It is so great to meet a photographer with whom you have a good rapport. Joy was personable and incredibly professional. She came to our house before the photo shoot to make sure that we could discuss everything we wanted to get out of the session. She helped us with outfit ideas and location ideas and took a lot of time out of her busy day to make sure that we would have a good game plan the day of the shoot.Then came the day of the shoot. Joyce spent more time than she had to to make sure that we got every combination of family photos. She was great with the kids and was incredibly patient in dealing with my 12 family members running around. Then we received our photos and we were blown away by the quality. Great shots great composition. We love them and they are now family favorites. her prices were more than reasonable and that is without considering all of the personal attention that she gave us. Joy is a talented photographer who is pleasant to work with. We absolutely love the photos she took during an hour long maternity/family photo session. Always hesitant to get professional photos done, Joy has turned my entire view around. Having a 3 and 4 year old, getting pictures of both kids smiling and sitting still, is nearly impossible! She was able to capture such a genuine happiness in them that shines through SO vibrantly in each photo. They laughed and and ran care free, as she snapped away. No tears, no tantrums. We got to be ourselves and let each personality get captured. So down to earth, Joy helped us feel more comfortable than I anticipated. Joy photographed my daughter for her senior pictures and it was an amazing experience! We talked to Joy about capturing my daughter's spirit and making the photos unique. We wanted something a bit different then what we typically see for senior portraits. The end result was stunning and went beyond our expectations! Our family/lifestyle shoot with Joy, was pure joy! I have two quirky little boys who can be tough to wrangle but Joy managed to make this experience a really special one for them and for us as parents. I had resisted the idea of a photo shoot for years because I didn’t care for the artificial, posed settings in a studio. I knew I had found something different as soon as I saw pictures of a friend and her family that Joy had taken. They were joyous and infused with warmth and natural light! I have two shoots with Joy under my belt now and I have to say it’s been a real pleasure! She is so warm and low key, but a consummate professional from the very first interaction. We worked with Joy for a mini session and couldn't be happier with our photos and the experience overall. We're so lucky to have such a great photographer in the area! Joy was professional and communicative from our very first contact and was flexible with us when my daughter was unexpectedly sick before our scheduled session. She picked a great location for the photos and gave us helpful direction for posing without making us feel overly posed or unnatural. I liked that she had some suggested poses and settings but also accommodated a couple of our requests.She turned around the edited photos incredibly quickly and they're perfect. She did a great job capturing our family in them and we can't stop looking at the pictures!I also appreciate that she uses some professional tools that made it easy for us to work with her - it was easy to read and sign the contract, arrange payment, and later downloading our photos was also quick and simple.
