If I could give her zero stars, I would. Julia is very impressive for your first or second meeting, she talks a big talk and makes you think she is going to take good care of you. She has a really cute office in downtown Lee Summit. But it’s all a façade. She has college intern do your taxes, last year they called me with simple questions and it was so obvious they had no idea what they were doing ……they’ve probably never even filed their own tax return. I also referred her to a family member and last year she forgot to pay his quarterly taxes and his employee payroll last quarter. She’s trying to grow herself too big, make a lot of money and have interns do her job, and the service is suffering greatly for it. This year I have, of course, switched to a different CPA and I had to pay Julia $35 to have them email my last year’s tax return or I could go in for a copy for $50. (she omitted to put a copy of my last year’s tax return in my packet of information that was returned to me, then, when I tried to go on my online portal, it had been canceled because I had already told her I wasn’t using her this year) Her tax services cost twice as much as other very competent CPA’s around town. I normally don’t give bad reviews, but this time I had to… I don’t want other people to suffer what I have the past two years, Don’t waste your time or money. More...

Julia might be a competent CPA for big businesses; however, any small business owner in the KC area should avoid this office at all costs.
If you pay Julia to handle your small business's taxes then you can expect: unresponsiveness, miscommunication, pettiness, and bold unprofessionalism. If you attempt to clarify miscommunication, extra fees, or contradictions from her office then you can expect to be: insulted, contradicted, hung up on, and immediately re-hung up on after her office calls you back. Only to later be characterized as a bully.

My father-in-law’s personal taxes were audited due to Julia's own mistake. He had to pay significantly more in taxes many months after originally filing. The following year, my personal taxes were audited, again because of Julia’s own mistake. Seems I owed the IRS a lot more money, too. Owing is always a hard pill to swallow, but finding out you owe more money after you thought you paid everything you owed, AND as a new tax year approached, is beyond regrettable. Needless to say, Julia Hampton CPA no longer handles our taxes. Thankfully for her current clients, it seems her staff is more capable. Julia, Theresa, Danielle and their entire crew have made an incredible difference in our business! I am very pleased with the refunds Julia and her staff were able to fined, and how quickly things were able to progress. For what I had considered a fairly complicated return since it involved two employers, multiple states, investments, and multiple health insurance scenarios throughout the year.I had dropped my information off midweek and on that Saturday I received a call from Julia informing me that the return was complete and ready to be signed.
