Good food but nothing super special. We drove far to come here and maybe expectations are too high. They were busy and service was uneven, many dishes were sold out and they kept coming back telling us xyz is not available. One of the fish of the day dish was mahi mahi but when the fish showed up at the table it was not mahi mahi and they didn't tell us until we asked. Flavors were also hit and miss, my favorite was the mushroom risotto, but I felt like I could have gotten that anywhere. 4 stars for effort but it needs improvement given the price point. More...

Outstanding! Fantastic service, friendly staff, and amazing food. The ingenious menu showcases the chef’s talents and confidence. Very nice experience tonight. Food was excellent and same as Denise. Bartender Leah was nice enough to make my night cap a Kalua Martini (shake but no stir) perfectly well. Highly recommended this restaurant

Where do I start Husband and I waited till they opened at 5pm on a Monday. Greeted and seated by Denise, who asked if it was our first time. We nodded. She walked us through many first-timer food options and was super knowledgeable. She really, really knew her stuff!! We learned a lot about each of the unique dishes and every single one was mouth-watering! We finally selected a few based on what we liked based on what she recommended.David had a nice big smile while he delivered our dish. He was super tentative and told us which dish is which as well as which one may be super HOT!Anyway, our food came in and we started eating. The portions were decent, but the food was delicious, from appetizer to the main course!-Volcanic Sparking Water-St. Francis Wine-Scallop Ravioli-Green Beans-Sweet Potato-Ahi. We ran away from the hukilau and found ourselves at Jo2. What a great find with wonderful food, wonderful service as the waitress, Lele, made it a exceptionally good experience and I recommend this place to anybody ! Unbelievable selection of food with a fresh menu that changes often. The crusted mahi was divine and pretty much everything can be made vegetarian, vegan, and sometime gluten free. Prices are high, but well worth it, unlike most other higher end places in Hawaii. The cocktails were also fantastic, with smooth tropical flavors that bring more to the table than the basic crowd pleasers. We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner here and will soon be returning! More...

By far the best restaurant in Kauai. If you have an educated palate and you’re interested in fine dining this is the place to go. We had to come back the second time since we had an amazing meal in our first visit. The scallop dumplings were delicately prepared so you could experience the range of flavors in the dish. We enjoyed the sauces most. We’ve discovered the Chef is gifted with a talent for creating tasty sauces and we had to use our bread for sopping up whatever remained on the plate. I know that’s not proper but we just couldn’t bear to leave any on the plate. I must also mention the great service. Everyone works together to provide the best service. Too bad we have to go home and can’t enjoy this place more often and regularly. We started in on the desert before I took the photo. It was delicious and presented perfectly. My husband and I ate here on our last night in Kauai! We definitely saved the best for last. We shared small plates and the food was amazing - flavors were superb and the food was melt in your mouth delicious. Our waitress Tammy was so helpful in choosing our small plates and gave us great recommendations. Our drinks from the bar were amazing highly recommend the empress cocktail. Wow, excellent place... We had a panoply of small dishes along with one main and wine, and every dish was well executed and conceived. Great use of local ingredients and modern presentation. Perfect cook on the meats. Also loved that this was not a dinner fill of empty carbs... Every dish had a variety of vegetables. Plenty of choices for vegetarians as well. Service also excellent.
