Great service and willing to be flexible My brother arrived from out of town will a goal to cook for my father some of his favorite BBQ and smoked meats to fill his freezer. My responsibility was to purchase the meats and prepare approximate sides that could be eaten while he grilled for 48 hours. The one item I do not cook is oxtails I needed enough for 5 meat eaters and Joes caribe's was able to provide! They were ready when promised and loved by all.I also had plantain. Perfection Thanks More...

It still amazes me the way a simple question was handle. Debated all weekend if or if not to go , order a cake for this month (almond) gave the deposit and the hat not. I bought one of the displays to share with my husband so he can have an idea what our daughters first birthday cake would taste like and we were honestly both completely disappointed. We up their talked to karelys the person who makes the cakes she was like it’s just cause those are on display and I was probably rushing or what not but I can give you the money is fine I was like okay that’s fine yea . Then she comes back with who I am guessing is joe and he is all like what the problem I’m like confused like they didn’t obviously communicate he said we don’t do refunds super rudely the problem is not what he said just how he said it he sure does need to work on people skills to be honest we will never be returning. They can keep the $40 deposit More...

As a fellow puertorican and my question might be biased but their food is amazing. It makes me feel like I'm back home. Customer service is amazing and the prices are pretty fair as well. To anybody who plans to taste good hispanic food and specially if you're trying to try some puertorican food then this is your place. It's probably the closest you'll get to Puerto Rico. More...

I was so excited to try a Cuban sandwich and some oxtail, only to be completely disappointed with the taste. It taste nothing like the Cuban sandwich and oxtail I’ve had. No authentic taste whatsoever. Even disappointed that my husband and son had to taste that too. Even still, the prize of the meals are astronomical compared to what it tastes like. I don’t know what I’m paying for with a $12 Cuban sandwich that tastes nothing like a Cuban sandwich. The only positive was our service. Great service by the waitress. The rest beyond disappointing and sub par for the price!! More...

Updated review: We went back a second time and had a completely different experience. Service was slow and the food was not good. The plantain chips and delicious house-made dip served to us on our first visit was not offered, so I asked for it. The chips were stale and the dip was plain old salsa. I ordered the pernil again, but this time it was SO dry that I couldn't eat it. I can't believe it was served like that. Neither the pork or the yellow rice had much flavor. We had the empanadas again. They were okay...not as crispy and fresh tasting as before. If this had been my first experience, we would have not gone back. The inconsistency is very disappointing! We came here before heading back home to St. Louis, MO and probably one of the best food places we stopped at while down here! And...we had a lot of good food. There's a to go/pastry side and to the left is the restaurant. All the staff were excellent and we were checked on often. Everything was served so fresh and hot and quickly. The food was outstanding! We both ordered an empanada for an appetizer. Hubs got the chicken and I got the Pastelon (beef and plantain) Both were super flavorful but that Pastelon one stole our hearts! My husband said he would have just ordered empanadas if he would have known how dynamite the flavors were! For lunch he ordered the Cuban with fries and I got the pernil lunch special. They were out of the pernil but offered other options. I went with the pork chunks. I am so glad! These must have been marinated overnight or something because you could taste the flavor all the way to the center! The rice was perfectly cooked with wonderful flavors mixed in (capers too!). Plantains on the side we're perfectly cooked as well. Desserts there were the guava and cheese pastry and then the pillowy guava square. Sorry I can't remember the names but those were really fresh and truly spectacular! Big fans of guava pastries and we just don't have them where we are. We took some cheese and cheese/guava quesitios, another pillowy guava pastry, and a Nutella quesitios to take home with us. Seriously, must make this a go to eating place if you are in the area! Really close to the airport too! More...

