't get. However, the trainers are available to meet with you in-person (I am assuming as regular as you want) which eased my concerns a lot, provided me with the updates I wanted, and allowed me to see his progress. Texts were always replied in the same day but not immediately. So, basically I took it that they were busy being hands on with the dogs and not playing on their phones all day which is ideal. Once I learned to trust that everything was ok, this was a non-issue for me. The fact we could meet in person frequently counted for a lot and helped a lot with my own learning with how to continue the work they started with Bubba. So I am giving 5 stars because they earned it and in effort to outweigh the slanderous reviews that made my shopping for a board and train program hard and initially interfered with my trust. I don't know who had my dog before I found him or what they did to him but he was timid and confused when we brought him home. I had no idea how to work with him but he was super sweet and I knew he could be a great dog. Being able to see him so confident and happy makes me feel really good and I know I made a good investment sending him to this training program. It is obvious the k9 leaguers are committed to what they do, are experts at what they do, and take good care of the dogs in their care. Thank you guys so much---Bubba and I look forward to keep working with yall! More...

****Update from a year later: My review after a year. It’s been one year since I took my dog, Robin to K9 League. We suspect she was used as a bait dog so she had conditioned herself to attack other dogs and humans that were not me. She went to a 5 week program under the watch and care of Chris - one of Amber’s main trainers. This was kind of a Hail Mary move on my part because I felt like I was trapped in my apartment with a dog that would auto attack because she had been so abused and I felt like I had no other options. Together with Chris, both Robin and I learned what to do in situations that would trigger and stress her out. It’s taken a lot of work, but a year later she’s a completely different and confident dog…dare I say normal? I was so scared but I gave K9 League a chance. I’m glad I did. I don’t know where I’d be with out Chris and the team. ***Original: My Shepard mix Robin had severe behavioral issues. We suspect she had been a bait dog, so she conditioned herself that humans and other dogs are bad. She had bit my mom and she would charge at other dogs. With Chris and Amber’s help, Robin learned how to be a complete and confident dog. She learned that not all humans are bad and that other dogs can be her friends. 10/10 recommend K9 league. Proud to be part of their training alumni. Robin is happy!!! More...

We took our dog, Ringo, who has had years of fear and aggression problems to K9 League for a six-week intensive. Chris and Amber and team were beyond empathetic, thorough and compassionate. We had occasion to visit twice and were amazed at the cleanliness, cleverness of their setup — but most especially their over-the-top commitment to the care of their charges. Ringo did not finish the program because K9 discovered a clearly pre-existing health problem we hadn't yet found; called us and worked with us to get Ringo treatment. I'd say that K9 treats your dog like their own, but most dog owners I know don't take the kind of care this trainer does. They have big hearts and brains and they're our forever go-to for training. Chris and his team are an absolute dream to work with. Luna went for their 6 week separation anxiety program. She came back SO much more confident and happy. A lot of the training comes down to how well you keep it up when you get home, and our relationship is healthier and happier because of it! They don't do a quick fix treatment that turns your dog into a robot, they take the time to work with you and your dog on specific issues. We go back for boarding all the time and Luna runs up to Chris so happy to be there!! Dee showed me about 500 photos on his phone of luna in a tiny hat smiling so hard! we LOVE K9 League and can't recommend them highly enough!!! More...

I sent my dog for the board and train program with Chris and they did not do anything to teach my dog new training. I had several communications back and forth with the owner and was told I could not touch my dog when I went to visit her because it would undo all the training nor could I see her where she was being kept. I spoke to Amber after getting her back and seeing that she was exhibiting behavior that was as if she was abused (barking aggressively at people, tail tucked in, flinching, skittish) which she did not do before. Amber then informed me that they wanted to take her back for another week of training which I refused because of her new behaviors and she was dirty and matted. I asked Amber for a refund because I had video that the commands they taught her (place, sit, stay, and down) had been taught to her by a previous trainer. This is when I learned a shock collar was used on my 6lb Yorkie. Amber said she could only refund $1,700 due to the cost of the shock collar (which I guess I paid for an never received. This refund was only if I agreed to sign a letter from her lawyer baring me from writing any negative reviews or telling anyone about my experience and releasing them of any claims demands or judgments. I was not given back my dogs items and it took a few weeks for her to mail them back as she included the return of my personal belongings in the letter from her lawyer, which I did not sign. Do not do business with this company. They are dishonest and do not treat dogs well. I regret ever doing business with them. More...

We sent our pup to K9 League and they did an amazing job. I saw so much progress in the first couple of weeks while he was there. They were very responsive to all my questions and are still working with us now. Chris has done a fantastic job following up and has come by to check on our sweet pup after he graduated from the 6 week program. I highly recommend using them. You can tell they really care about your dog and what’s best for them. More...

