Always enjoy coming here whenever we visit family in Niles. Beautiful place any time of the year and great opportunities to take pictures. In the summer you get the aromas of all the flowers. It's very peaceful and great for the whole family! More...

Beatiful place. A little pricey but if you spend the time it’s worth the price. And if you are a geocacher, there’s a nice variety of well maintained caches to find.

Cool place. If you think you've found a girl that you want to hold onto for a while take her here on a date. Show her you're classy. Stop at Wheatberry Tavern on the way home for some food and drinks. More...

A must see destination. Although some parts of the garden are in need of some maintenance, this place is simply beautiful. There are several hiking trails to various types of gardens and fields. They also have an amazing natural material train track that was a surprise and a must see! More...

We love Fernwood and have been going for 30 years. We've been members for years. My only complaint...which is not THEIR fault, is that on the weekends there is motorcycle racing somewhere nearby and it runs the tranquility of the gardens. Ugh.

Fernwood has miles of trails! Depending on how much time you spend, and how far you want to walk, it could take several trips to see it all. We went as a family of 5, didn't rush, just took our time and looked around and spent about 3 hours. We did not walk any of the long trails though, only the main ones around the gardens, buildings and pond. I recommend bringing lunch. We would have stayed longer if we did. There is also a cafe, but we didn't go there. More...

A pretty nice botanical garden. The train garden is a nice addition. Additional buildings are being built for future use. Consider taking the eco trail down to the river . It's beautiful! Lots to explore and they have a great store and restaurant. We became members for next to nothing and it comes with access to botanical gardens around the country which is great for when we travel. Vey beautiful time of the year to visit. I went on an overcast day, and everything was a little wet. I think that just added to the beauty though.

We would have appreciated a little more explanation how to proceed with our wreath making as we were newbies. A fun event with great snacks.

Wonderful place to observe the change of seasons. Much to see---allow at least 2 to 3 hours when you go. Also has a nice cafe that serves lunch. Soups are always very good.

It is pretty magical there. I loved seeing the hut made of trees and all the butterflies and pollinators. But some of the paths were small, or hard to navigate through. There were also large machinery that took away from the scene and experience. This time I only went on the paved paths so I don't know what the rest of Fernwood is like but it's worth returning and checking out the rest. I'd say it isn't as put together as I expected it to be especially by the pictures they have on their website but it's still a place worth checking out. More...