So lately I've been wanting Cuban food, that I myself didn't have to cook. We tried this place out a few weeks ago, when they had ropa vieja as a special. I was able to order online and I loved it, so we decided to order lunch today. I first went to their web page and didn't see the ropa vieja, so I decided to call and see if they had it. I asked the gentleman who answered the phone if they had it today, he said yes. I asked if I could put in a call in order, he said yes what did I want. I told him I wanted 2 ropa vieja dinner plates with the yellow rice and red beans. Just like I ordered the first time through their website via menufy. He said no beans came with the meal if I asked for the yellow rice. I said okay could I add beans to the rice, he said yes. I told him I wanted to add a side of tostones, the green ones not the sweet ones. He said it would be ready in 20 to 25 mins. Which was fine. My kid's ended up wanting something as well, after I hung up so I jumped on their website and ordered 2 cuban sandwiches with yuca fries and a tostones tripleta. Picked up a piece of flan on our way out. The Good, The slightly good and bad, The Bad, The ugly. The Good: My kid's loved the cuban sandwiches. 7/10The flan was really yummy. 9/10The slightly good&Bad: The toppings on the tostones tripleta was full of flavor. The tostones themselves, no thank you. I grew up eating tostones. Like every weekend. These were brownish grey, felt like rubber and tasted between a packet of chicken flavoring and yellow seasoning. 2/10The Bad: I just wanted some red beans added to our meals, like the first time I ordered, instead he added two giant, expensive tubs of it! The Ugly: I was excited that at least I was gonna get to eat my tasty ropa vieja. Yeah nope, not only is it not even close to the same thing I ate there before, it is heavily seasoned in what taste like cumin powder and chicken seasoning. 1/10 *if my ropa vieja tasted like this the first time, I'd never had gone back there. My call in order was around $50.00 for the 2 meals and flan and the giant containers of red bean, that I didn't ask for. And my kid's online order was around $34.00. I will say miscommunication is a serious issue here. It was the only real issue my first time. But this time miscommunication, being charged for items not asked for and the taste of "most" of food ruined this place for me. 2/5 stars. I recommend their dessert. Definitely! We've had the guava pastries the first time as well the flan and they were perfection. 10/10 Anything else is a hard pass for me, now. First time over experience: 4 stars.Last experience: 1 star. *Food is not a one size fits all, while I didn't enjoy the taste of my food today, someone else might have loved theirs. More...

I had lunch on Sat. I ordered pork chop, they had flavor popping hot which was good, but a little too salty, I was not able to get the small plate as they only sell the big portions on wknd disappointing. The tostones had no flavor, nor did it come with the mojo sauce. Overall I recommend, I just enjoy the mofongo. The rice & pigeon peas need to be tweaked a little for good flavor. I like to see a much friendly greeting when walking in door, I think its owner walks around and very nice. I worked at restaurant and the customer serve wariness or ethics just not there. More...

Empanadas are just like my mom used to make them! The cheese Empanada had a lot of cheese so if you are lactose intolerant please do not buy them! They are very good but cheesy! Chicken empanadas are the best of all of them! The steak one is very greasy but I like greasy food so it was very good! It's a nice place and the vibe is just Caribean! Very happy and people having a good time. Just one thing, they enforce mask-wearing but the cashier was wearing the mask only covering her chin. More...

TERRIBLE customer service!! I would give them no stars if possible! I will NEVER COME BACK HERE! I ordered and paid before everyone in the store and went to sit outside due to COVID and the store being crowded and Im pregnant. After 15 mins I came in to check if my order was ready and was ignored for another 15 mins along with several other guests. They ran out of yellow rice and the manager with the glasses started to handle orders in the order they were taken . I told him that I ordered before everyone that was in the store and asked if my order was ready, he flipped through the receipts and told me no I had a person ahead of me . I kindly Asked for my money back because I had already been waiting 40+ mins for something so simple. after going through the orders already sitting out , he said my order was already ready and was sitting out on the counter. I refused to take the food that was sitting out for almost 30+ mins because I'm pregnant, and continued to ask for my money back. The same Manager with the glasses, caught an attitude with me and grabbed several $20's out of the register and started handing them out to myself and several other people with an attitude saying "here here just take your money". this all happened because they had poor time management and do not know how to properly run a restaurant business! I will never return to this establishment again because the service was terrible from the beginning of my order to the end. More...
