K-Nine is awesome! My spouse and I are first-time dog-owners, and didn't really know what we were doing. Justin and Maureen especially have worked with us to feel confident, and to grow together with our lil' fluffball. We've worked on basic obedience and leash training, and the foundation has helped us feel empowered to include the fluffball in all sorts of new activities in our life. Great trainers, have worked with them for three years with my dog. Although my dog is very happy go lucky, I have seen them work with all type of dogs from aggressive, shy, abundance of energy, you name it. I would 100% recommend anyone who has a new dog to go through K9 solutions! I wish we would have taken our dog there first after adopting him. Although not cheap, their programs are well worth the price to have a dog that you can communicate with. The "pack walks" are also a great way for your pup to get used to listening to you while being in a group of other dogs. Our daughter brought her 2 year old lab mix rescue dog with aggressive and lunging behaviors to you guys a few months ago and wow. I cannot speak highly enough of Eric and Justin and the whole team of K-Nine Solutions. I came to them in tears, at my wits end, trying to make life work with my blind, strong-willed, anxious, fear-aggressive and reactive rescue pitbull. Albeit very sweet and loving, we were infinitely frustrated with each other and after 1.5 years together still hadn't found an effective way to communicate. We made huge strides almost immediately once we started working with K-Nine, and by the end of our 10 training sessions, he is truly a different dog! K nine solutions: Eric, Justin, Maureen and Stacy have been put to the challenge with my rescued 4yo dachshund, who came with major issues: fearful of strangers, unable to walk on a leash, attacks other dogs b/c he has been attacked numerous times. ...  while he is not "fixed" completely, the k nine team is dedicated to work with me to help rehabilitate this poor guy, and more importantly teaching ME how to work with him.  Not sure if he is rehabilatable... but they are helping me with all possible options. I can’t say enough good things about Eric & Justin at K-Nine Solutions and there puppy program. We started with the 6 week puppy program with our then 4 month Poodle. I loved the organized schedule Eric had me follow with Harry and the clicker training. Both Eric and Justin explained everything in length and the way puppies learn. Each week in our private training lesson Harry would excel in his learning abilities. I am so thankful to them for helping me get to my goal, which was to have a well mannered, obiedient & Happy pup! Justin, Eric, Maureen and crew are fantastic. They are so knowledgeable. They have taught me so much about myself in how I work with my Xena, a German Shepherd. Xena is amazing. The pack walks are so much fun with always another learning experience to be had. It is great to get out and see Santa Barbara by foot with such a wonderful group this of course includes all our four legged family members. K-Nine is well know for working with dogs with problems. So many success stories! I want to pitch about puppies who do not show a behavioral issue. My Golden Retriever pup needed basic training. I was amazed out how his recall improved after just ONE session! And the Puppy Socials were great for my little boy. He's now seven months old and I will move to Phase 2 of their training. We enrolled our 4 month old poodle in the 6 week puppy program and so far it's been wonderful. Eric, Justin and team have been so helpful in all aspects of the training process with our puppy. We started training with K-9 Solutions when we got our puppy, Honey, at 5 months old. In addition to needing basic training, she also lacked confidence around other dogs and people. She just turned 1 this month and we are very pleased with how she has matured. We learned a lot from Eric and are glad to have had the extra resources such as Pack Walks and Puppy Playtime. Riley was a rescue who had no confidence. He growled at everyone and bit me in certain situations. Instead of attacking the problems Riley had, they created fun ways for us to communicate that created a bond. Now Riley is happy, barely growls at anyone, and wouldn't think of nipping me or anyone else. He romps with dogs at Hendry's Beach and has lots of fun instead of feeling the need to protect himself all the time. I'm very happy. I am a first-time dog owner. Sherlock came into my life a bit unexpectedly.  Within the first week, I realized that both Shelly and I needed some training.  I still remember how flustered and stressed out I was when I went to K-nine for the first time.  After the first consult, I was already thinking "ok, this is not as scary as it seems, we can figure this out". Sherlock and I went through the 8 class basic training with Karina.  I can't say enough good things about her. Karina is  AWESOME!  First of all, I want to say that this was most definitely more of training for ME than for the pup. Sherlock picks up commands very quickly but then has a tendency to "negotiate" with me about how much of the command he really needs to complete. Karina picked up on this fact right away and worked with me to be persistent and patient with my pup.  Karina actually listened to me and gave me useful advice. There were days when she politely underlined that my behavior had to be adjusted just as much as my pup's.  I am very thankful for her criticism and guidance, it really helped me and my pup. Overall I totally recommend Karina!  But I will say 2 things about the training program. First, the training is not cheap, but for me, it was worth it. I did appreciate the fact that Karina was flexible with scheduling and we completed our 8 classes over about 3 months which was the pace that worked for Sherlock and I. Second, I want to underline that this is a training for the owner as well as the dog, be prepared to work with your pup not just during classes but also at home. More...

The team at K-nine Solutions are truly remarkable! Our dog was developing some really bad habits on the leash (barking/growling at other dogs, etc. ) Thank goodness for Justin and his team! They taught us how to deal with our pups bad behavior with firm, consistent training methods, and now we have a really well-behaved, well-trained dog. K-Nine Solutions made it possible for us to keep our rescue dog. If we had not found Eric and Justin, we would certainly have had to relinquish our boxer, and I am sure she would not have been deemed re-homeable by any shelter, due to her aggression towards other dogs.

