What kind of accounting services do you provide?
Prepare financial statements, reconcile general ledger, payroll compliance and administration, brokerage, bank and credit card account reconciliations, full service boutique business management services, accounts payable, accounts receivable, multi-state sales tax compliance and tax return preparation, commercial rent tax returns,Sarbanes-Oxley compliance, 1099 preparation and filings, loan applications, liaison with your tax accountant, banker, insurance agent and any Ad-hoc projects.
Why is it so important for businesses to hire a great accountant?
Every business owners needs guidance to navigate the future. Too often businesses fail because the owner(s) try to keep cost low by not having an accountant guide them through the unknown. Sometimes as accountant's we can help clients identify opportunities and weaknesses not considered. Additionally, we help businesses stay compliant with the IRS and/or state(s). This is where I see a lot of business get themselves into a unsavory situations because they were not properly guided and likely did not seek the help needed.
What do you love most about your job?
Rolling up our sleeves and resolving the situation! I often joke accounting is like Pandora's Box; it's seemingly never-ending and you never know what you're going to discover. It's most rewarding when a client is happy to have you help them get to the root of the problem and provide a solution. My interest in accounting began in high school and it peaked my curiosity about the financial inter-workings of a business.
What inspired you to start your own business?
It has always been a dream to start our own business and for years we talked about doing it. It was time to stop talking about it and bring our dreams to fruition. Owning our own business will allow us to the work we enjoy doing, on our own terms. Additionally, over the years we observed more efficacy on the tax side of the business and not enough to the accounting. We want to assist clients in focusing on the accounting side which makes things less cumbersome for the tax preparation process.
