Great place in Santa Barbara!! Being unfamiliar with the city we decided to dine at Jill's and Megan made it extra special. We initially thought she was the butcher's daughter given how warm and welcoming she was, turned out she is helping for holidays. Thank you Megan, you are awesome!!! More...

We went here for the first time today thanks to the Axxess Card BOGO deal. Â They open at 8am and when we walked in at 9:10am it was empty but quickly started to fill up. Â It's Saturday so there is a Farmer's Market across the street. Â I got the feeling there are a lot of local, regular customers--a good sign.I ordered the BLTA with a side of fries and my boyfriend got the Prime Rib French Dip. Â I wasn't in the mood for breakfast food so the fact I could order lunch-type food this early was a huge plus. Â The bacon was generous and delicious and the fries were piping hot. Â My boyfriend loved his French Dip. Â The dining area is spacious and well lit and the bathroom was very clean. Â Service was friendly and efficient, even as the place got busy. Â We'll be back! Y'all...wedge salads are dying. Â They're on the brink of extinction. It used to be every diner in town had one and now you have to search high and low. ..go to the ends of the Earth just to find one. Â Well fret not, Ninjas...cause they have wedge salad here! And the wedge salad is hearty. Â Big chunks of roughly chopped eggs, onions, lots of crispy bacon pieces, diced tomatoes, huge chunks of blue cheese. Â I was in heaven.Crispy Parmesan tater tots.Great service. Â Lots of space. Â Clean bathrooms. Â Not too crowded. Â A wonderful bar near the entrance. Â I'm coming back with a date. Â Keep your trendy spots. Â Jill's is a comfortable and comforting classic with wedge salad.I'll always be back! More...

Who was today years old when they found out that Jill's Place is related to Shalhoob's? Hence the Butcher's Daughter! Such a cool local connection. This is a solid place for lunch - my coworkers and I come here often during our monthly lunches out and Jill's always leaves us full and satisfied. I've only been here at lunch time but they've got a great menu.Don't sleep on the fried chicken salad! It's like fried chicken in a southwestern salad and hits the spot! More...

Jill's is a true "locals only" joint if there ever was one. Not to say that everyone isn't welcome here, but more simply; its out of the way, there's no parking (unless you know the secret free local parking nearby) and no one has ever said " I just found myself in that neighborhood" . All those things combined, makes their success so much more impressive, especially after nearly 20 years! Fantastic steaks, great drinks, and a cool, "old school" ambiance bring back the feel and flavor of a classic steakhouse. Sure, they could use a few more beers in their tap lineup (though the Shalhoob house brand brews are pretty solid) . Truth be told, In the crowded SB restaurant scene Jill's place is an enduring fav, and I should really be coming here more often that I do:-) More...

Delicious food! Ate here while visiting out of town. My husband wanted a steak, and they had a great variety of cuts. You get great courses including soup and salad, plus some amazing garlic bread. I had the braised short ribs and they were so tender. The chocolate cake is so silky and rich, but not overwhelming. Loved every moment! More...

I've had breakfast here once before and I loved it they give very large portion and great for sharing a plate most definitely! But let me tell you if you love a good steak Jills has you covered! This was my first time having dinner here and I was a little worried we might not have got the best service because it was a birthday dinner of 20+ people so sometimes the kitchen and staff may struggle but I was wrong they cooked the steaks to perfection! All of are food was hot and came fairly quickly with no mistakes I was really mind blown how well they took care of such a large party! Jills has the best steak I've had in Santa Barbara! I can't wait to come back and try the sirloin. The ribeye was amazing not to much fat on it just enough to give some juicy flavor to it as to be expected on a ribeye. Hats off the the servers and the chefs all the staff was exceptional! I'm going to recommend everyone of my streak loving friends to Jills! More...

The perfect end to a perfect mini vacation! The location though it takes a little effort and some navigation a few trips around the block revealed plenty of street parking within a short walk and proved well worth the effort! From the greeting at the door to the handshake and farewell on the way out we felt like a part of a family homecoming! The atmosphere was lively but relaxing and the food can easily be described as excellent! The history of the restaurant and Jill added even more to the overall experience! For us this will now be a planned stop when we go to or through Santa Barbara! More...

Upon arrival, there was a lot of empty tables for a Friday night. We had asked for a booth and at first the hostess seemed a little upset and simply said, "I guess you can sit there. " We didn't think much of it. He ordered a moscow mule and I ordered a lemon drop. We both thought we'd had better drinks elsewhere but it was no biggie. With our entree came garlic bread, a side salad and a soup. The soup was definitely good! I came her specifically for filet mignon and was not disappointed! It was tender, juicy and very well seasoned. My boyfriend had ordered the fried chicken and was very satisfied as well! The portions were great for both our liking. The only reason I can't give it 5 stars is because the table was sticky, even after we asked for it to be wiped and some of the utensils had stains. The food was great and I'd recommend to anyone in the area. More...

Cozy restaurant that's a hidden gem. The soup was smoky and creamy. The filet mignon was perfect, no sauce needed, seasoned and tender, and the scalloped potatoes were buttery, topped with a crust of baked cheese. We will be back. The owner herself sat us down, and checked on us during our meal, and on our way out. Definitely coming back when in town. More...

I grew up with Shalhoob as our butcher when we wanted a particularly good cut of meat. Jill has carried this tradition into an incredible, casual, warm and friendly steak house. Whatever you order, it will be of the highest quality and perfectly cooked.Because it's a bit off the beaten path, I believe it caters more to locals, but that could just be my impression.Don't miss the family Fiesta photos in the bathroom, including someone riding a horse into the restaurant. Yelp is broken!!  It can't be possible that I have never Yelped Jill's place before... they lost my review  Probably not, most likely it is my faux pas my most egregious accidental yelp omission.   So here goes:The reason I'm so shocked is that Jill's is my go to.  "Where can we get a good steak?" "Jill's".  "Who has the best happy hour?" "Jill's". And now "Where is the best breakfast deal in town?" "Jill's!!" I'm here at least a few times a month. I love the Happy Hour 4:30-6:30 M-F.  I often get the Martini, I order mine with gin and it goes so well if they are playing Sinatra music.  The sliders are great but I enjoy the steak bites.  Chicken on a stick is pretty good too and it comes with potatoes and gravy.  I really do love the breakfast too, have ordered it for office breakfasts on occasion.  It's called Jill's Place because it really is Jill's Place.  Jill Shalhoob is the owner and she stems from Santa Barbara's most prominent meat supplier.  The restaurant is actually the old family butcher shop.  So my apologies Jill I should have written this years ago, oh let's just say I did and blame Yelp.
