We had a great experience working with Philip of JZ Studio Photography for our wedding photography. We couldn’t be happier. This company is very professional and easy to work with. They personalized a package for me to make sure I got what I wanted at a price I could afford. I really felt like my desires and needs were listened to and not dismissed. Philip stayed in touch from the moment we signed the contract through the delivery of the photos after the wedding, always keeping me informed about what was happening on his end as well as making sure he had all of the information he needed from me. I contacted Phillip through Bark, and he responded promptly to my request for a 1 hour photo session for my son's 1st Birthday. I wanted to enjoy my son's Birthday, without the pressure of posing and taking pictures, and that is exactly what I did! Zack was the photographer the day of the party. He was kind, and professional. His presence was unassuming, so we were able to get some great candid shots to mark the day. The pictures were sent to us in a google drive file, and I received both raw and edited photos, that were mine to keep. I was unhappy with the way I looked in a few of the photos, so Phillip agreed to edit a few of the photos, without any additional charges. What do you love most about your job?
What I love the most about photography is being able to capture a significant moment, then reliving that moment when you view the image. I specialize in taking portraits and candids. I take pictures at various events from baptisms to weddings. At the end, my hope is that my clients’ expectations are exceeded and that they would be able to carry that moment on forever.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Back in 1992 when I was in the 12th grade, my family and I moved to a whole new city. As I was adjusting to my new home, I met my neighbor, Paul, who was a professional photographer. Inspired by his work, I asked him if I could borrow his camera one day and explore it. I spent the
few hours I had with it taking pictures of nature and my family. This was the day where my love for photography all began. It wasn’t until 10 years later when I finally decided to purchase a camera of my own after my daughter was born. Capturing precious moments of her and my family
fueled my drive for photography. Throughout the years, I learned more and more about the art. It wasn’t until 2012 when JZ studio was born. It stands for “Jacob and Zack” because my son and I work together as a team. A simple hobby turned into something much more prominent!
