My husband, Andrew, and I asked Josh to capture our “elopement“ (with guests involved), and he joyously took the job! He went above and beyond to take the best photos he possibly could. He caught Andrew’s sweet side looks at his future bride, the happy faces waiting in the courtroom before the one minute ceremony. He captured the five minutes of our courthouse marriage joy. Plus, he was so sweet and encouraging while doing so! I have experienced a lot of photographers as a bridesmaid and I have not met a more encouraging, kind, and gifted photographer. The couple session that followed was beyond fun. Keep in mind, we wanted to go on an adventure to get the coolest photos. Josh did not hold back! Josh made our event memorable. He went above and beyond making sure to capture every moment. I remember him jumping on the chairlift ahead of us, then saw him running up the hill in-front of us to get the perfect shot. He spent time with everyone, and made sure to catch candid shots. Wow! If I could give more than 5 stars I would! My family did a family adventure shoot with Josh this November, and I could not be more impressed with Josh! We were all kid of dreading taking these family photos but it was actually pretty fun! We hiked around on the dunes, skipped rocks, laughed and even threw some snowballs. Josh made us all feel comfortable and kept it casual and fun. He is a genuine and fun person with a great eye behind the camera. It only took 2 weeks to get our final edited shot and we are so thrilled with the final product. He has a talent of getting shots that you look natural and AMAZING. It is so cool to work with someone when they have a passion for their work, and the passion Josh has with photography and shared with my family is truly a gift. I have nothing but good things to say about Josh. I have never met anyone more responsive to phone calls, emails and texts. We wanted some post wedding photos in the winter time and I was looking for someone who might want a little adventure. This guy nailed it! We had so much fun going out, exploring sleeping bear dunes with Josh. 2 hours later I didn't even notice we hiked 4 miles until Josh mentioned it, we were just having such a great time. Besides that, the most important part, the pictures are Ah-mazing! OMG! He got them back to us the next day! I assume part of that was because we did this photo session in December and he wasn't flooded with other weddings like in peak summer season but still, he is efficient, he's energetic, he's friendly and he makes great work. I recently traveled to Mt. Rainier National Park for my wedding. Josh was our immediate choice for our photographer due to his unique style and his adventurous nature! We couldn't have made a better choice. Josh hiked with all of his gear, and ours. He ran up the mountain, back down, and up again just to capture the perfect shot. He not only captured us but the views in a way that people who see the pictures can't believe. I can not say enough about how amazing he made the entire experience. I didn't have to ask for any photos because he already took them. To top it all off, he had teaser photos for me faster than I could blink and all of my photos done in record time. Wedding photos are the only way to time travel back to your wedding day and looking at the photos that Josh took of us brings back the most wonderful emotions for me. Working with Josh was such an amazing experience. It was very random how we found him for our family shoot and it was an absolutely perfect experience. We surprised my mom for her birthday with a family vacation and photo shoot up north. Immediately we knew we were in good hands when he went out of his way to corral my nieces, keeping them engaged and smiling the whole time! No words can describe how incredible Josh Hartman is at what he does. This past August, Josh flew out to Mt. Rainier National Park for our wedding and went above and beyond what any other photographer would do. He was running up the mountain, down the mountain, climbing boulders and capturing more moments than I could have imagined. The pictures he took have completely blown me away to where I can't even believe they are OUR wedding. They look like they belong in a magazine and everyone who looks at them tells me the same thing. I can not choose a single picture as my favorite because I love absolutely EVERY photo. Beyond just the pictures, he is the kindest, most easy going person and was willing to take any picture I threw at him in a moments notice. He even got in 40 degree water just for the perfect shot! Super shocked, but super geeked to be the first person reviewing Josh! My husband and I got married in May 2018, and after coming across Josh’s amazing work on Facebook there was literally no question who we wanted photographing our big day. Josh has an eye for natural settings, natural elements, and the true raw beauty of love you can see in the subjects of his photos. Andy and I preferred candid shots, where we were just being ourselves, little looks and silly faces to capture our relationship, and Josh got it all. Even some moments that were quick he was able to catch. Prior to our date, he set up some skype dates with us to get to know our style, our personalities, and, of course, if we had any preferences or specific shots we wanted. We made a list of a few, but we mostly wanted it to be real and true to life. I had a few questions in the weeks leading up, and Josh’s prompt and thorough responses helped me feel like he had it covered. And boy did he ever. My friends and family were in awe at how much coverage he had at the wedding, and he had quite the task in editing the thousands of photos he took. He was literally everywhere that day.

I’m not sure how to put into words how amazing our experience with Josh was. We were so blessed to have our engagement photos done with Josh at the sleeping bear dunes! Our sunrise session felt like a sunrise hike with a new friend. Josh gave us a timeless gift.... family photos that will last a lifetime! I've worked with many photographers and can absolutely say Josh is one of the best. Here's just a few reasons why. 1. He is patient and generous with his time. In previous family sessions with my little boys (2 and 4), I was always anxious that the photographer would be frustrated with crazy behavior or rush us through the session. If you are looking for a photographer that gets all the shots, listens attentively to your requests, and even checks in with you during your day to make sure he captures your full list of shots, Josh is definitely your guy. We talked to Josh via Skype and met before hand to make sure he understood our vision. Truthfully, we picked Josh because his photos are epic, and we liked the natural, casual feel where we weren't posing, just being ourselves. Those are the moments we mostly wanted captured. Some of our favorite shots of the day weren't the ones we necessarily asked for, but the moments he saw unfolding and snagged.

I was very pleasantly surprised when I saw Josh had not one but two cameras rigged up on this awesome suspender thing. He looked like a gunslinger! He has an amazingly positive and upbeat personality. Even our parents said he was incredibly fun to be around. They couldn't believe how much he captured from our day. It was like there were four of him.

The turn around time between our wedding day and when we received edited photos was only about two weeks, which was incredible.

My heart skipped a beat when I saw my husband standing at the end of the aisle on our wedding day and my heart skipped a beat all over again when I saw the photograph of him standing at the end of the aisle. Josh was our wedding photographer and he was so worth it! We had such a great time working with him. The photographs bring the feeling of the day back to life for us and will continue to each time we flip through our treasured album. Josh did a fantastic job capturing my husband and I. We wanted photos cross country skiing as well as hiking around one of our favorite spots in TC.
