We hired Joel Nelson Productions for our son's bar mitzvah last weekend. Joel and Joseph were super easy to work with and helpful in planning our event. MC Julio (DJ Lo), DJ Luis, and the two dance motivators, were fantastic. The kids and adults were 100% engaged and I have received nothing but overwhelmingly positive feedback from all of our guests. Julio and Luis were professional, flexible, and engaging. Everyone danced, from our 4 year old cousins to the 84 year old grandparents and the almost 70 pre-teens and teenagers. My son said, "I knew the party was going to be great, but it was better than I imagined." Thank you to an amazing team for making our son's bar mitzvah celebration a success! I was in one of my more unique roles for a big private celebration as "President Ronald Reagan" and his combo performed the Presidential March, "Hail To The Chief" for a grand entrance!

I contacted Joel on a referral from someone else. I was planning my daughters sweet 16 B-Day party. In the planning she had mentioned she thought a photo booth would be awesome. As a surprise I made a reservation with Joel. His employee showed up half an hour early set it all up & explained to me how to operate it, which was just a push of a button. When my daughter saw it she was so excited. Joel Nelson Productions was AWESOME!Hired JNP for my son's Bar Mitzvah - not having planned a Bar MItzvah party before, I was a little apprehensive. .. wanted a great outcome - here's the thing: JNP delivered IN SPADES!Our MC was "Robbie" (who is also in a band and a dancer) - he did a spectacular job of sensing the crowd and in conjunction with his DJ got and kept nearly everyone moving the entire evening...the team had great games for all of the kids/ teens, was well versed in customary Jewish dances (i.e. chair dance for the Bar Mitzvah and his immediate family), and Robbie started/ led the best conga line I might have ever seen...nearly all guests were in the line which snaked throughout the venue and even ventured outside to the street and back.And, near the 11th hour, we decided to add one of JNP's photo booths to the festivities - while our first choice wasn't available, Joel was able to get us the green screen version which was a huge hit - and his photo booth host was great - she kept the kids entertained and snapped tons of photos.In short, all I can say is HIRE JOEL NELSON... you will not be disappointed. Joel and his staff were great to work with, efficient, handled all details expertly, and while not the cheapest, definitely not the most expensive... in this case, you definitely get what you pay for!Very easy to understand why JNP has been in successful business for decades... Everyone had a fantastic time at my daughter's bat mitzvah! DJ LO (Julio) did an amazing job of getting everyone up and dancing for the entire party! He did a masterful and thoughtful  job of organizing all the different musical styles requested and making them blend together in a way that made sense and gave everyone a chance to hear what they wanted to hear - The lighting, sound system and overall flow of the games and music were all perfect... My daughter and her friends of all ages enjoyed hearing their special requests and loved playing games and winning prizes! Even the adults were up and out of their seats joining in the fun all night long! Planning was also so easy... Joel Nelson and Joseph were reponsive and easy to work with throughout the planning process I always felt they were ready to go and didn't have to worrry about any detail being missed. He mixed out of things quickly if they weren't getting the response he wanted but did it seamlessly. He played the songs we wanted played and he stayed away from things we didn't want. I highly recommend using Joel Nelson Productions. DJ LO is AMAZING and exceeded all our expectations. I found the company very easy to work with - Joel was very responsive and flexible when working with me.  Joseph, their entertainment director was a pleasure working with you - he was timely, professional and on top of everything - it was reassuring to work with him - as I trusted that everything will happen according to plan. DJ Lo  was outstanding! He delivered the Bat Mitzvah party of our dreams - without him it would not have been the same.  He was communicative before, had a solid plan for the evening and came earlier than we planned in order to set up.  He was very professional in the way he communicated to us, understood that the focus of our party was our daughter, made sure to communicate with her, and was collaborative with the rest of the vendors we hired to do the party (such as the caterer). DJ lo was completely in tune with the audience - he got the kids engaged in games when needed, led the hora dance by explaining to everyone how to do it (without sounding like a dance instructor), and got everyone in the party up on their feet by playing exactly the right song at the right time - he was FANTASTIC! This review is primarily for DJ LO (Julio) and Joseph. I'm not even sure where to start. From our first phone call to our final farewell Julio was nothing but a pleasure to work with. He listened to our every need and didn't miss a single detail. He helped us put together our songs, timeline for the wedding, help made sure everything went as planned; and then he delivered. He is a fantastic DJ and MC. He brought awesome energy and spirit to our wedding, he got everyone on the dance floor. My wife and I are really grateful we chose him to make our special day come true. Amazing and fun!  Joel Nelson Productions recently DJ'd a party at our school for 250 guests and everyone had a fantastic time. The music was perfect, everyone was on their feet dancing.  They also provided gobo lights to add ambiance to an otherwise very boring room, setting the decor with a festive feel. We hired Joel Nelson Productions for a corporate holiday party event for 120 people. I am skeptical about DJ's in general based on my past experience.  We did not pick the specific DJ assigned and a couple of months before the event, they needed to change our DJ.  That was okay with me and Joe Sheldon became our assigned DJ.  He was great.  He showed up early, was professional and cheerfully stayed without hesitation when we extended our event by an hour. What I really appreciated was his laid back demeanor while at the same time injecting low-key fun into our event without being intrusive.  