As a builder I have been fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Johnson, Craven, and Gibson on various projects over the last 15 years. Their work is highly creative and in particular, they have an excellent eye for proportion and detail.

Their drawings are consistently well developed and, in conjunction with their defined scope of work outlined in their typical Project Manuals, all of their work is in format that is clear and concise. This can make a very big difference in the success of the job from both a financial and time-frame perspective for their clients.

Anne Mark and Duncan Morton of JCG represent their clients well. Both are involved actively in their projects and are on-site to make assessments and answer questions for the builder promptly when they arise. Both are always happy to listen to the “builder’s perspective’” on performing the work which I strongly believe is an advantage to any project.

In addition to their creative talents, both are fun to work with-something I’m not always able to say about other firms. Any potential client looking for an architect with any of the above qualities would be well served by JC&G.

I have had the pleasure to work with Johnson, Craven and Gibson for more than 20 years. They have always maintained the highest professionalism and creativity for each project. Whenever a problem would arise, JC&G would explain the problem and provide options to work around it. They have always been prepared, timely, willing to listen and focused on my needs. It is very comforting to know JC&G is taking care of a project, I don't have to worry and can focus on other tasks.

During this project JC&G was challenged with renovating 172 guest rooms and conference rooms. This project was loaded with challenges; had to keep a percentage of rooms available at all time, unknown conditions popped up, supplier problems, labor shortage, and design changes all complicated the job. In the end the project was on time and under budget.

I have worked on three projects with this architectural firm. Once in 2006, - a large general renovation & restoration of a 1940's house. New Kitchen, new Bathroom, new electric, & some reconfiguration of rooms. The second project, in 2011, was on a slightly smaller project in the $100,000 range for a Bathroom Spa with steam, fireplace and a guest suite area. The third project in 2013, in the $20-49,000 price range dealt with an outdoor patio "room" , and exterior architectural renovations. On all projects, this firm was really excellent in its communication with me, attention to detail, timeliness in producing drawings, clear billing procedures and knowledge of architectural appropriateness to the existing building. They were also able to handle the "unexpected" and "unforeseen" situations ( which most always appear in a restoration of an old home) with ease and often very imaginative solutions. I can't recommend them highly enough. More...