Eric and the rest of the team are the absolute best. For one, they're all super nice and easy to get along with, and fun as well. Second, they are just absolutely amazing dog trainers. My dog was a little butt head. Aggressive, demanding, and just a menace in general around any other dog that got close to her. We had gone to another trainer before, but we didn't see any progress and didn't continue with her lessons. Basically, any time she was close to another dog she was not the sweet pup that I knew and loved. Eric TOTALLY changed that. Dogs can come up to her, sniff her, and try to play with her, and she's totally reserved and calm. And best of all, we can just walk past other dogs without a reaction. Queue, the greatest test. I'm writing this right now with a strange dog who escaped from his apartment (he unlocked and opened the door by scratching the lock and handle), sleeping right next to me and my dog. Because of Eric, I was able to use his training (for both my dog and I), to get these two strangers acquainted, walking next to each other, and finally sleeping and calm together on the same floor. This is something I never dreamed that would be possible with my pup. Not only getting used to being around other dogs, but the obedience training that we went through was AMAZING in getting her to sit, listen, and react calmly while trying to control the stranger dog and pick up poop, or while the stranger dog tried to chase squirrels and be a butt in general. K-Nine solutions has not only made my dog's life better - she's less stressed, calmer, and happier in general - but mine as well. I'm not tense and stressed on our walks, we can go to fun places and parks with other dogs, I can take her out to restaurants or coffee shops and she's well behaved, and my dog and I are more of a comprehensive unit. Eric and Justin are worth their weight in gold! We have two dogs, and mysteriously after being together for a couple years one of our dogs started getting aggressive with our other dog.  Eric and Justin were extremely knowledgeable and have helped our situation so much.  We expected to get help with the aggression and ended up getting two very well behaved dogs out of it.  More than training the dogs, they helped us become better dog parents and taught us about how dogs think and interact with each other. I can't speak highly enough about my experience at k-nine solutions. I heard about them through a former client, and was SO happy I choose to work with them. After speaking with Kai on the phone, I was 90% positive I was going with them, and choosing to do private puppy lessons for Otis (my super cute labradoodle who is now 16 weeks). Yes, the privates were more $$ and based on my schedule and what I wanted it was the best fit. I have now attended 5 sessions (the first one was at my house). They were able to see my set-up and give feedback. I now love the sessions at there locations because the added distractions there help train Otis even more. Otis loves going too.... He walks nicely normally on his leash and pulls (just a little) to get inside K-nine solutions. All the trainers are great, and I love how they each say hi to me when Otis and I each week. I'm a volunteer at the Santa Barbara County Animal Services. I've had dogs all my life. It never would have occurred to me to get dog training lessons, but I had recently adopted a dog that had been in the shelter for just over a year, and probably because of trust issues we had a hard time with simple training. Sit, stay, come. And no pulling on the leash was a biggie for me, because SHREK is 75 pounds of pure muscle. Exasperated, I stumbled upon K9 Solutions website. I knew within the first 10 minutes of my consultation with them that they were expert in their field. Within 10 minutes of my first training lesson they had a solution to him pulling on the leash. My greatest hope would be that I would be able to have SHREK off leash to run and play with other dogs. But because of his breed, I'd have to be extra careful. Not because he is aggressive, because he is not. But because if another dog started something with him, he is strong enough to shut it down, and then he'd likely get the blame. There is a lot of prejudice regarding his breed. American Bulldog. I decided to purchase a training package. To be honest, it was more than I wanted to invest. My wallet felt it. However, the investment was just that. An investment in a happy, wholesome future for SHREK and me. Just this week, we practiced "come" at Elings park with other dogs and distractions around. I'm so proud to announce that my boy is doing great with coming to me when he is called. Still working on it though. Training will always be ongoing. The thing I got most from K9 Solutions was confidence. It turns out they were training me. I've gained tremendous insight about dogs in general, and terrific training for SHREK.I highly recommend K9 Solutions to everyone with a dog. We love Kninesolutions! We got two havanese puppies and we met with Justin before they arrived to prep us for our puppies. He was great helping set reasonable expectations. We have been meeting with him weekly for the past 6 weeks. Whenever we have problems with our puppies- mainly occasional accidents in house - it is because we weren't following Justin's recommendations. I can't imagine having a dog without doing this training. Our dogs are just 13weeks and already know their names and respond to "come", "sit" and "down". We've met other members of the Kninesolutions team and they are all great. We plan to keep training for at least a year. More...

We were so lucky to have been recommended to K-Nine Solutions for our 2 year old german shepherd. We were struggling with him obeying and staying in commands, as well as some serious leash pulling and inability to keep him controlled during walks. Eric, Justin, and Kai were all fantastic to work with and have completely changed life with our dog. Through their careful and attentive instruction, our walks are now painless and completely enjoyable. Our dog is now an awesome running buddy for me and we are able to take him nearly everywhere with us, confident that he will stay in a command and listen to our instructions.