I am so thankful for K9 League! Two of dogs started fighting with each other suddenly and it got so bad there was no peace in our house. We sent them to 6 weeks of board and train with Chris after exhausting all other options. We were so scared we would have to rehome one of them. They have been home now for two weeks and are doing so well with each other! We have learned what boundaries to set and stick too and with the added structure in place we can confidently have them in our house together. I cannot recommend K9 League enough! They have literally saved our household! More...

My husband’s coworker used them and their dogs are so well behaved! They required us to attend private lessons during the board and train, never owned a dog before so this was beyond helpful! ! Thank you for always answering all my first time pup parent questions lol. I was so nervous to send our baby boy. I was put at ease when we dropped him off for training at her home and we actually met one of the vets she has on staff, she was dropping her puppy off for training too! It’s been 6 months since our training and our Tanner is such a gentleman always getting compliments! We are getting another dog in February and have already reserved her spot for training! We can’t say thank you enough! Mike, Amelia, Tanner and soon part of the family Mae More...

Stevo is highly professional, extremely talented at handling difficult cases, and very patient discussing everything with his clients. I have a very difficult dog that had major fear aggression. For 8 years, I couldn't take him around anyone in public, or invite anyone over. I was essentially a hostage in my own house. He couldn't go to the vet without being muzzled and wrestled. After spending time with Stevo, I can now clip his nails on my own, take him in public, allow others into my house, and even all others to pet him! None of this was possible previously. I cannot tell enough how happy I am I found Stevo when I did. My only other options were to have him put down, or remain in my home alone. Now, we both have our lives back. I will never be able to express how grateful I am for this. More...

My dog Jax was sent to K9 league for aggression, he had recently bit my mom and my fiancé and I was at my last resort on what to do. I contacted Amber at K9 league and she was very nice and understanding, she let me know that they could help and that they have done this many times before. Of course, going into it I was nervous because we had a bad experience before with a dog trainer. Jax was with Amber and Steve for 2 full months! When Jax came home he was a totally different dog! He sat on command, laid down on command, did not go out the door before told to do so. Jax was calm and did not show any signs of anxiety! I took him to my mom's where he was always so anxious and caused him to bite and he was so good! If you are looking for a dog trainer that will help you and get your dog to where they need to be no matter if they are biting THIS is the place to go! They saved Jax's life! I am very thankful for them and all that they did to make our life better. MOST importantly I got to keep my pup and we are all now very happy!!! DO NOT look past them, they are truly THE BEST! >Is your dog a nightmare in the house who refuses to listen to you?

>Is your Dog destroying your furniture and home out of anxiety? >Is your dog’s anxiety and aggression causing you stress, frustration and embarrassment?

Some dogs need more than just obedience training: dogs with aggression, fear, or anxiety issues. While obedience training may get a dog to sit, lay down or do tricks, it takes more to solve behavior problems. Aggression and Anxiety are one of the most difficult problems dog owners experience and also one of the issues that most dog trainers either fail to correct or simply refuse to work with.

That’s where we come in. We have some of the most renowned Dog Aggression & Dog Anxiety Trainers in the Industry, rehabilitating countless dogs time and time again.

Our highly regarded Behavior Modification Program is tailored for those dogs in need of a more involved rehabilitation from aggression, fear, anxiety or any other serious problem.

We go beyond Dog Obedience Training: we focus on the real issue at hand – your dog’s behavior problems. It has been tremendously successful and produce world class results where others have refused or failed.

With this option your dog will stay with Head Behaviorist and Trainer, where they will receive continuous, highly structured training as well as calming nurturing and coaching, while they help your dog overcome their unique fears and challenges, build their confidence and achieve a more calm, happier state of mind. We have rehabilitated countless of dogs with bite histories (human and dog), helped dogs from needing prescription medicines for anxiety, dogs that have been recommended to be put down, and dogs that were deemed “un-trainable” by others. We are firm believers that dogs can be rehabilitated.

Is your dog having some bratty behaviors like: counter surfing, jumping, crate antics, pulling on the leash, chewing, nipping, over-excited energy, and the like? Is your dog great, but is starting to learn some bad habits and want to curb it before it gets out of hand?

Our K9 League Dog Obedience Training 1-on-1 works because we focus on your dog’s state of mind, not just their obedience problems. In other words, we are much more concerned with helping you create a happy, healthy, balanced dog than creating a dog that just simply knows a few obedience commands.
Most issues that you see in your dog are just side effects of the real problem: lack of manners, lack of attention span, or is just simply not getting the structure and rules they need. So we will empower you with not just the know how, but the structure and boundaries to help strengthen you and your dog’s relationship. We will teach you how you can have the loving, devoted dog you were dreaming of!

What are some advantages to 1-on-1 lessons?

You and your dog work and learn together so you can enjoy each other’s company.
Unlike the typical Dog Training Classes (where there are several dogs and very few trainers) you have our undivided attention for the entire lesson, which means that both you and your dog can progress fairly quickly: The more 1-on-1 attention you and your dog are getting, the more you will learn!
Lessons are scheduled so you can plan your time ahead!
You receive complimentary support between lessons if you have any questions or problems!