During our raffle which is part of the entertainment, his sound effects were on point and very funny. Many thanks to Joel and Joseph for their help. I booked DJ Low as our interactive DJ and Nito as our caricature artist.DJ Low was great. His music selection was perfect for our Christmas luncheon. You would think he pre recorded everything on to a track - smooth transitions from song to song, great flow. He has a great sense of which songs to mix together. He was awesome with the children. We had  boys and they loved him. Great voice for MCing. All around He is a great guy. He knows how to feel out his audience . He is a pro.Nito was fabulous! He won everyone over with his caricatures. We had our daughter's Bat Mitzvah at the Rosewood Sand Hill in early July 2016 and chose Joel Nelson for our DJ/entertainment. If you are looking for a perfect evening for kids and adults alike, I highly HIGHLY recommend Joel and his team. If you want a real party that covers all kinds of music, then hire Joel and his team. We used Manhattan Towers and they were simply the best for our wedding in July 2015. Our one request was to have a party and get everyone up to the dance floor after dinner, and that was accomplished! Joel was willing to work with us as we planned a long distance wedding and met with us over the phone to talk about our needs and timelines. Remember he has done this about 5000 times so he knows better than anyone how to get people moving. I have used Joel Nelson Productions multiple times for large events because they are truly the best entertainment production service in the Bay Area. I am a very particular customer (not always easy to deal with), and Joel and his crew have come through EVERY SINGLE TIME. They recently entertained at my son's 8th grade promotion dance, and the school said it was the best dance that they have witnessed ever.  In fact, another son of mine is having his Bar Mitzvah next year, and I have already booked the entertainment with Joel. My daughter just had her Bat Mitzvah at Cinnabar Hills golf club in San Jose and although it was raining horribly in the beginning Joel and his DJ got their on time and created an amazing atmosphere of games,music and entertainment! My wife and I had our wedding in July at The Kaiser Roof Garden and they used Joel Nelson as their music and entertainment.  Joseph setup everything for us  and he paired us with DJ Roy and he was great!   We had several phone conversations prior to our wedding with Joseph and DJ Roy.  Several weeks before the wedding we sent in a song list with our Introduction song, first dance, last dance and request from our guest.  He also asked for our timeline to familiarize himself with the sequence of events .  DJ Roy played the majority of our music mixed with some of his beats.  He kept our guest dancing all night.There was only one little tiny hiccup, somehow the wire lines were switched and the microphone wasn't working for our introduction.   For us that was not a big deal, our guest knew who we were and our music was playing when we walked out, so we were fine.  It was quickly worked out and the mics were working for the remainder of the night!  We would definitely recommend Joel Nelson and DJ Roy, they were AWESOME!!! Joel and his team did a great job on a on a Bat Mitzvah party for my twin girls.   It was not a trivial undertaking since my girls wanted a big fun party, but they also didn't want the music too loud and they were a bit shy about dancing.   Joel sent a DJ, emcee, and a photographer and they really made it work.   Their sound and lighting brought the room to life.   They really listened to our request on music wholesome for 13-year olds, but also up-to-date and lively.   The emcee moved the activities along nicely, and was flexible with last minute changes.  We had dancing and games which were perfect for the kids and adults, lots of activity, and a balance for dancing and talking.    The parents enjoyed to opportunities to dance with each other and the kids. Hi there. My wife and I were married in May 2014 in Sacramento and worked with Frank Goldstein and the Manhattan Towers for all our musical needs.  To say that we recommend Frank would be an extraordinary understatement -- Frank was by far the most professional, warmest, most accommodating and kindest of any of our wedding vendors. His work and effort really brought our wedding together. We wanted a wedding that mixed traditional Jewish music with fun wedding music and of course were on a budget.  In Northern California, there weren't a lot of choices for us in terms of musicians that can manage the music for a Tish, a Jewish processional/recessional,  a jazzy cocktail hour, several Horas, and then some fun party music.  Not only did Frank knock each of these out of the park, he did so while working within our budget -- reusing musicians when he could, filling gaps with DJ music, and doing his best to meet us where we wanted to be in terms of spend.  It's never cheap to get live musicians, but Frank brings such great value and experience that every penny was worth it.  Anyone planning a wedding knows that it's a stressful process to say the least.  Everyone has an opinion, and (if you're lucky) you haven't done this before so you don't know what the hell is going on. You rely on vendors to guide you, but vendors also are out for themselves and are often trying to work every dollar out of your pocket.  We all are adults and go into the process understanding this is the case. Hopefully when you plan your wedding, you run into someone like Frank Goldstein -- someone who advocates on your behalf, someone who you trust and admire, someone so professional, you can't help but listen to them. Someone who never says 'No' to you -- unless 'No' is really the right answer and that's what you need to hear. Joel and his band performed for our wedding Ceremony and Reception at Casa Real in July 2014. When we met with Joel we knew he was the perfect mix of fun and classy. We wanted our band to play a mix of recent music and classics so everyone at our wedding would have fun! Joel helped us plan the timeline for our reception and made great suggestions to help keep everyone dancing all night. We used Joel to do the lighting for our wedding. We had bistro lighting strung above the dining area and then uplighting in various areas on the main venue. The lighting installed was so gorgeous and made everything pop perfectly.
